Fantastic holiday Southern Italy and Sicily 5 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2019
We enjoyed every moment of our holiday from the excellent accommodation and places we visited to our tour guide Vanessa who was the very best guide ever as nothing was too much trouble for her, she was never fazed by our questions, always patient, knowledgeable and caring in every situation. Sicily is a hidden gem of delightful surprises and is the read more Disneyland of the ancient world... not to be missed. Albatross don't have optional excursions as everything on the tour is included except for "free time".
Southern Italy & Sicily, so different to the North   3 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
We have toured Italy several times in the past but never the southern region. When we discovered Albatross Tours' "Italy, the Deep South & Sicily" we thought, why not give it a go. I am so glad we did. I could not believe the difference between the two. The south is much more rugged and less touristy than the north. The accommodation we stayed in was read more like nothing else we have experienced anywhere else in the world. Like the north, the food and wine is very good, and the locals are very friendly and welcoming. Our guide, Gilberto was second to none. He had a thorough knowledge of the area and always had the welfare and comfort of his guests foremost in his mind.

I must also commend Jemma from Global Journeys. Like other staff I have dealt with in the past, Jemma always kept me advised on what was happening with our booking from the moment we sought a quote, and we got the best price available. Can't complain about that. Thank you Jemma and Global Journeys.
Worry Free Value for Money Holiday 6 , VIC, Australia, May 2018
Our trip to Sicily was exciting, educational and full of laughter and fun. The weather God smiled upon us and together with 22 fellow Australians and four New Zealand cousins we embarked on our educational and exciting adventure of Sicily. We were thoroughly spoilt by our Tour Leader Vanessa who kept us entertained and informed on all the magic Sicily read more has on offer, from the Trulli Houses living in the Matera Caves to the sumptuous meals and breath taking hotels we stayed at in different locations.

My fellow travellers though varied in age were wonderful and together we danced, sang and limped and laughed our way through Southern Italy and Sicily. Our 17day adventure was a wonderful experience my only word of advice is make sure you can climb stairs and steep hills . I am looking forward to another trip with Albatross Tours.
Fantastic Holiday 5 , WA, Australia, May 2018
Loved this trip, places we saw, staying in beehive cottages in Alberobello, caves in Matera & all the lovely hotels. Scenery spectacular, quite challenging with steps in parts. Albatross really comes up with very special holidays. Our tour guide Vanessa was fantastic, so knowledgable & great fun.
All up, very enjoyable 7 , Australia, May 2014
The Italy Deep south and Sicily tour is not for the faint-hearted, and one has to be quite fit and sure on one's feet. There is a lot of steep walking on uneven surfaces - more so than we have encountered on any tour before. In particular in Matera, staying in the caves - an interesting experience, but you have to be prepared for no shower, an open read more bathroom, no lighting apart from candles, and limited lamps in holes in the wall, very uneven flooring (limestone cobblestones), and steps wherever you go - either up or down. At Mt Etna one has to be realistic about one's fitness also, as once the walk is started, there's no turning back, and it's steep and slippery. The decision to stay in the café and wait for the group should be made realistically. There are a lot of ruins, not as many churches and cathedrals. The food is good, and plentiful, but there is a very different way of serving a meal over there, with plates of food coming thick and fast, with little or no explanation. All up, very enjoyable.
