Departing from Scotland, explore the old port town of Lerwick before sailing through magnificent fjords, including Sognefjord and Geirangerfjord, surrounded by dramatic peaks and steep mountains. Relax as your Discovery Yacht effortlessly weaves its way along like the longboard of the Vikings once did. Along the way, watch out for the diverse wildlife such as puffins, the white-tailed sea eagle, seals and dolphins.

Itinerary

Welcome to Dublin, a small capital with a huge reputation. Today we bid farewell to fellow shipmates and crew and leave with a treasure-trove of fond memories. Please book your flight to arrive into Dublin prior to 02:00 PM. (D)

Set on a peninsula stretching a mile with glorious beaches and a majestic rocky edge, Portrush is known famously for being the Causeway Coast. Freechoice: Visit the famed Giants Causeway, unique hexagonal stones steeped in legend and folklore. Enjoy a tour of the world's oldest legal distillery, Bushmills, and taste Irish Whiskey or choose to experience Londonderry through the eyes of a local. (B/L/D)

The picturesque little bay of Oban is overflowing with Victorian charm and elegance. Oban is surrounded by dramatic shores and spectacular countryside. Freechoice: Visit the exotic Arduaine Garden and admire the spectacular array of colourful plants from around the globe, or explore Oban with a local guide. Alternatively, learn the history and heritage of Inveraray Castle. (B/L/D)

Fort William is known for its sandy beaches, dramatic hills, castles, distilleries and iconic films locations. Breathe the fresh mountain air and be amazed at the most beautiful beaches. Freechoice: Ride the Nevis Range Mounatin Gonolda, reaching heights of 650m for spectacular vies, or choose to visit the famed Glenfinnan Viaduct bridge, before visiting the Ben Nevis Distillery for a tour and tasting.

Alternatively, join an art workshop. Cruise through the beautiful stretch of water, Sound of Mull. Admire from your private verandah suite, or head to the Observation Terrace and look for seals, otters and porpoises playing in the waves. (B/L/D)

Skye's capital is an attractive fishing port with brightly painted houses around a natural harbour. It is sometimes possible to attend a Ceilidh here – an evening of Scottish music and dance. Once a MacLeod stronghold, the beautiful Isle of Raasay boasts the extinct volcano of Mt Dun Caan, which rises 443 metres high. Today, choose one of our Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery.

Freechoice: Enjoy a scenic tour of the Isle of Skye, taking you to landscapes so unique they are used in many sci-fi films or walk along the Scorrybreac headland and learn the history of the Portree with a local guide. Discovery: Venture on a hike to the "Old Man of Storr", a large pinnacle of rock that stands high and can be seen for kilometres. (B/L/D)

We make our way to the Outer Hebrides – also known as the Western Isles – that stretch for 130 miles and look out on their western side to the Atlantic Ocean. We will land at the isolated archipelago (and World Heritage site) of St Kilda, where derelict crofts bear testament to the fortitude of islanders who once dried seabirds for winter food. The isles hold Europe's most important seabird colony and is home to Britain's highest sea stacks (rock columns).

Discovery: Cruise on Zodiac along the craggy sea cliffs, home to Europe's largest colony of seabirds including gannets and puffins or join one of our Discovery Team for a hike passing by ruins and grazing sheep for beautiful panoramic views of St Kilda. (B/L/D)

Stromness is full of character, with winding streets stretching from the shoreline up the hillside, quaint alleyways waiting to be explored, and a landscape shaped by the sea. Stroll through the township to find the hidden gems, such as the finest crafts, textiles and jewellery in the small local shops. This long established seaport has attracted sailors for centuries, from Vikings to Captain Cook. Discovery: Predating Stonehenge and the pyramids of Giza, Skara Brae is one of the world's most evocative prehistoric sites. Walk around the stone structures of this old village. (B/L/D)

Set neatly between the mountains and the sea, Aberdeen's harbour is said to be ‘one of the most architecturally distinctive in Europe.' Docking in the heart of the city, witness Aberdeen's famous stunning, sparkling, granite buildings and monuments shimmering in the sunlight and listen for the warming tones of Scottish dialect 'Doric' as you roam. Today, choose one of our Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery.

Freechoice: Learn the history of Aberdeen on a city tour or choose to explore some of the fairy tale castles. Alternatively, enjoy a whiskey and pale ale tasting tour. Discovery: Explore the dramatic cliffs at the Bullers of Buchan, observing the diversity of wildlife, from Aberdeenshire's puffins, porpoises, minke whales and sunbathing seals. (B/L/D)

The most northerly point of the British Isles, Lerwick's waterfront is lined with sandstone buildings dating back to the 18th century. The sound of traditional Shetland music can often be heard as you walk through the twisting lanes of this charming harbour town. Freechoice: Visit the remarkable prehistoric archaeological site of Jarlshof, or take a ferry to the Island of Mousa and admire the Iron Age fortress, incredible scenery and abundant wildlife. Alternatively, explore the Shetland Museum. (B/L/D)

Journey to Norway's second largest city, the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen, surrounded by seven hills. One of the prettiest cities in Norway, Bergen dates back to the 12th century. Admire the many multi-coloured wooden buildings, by far the most iconic sight to greet any visitor to Bergen. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal balance of nature, culture and urban life.

Freechoice: Join a local for a guided tour around Bergen, or travel to the house of the famed Norwegian composer and pianist Edvard Grieg before a private recital in the museums concert hall. Discovery: Hike to Mount Fløien, learning of the beloved Norwegian outdoor culture, tales of trolls and everyday life in old and modern days, or venture out and bike through this stunning city. Cruise along Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway and you will soon see why it deserves the nickname of ‘King of the Fjords'. At its deepest, Sognefjord plunges more than 1,300 metres while the spectacular mountains rise on either side. You'll pass through the village of Vikøyri before making your way to the village of Flåm in the heart of the fjord. Freechoice: Ride the world-famous Flåm Railway for a day of stunning scenery. Be greeted by a beautiful stretch of coastline, spectacular mountains and valleys, rolling farmland and the biggest glacier in Europe. The view is sure to steal your breath. Situated in the inner Geirangerfjord, Geiranger is one of Norway's most beautiful sights surrounded by steep mountains on either side of the fjord. It's listed as one of the most beautiful fjords in the world and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Named after Norse mythology, Frøya is the goddess of love and beauty. See the rolling hillside blanketed in vibrant purple heather, Scandivain architecture scattered along the rocky coastline, and calm, sheltered inlets ready for exploration. (B/L/D)

The second largest glacier in Norway will astound you with its 370 square kilometres and shades of blue in the ice formations. It is also the lowest glacier in mainland Europe at just 20 meters above sea level, making it accessible for nature-based experiences. (B/L/D)

Cruise along the Lofoten Islands, with dramatic peaks, sheltered coves and pristine beaches. The archipelago is a visual feast to explore and discover. This rare wilderness offers breath-taking scenery surrounded by majestic mountains, deep fjords, seabird colonies and picturesque fishing villages. Known as the cultural hub of the Arctic, Tromsø sits 400km above the Arctic Circle in the land of the Midnight Sun. Surprisingly cosmopolitan for its remote location, during the summer Tromsø is full of locals basking in the sunlight, tucking into fresh seafood on the docks, enjoying a drink at the world's most northern brewery or taking a dip in the refreshing waters of the local beach.

Your cruise ends this morning after breakfast. Say farewell to the crew and disembark Scenic Eclipse for your journey home. Please book your flight to depart out of Tromso after 11:00 AM.
