Throughout your journey, you will benefit from an excursion included per person per port of call, to choose from a selection offered by PONANT. During this cruise, visit the archaeological site of Ephesus from Kusadasi, discover the monastery of Saint John and the Cave of the Apocalypse where the last book of read more the New Testament was revealed to John the Apostle,from Patmos, or admire the sumptuous archaeological sites, from the Temples of Zeus, Apollo and Athena to the Terrace of the Lions, from Delos. From Athens, your ship will set sail for Patmos. Known as “the Jerusalem of the Aegean Sea”, the island reveals itself to offer you a dazzling time between unique landscapes of white-sand beaches and rocky bays. Your next port of call is Kusadasi, on the Turkish coastline. An old fishing village with history going back 5,000 years, not far from the Ephesus site, the town is now one of the country’s most famous seaside resorts. Further south, on the mythical island of Rhodes, let yourself be swept away by the charm of this medieval city with its gothic architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the south-eastern Aegean Sea, the Cyclades archipelago invites you to enjoy the wild and appealing beauty of its islands. Delos, a veritable open-air museum, offers a unique testimony of the succession of different civilisations during the Aegean period. Next comes Mykonos, its beaches and windmills, with Alefkandra, a district that is typical of the island, with houses built right on the water’s edge. Then, Santorini, one of the pearls of the archipelago, awaits you for an enchanted interlude, unfurling the grandiose crater of its caldera.

The Peloponnese and Nafplio - the starting point to discover the Epidaurus theater and the site of Mycenae, both classified as UNESCO World Heritage Sites - beckon you, preceding the exploration of the island of Hydra, famous for its incomparable light and the tranquility of its streets where all car traffic is banned. After an equally mythic and remarkable crossing of the Corinth Canal, you will arrive in the small port of Itea from where it is possible to visit the incredible site of Delphi or even the Hosios Loukas monastery, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

It will now be time to set sail towards Italy. With its ancient archaeological sites, Renaissance palaces, citrus perfumes and internationally recognised cuisine, will welcome you for a couple of days of unforgettable visits. In Reggio di Calabria, take a stroll along the famous Lungomare, with Mount Etna in the background. In Syracuse, the Sicilian soul unfolds across the island of Ortygia - the oldest part of the city -, a maze of small streets dotted with churches, palaces, ancient remnants, sheltering a majestic cathedral in its very heart.

Port:Kusadasi

Kusadasi's main cruise terminal is Ege Port, conveniently located just 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) from the city center, a quick 5-minute walk. Its proximity to the ancient city of Ephesus makes it a prime spot for history enthusiasts.

Located near Mykonos, Delos is a miniscule island in the Cyclades archipelago. It is one of the most important mythological, historical, and archaeological sites in Greece and the excavations on the island are among the most extensive in the Mediterranean.

The island's ruins encompass Doric temples, markets, an amphitheatre, houses with mosaics and the iconic Terrace of the Lions statues.

Many of the artifacts found are on display at the Archaeological Museum of Delos and the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.

The Corinth Canal cuts through the Isthmus of Corinth, turning the Peloponnese into an island as it separates the region from the Greek mainland.

Inaugurated in 1893, the canal is a little over 6 km long and enables merchant vessels and passengers to avoid a long 400km detour around the peninsula.

The two sides of the canal reach a height of approximately fifty metres. From the exterior decks, don’t miss a unique opportunity to watch the ship navigate along the narrow strip of water encased between tall, ochre cliffs.

Delphi, nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, is home to the site of the Oracle of Delphi - this UNESCO World Heritage site was once the spiritual center of the ancient world. The archaeological site includes the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, and the well-preserved stadium where the Pythian Games were held. Visitors can explore the Delphi Archaeological Museum, home to treasures like the Charioteer of Delphi statue.

Port:Itea

You'll dock at the port of Itea, which is 17 kilometers (11 miles) from Delphi, with a travel time of about 30 minutes. Itea itself is a charming coastal town with its serene waterfront and inviting cafes, offering a pleasant start before heading to the ancient ruins of Delphi.

During your journey at sea, make the most of the many services and activities on board. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa or stay in shape in the fitness centre. Depending on the season, let yourself be tempted by the swimming pool or a spot of sunbathing.

This journey without a port of call will also be an opportunity to enjoy the conferences or shows proposed on board, depending on the activities offered, or to do some shopping in the boutique or to meet the Ponant photographers in their dedicated space. As for lovers of the open sea, they will be able to visit the ship’s upper deck to admire the spectacle of the waves and perhaps be lucky enough to observe marine species. Reggio di Calabria, beautifully positioned on Italy's southern tip, faces the Sicilian coast with a bustling port that welcomes visitors to explore this historic city.
