What an experience, and what a lovely interactive small group on board. Day tours were excellent, although a little too much history - glad there was not an exam at the end! Accommodation on the lower deck was great, as time on board was either upstairs or asleep. Tour director did an excellent job - timings were great. Meals superb. I have recommended it to friends.

Our river cruise was excellent, much more than our expectations. We were very impressed by the standard on the ship and the standard of the staterooms and bathrooms. The thought that went into the detail hanging space etc. We liked the mix of the organisation and the relaxed atmosphere, we were free to join in everything or just to relax. The food was read more outstanding as was the service. We would recommend the holiday to anyone and very much hope to go on another journey with Avalon.

The only thing we could find to complain about on our river cruise was the beer was not cold enough!

The cruise was fantastic! The boat was brand new, the cabin was very well appointed and quite large with a full wall of sliding doors, the food could not be better and the service was brilliant. There was a good balance of shore excursions and time to relax on board. Our 7-day cruise on the Rhine offered more than we expected.

Thought it was very expensive. Had impression we had a balcony but really it was a door which opened! There was not even two comfortable chairs to sit in and look out you had to sit on the bed! Food was good and plentiful. Little time to just relax.

Our river cruise fulfilled all our expectations and more; from the excellent accommodation and facilities to the efficient and courteous staff, not to forget the excellent excursions. We could not have wished for more.

Overall it was very, very good and only misses the top rating because we have had some more memorable holidays. Yvonne Brooks handled our arrangements extremely efficiently. Global Journeys can be recommended with confidence.
