From Johannesburg, fly to Victoria Falls Airport, where you'll be met and transferred to Ilala Lodge Hotel. Ideally located just a short walk from the entrance to Victoria Falls, the lodge offers comfortable, well-appointed rooms and unique views of the mist that rises from the mighty waterfall, which is known as Mosi-oa-Tunya - ‘The Smoke that Thunders'. Later this afternoon, enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. As you drift along, keep an eye out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birdlife. Finger food and drinks are served on board as you soak in views of the sun sinking below the horizon. Return to your lodge this evening for dinner. This morning, visit the Big Tree, a large baobab estimated to be over a thousand years old. Continue to Victoria Falls National Park for a guided walk through the rainforest that surrounds the falls. Learn about the area's unique ecosystem and take in views of the falls from a variety of vantage points. Later, perhaps enjoy a scenic helicopter flight (own expense). (B/L)
