Breathtakingly beautiful Italian Lakes & Tuscany 2 Garry & Shona, VIC, Australia, May 2019
Our recent tour of the Italian Lakes and Tuscany was fabulous! I really can't recommend it highly enough! From the beautiful Lake Maggiorre, where we visited the exquisite Borromeo Palace and lovely manicured gardens alongside it on Isola Bella, to the magnificence of Michelangelo's 'David' in Florence, this tour has it all. The Albatross difference read more is that you stay in lovely hotels (and I'm the fussy type!) and most meals and all touring is included (some companies like to charge you extra for 'optional' add-ons). Albatross also have much smaller groups and really delicious meals, served with quality wines. Another big difference is that they allow you more time to see everything (mostly 2 or 3 night stays.. even 4!) and allow you an afternoon and evening off to do your own thing, or just relax in your wonderful hotel. We won't be travelling with anyone else!

I was very keen to try 'Albatross' tours, because of the longer stays & thought it would be a more relaxed & better pace tour. The 4 /3 nights stay was very good, however, the pace & time/motion factors felt rushed....perhaps they could review their itinerary, & streamline the tour organisation. Farmhouse dinners were pleasant but not up to other tour read more ones I have done. Accommodation was generally, excellent. Incidents, such as the coach breaking down was managed well. Italian Lakes & Tuscany, a wonderful area to revisit again.
Stunning Italian lakes,historical walled city of Lucca combined with the beauty of the Cinque Terre.This trip was relaxing with multi night stays in quality hotels. Our guide and driver were first class and the small group (20) interacted well. The large coach ensured comfortable touring. Included excursions and dinners were extensive and fun. This was a great holiday. The itinerary included many interesting features. There was fantastic scenery, as well as delicious 'foodie' experiences. The group of 28 travellers interacted very well and we all had a lot of fun. Most of the accommodation was of an excellent standard, particularly the Regina Palace in Stresa and the Grand Hotel at Lake Garda. read more Unfortunately, our group missed out on staying at the San Luca Palace in the 'old town' of Luca. The alternative accommodation at the Best Western was a huge disappointment, particularly in terms of the 'isolated' location. Compared with the other places, it was well below standard. Although we knew in advance that this hotel was the 'replacement', it certainly was not a good choice by Albatross. This is the second time I have booked a tour through Global Journeys and, again, I was extremely satisfied with all aspect of the booking process.
