Cruise Itinerary

Departs: 7:00 PM

Rome holds wonders unlike those on offer anywhere else in the world. Allow yourself to be transported back to a time of powerful Emperors and magnificent sculptors as you walk in the footsteps of thousands of years of Roman history. Behold the gigantic stadium of the gladiators in the Colosseum – a huge oval amphitheatre used to house all manner of celebrations, events, and of course, the iconic gladiator games of ages gone by.

Close by stands the impressive Roman Forum; one of the most important social and political hotspots of the ancient city of Rome. The Forum contains a plethora of Roman ruins including shops, homes, and temples. It’s an ideal place to immerse yourself in the culture of Rome, picturing how those who came before lived, traded, and celebrated with one another.

Other unmissable sights include the ornate Trevi Fountain, the breathtaking domed Pantheon, and the intricate marble work of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.

Port:Civitavecchia

If the unmistakable city of Rome has been on your Mediterranean must-visit list, you would be forgiven for potentially being unfamiliar with the port town that holds the key to your Rome experience - Civitavecchia. Part of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, the name ‘Civitavecchia’ translates to “ancient town” - a title it has earned over its rich history, dating back to before the Middle Ages. Located within an hour of the Eternal City of Rome itself, the port of Civitavecchia plays host to stunningly beautiful architecture, including the imposing fifteenth-century Fort Michelangelo.

The centre of Civitavecchia is a short walk away from the main cruise terminal, with the main train station also within walking distance. Trains depart the main terminal regularly, with direct lines to Rome and other surrounding areas. Local busses and taxis are also available.

Whichever ship you decide on you can choose from a refreshing variety of pools and whirlpools - each heated to just the right temperature. Queen Elizabeth offers two spacious outdoor pools as well as a hydrotherapy pool in her spa.

Arrives: 7:00 AM Departs: 7:00 PM

Marvel at masterpieces in Florence's Uffizi Gallery and stroll across the iconic Ponte Vecchio. Visit the awe-inspiring Florence Cathedral with its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi. The city's rich history is reflected in its stunning architecture and vibrant street life, making it a treasure trove for art and history enthusiasts.

A short trip away, Pisa beckons with its world-famous Leaning Tower. Climb the tower for a breathtaking view of the Piazza dei Miracoli, home to the beautiful Pisa Cathedral and Baptistery. Explore the quaint streets of Pisa, enjoying its delightful cafes and shops. This city offers a perfect blend of history, art, and Italian charm.

Cinque Terre, on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline, comprises five charming villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Each village offers breathtaking views, colorful houses, and narrow winding streets. Monterosso features a lovely beach and the Church of San Giovanni Battista, while Vernazza captivates with its picturesque harbor and ancient Doria Castle. Indulge in local seafood delicacies and savor the region's renowned Sciacchetrà wine.

Port:La Spezia

A busy port town and home to the country's largest naval base, La Spezia wears its maritime heritage proudly. Sandwiched between the hills and the sea, this atmospheric town has a great combination of historical buildings and beautiful scenery. From La Spezia, Florence is approximately 150 km (93 miles) away, reachable in about 2 hours. Pisa is 80 km (50 miles) away and the picturesque Cinque Terre villages are 30 km (18 miles) away.

Arrives: 8:00 AM Departs: 6:00 PM

Located on the west coast of Corsica, Ajaccio is surrounded by green-hued mountains, with shady palm fringed squares and pleasure boats bobbing in the bay. Arrives: 8:00 AM Departs: 6:00 PM

Palma de Mallorca, the capital of Spain's Balearic Islands, blends history and vibrant culture. The iconic La Seu Cathedral, with its stunning Gothic architecture and sea views, is a must-visit. Nearby, explore the Almudaina Palace, a royal residence with rich history and beautiful gardens.

Stroll through the charming old town with its narrow streets, lively squares, and bustling markets. Don’t miss the bustling Mercat de l'Olivar for a taste of local produce and delicacies. For a relaxing break, head to the picturesque Paseo Marítimo, where you can enjoy scenic waterfront views and numerous cafes. Palma offers a delightful mix of historical sights, culinary delights, and seaside relaxation.

Stroll down Las Ramblas for street performances and shopping, and don't miss the stunning views from Park Güell. Grand adventure 0 , QLD, Australia, May 2025
We were looking forward to a holiday that was going to give us the overall coverage of Japan in one trip so we thought the Cunard QE was going to give us that and it did. We enjoyed the trip but thought the boat was a bit too over the top for us. We felt if you weren’t the type of people who wanted to go glitzy each night there was little alternative ...read more - for that reason we felt a bit left out. Food was average and we expected better for a ship that is suppose to exude luxury but we saw all the sights we wanted and at a convenient docking spot each day.

First class accommodation in Princess Grill and dining options very good. Entertainment was superb and we visited the theatre every night.
Sad to see Queen Elizabeth Cruise ship leaving Australia. 2 , SA, Australia, Dec 2024
Cunard is to leave Australia and is not returning. We have enjoyed our cruises on this wonderful ship, so many areas to visit, morning coffee in the Commodor Club, breakfast, lunch, evening meals all fine dining each day, not to mention the afternoon tradition of afternoon tea. Our stateroom was always very clean and bathroom clean and shiny. We always ...read more choose the Main Dining room for meals rather than the casual dining in the Lido. Writers festival at Sea - Cunard 4 , NSW, Australia, Dec 2024
The trip was well worth doing, the writers talks were excellent and this combined with a great ship made the experience memorable. There is lots of choice of food, activities and great cabins which all put together makes for a wonderful trip.
Cunard lost it's shine? 1 , New Zealand, Mar 2024
Not sure I'd travel with Cunard again. This was my 14th cruise and 1st Cunard. It was chosen for destination and being rated a 5 star cruise line. Prior to this we did an Oceania cruise (just pre covid- 2019) and it was 5 star, however Cunard was not up the that standard. While I like the decor, some areas of the ship are getting a bit tired and need ...read more a refurbishment. Some of the crew were just going through the motions, a couple of the days trips were poorly organised and managed, and the trip included lunches were like being in a boarding school lunch room. This was our first cruise...   4 , NSW, Australia, Feb 2024
This was our first cruise and we couldn't have had a more wonderful holiday. The Queen Elizabeth was the height of elegance and the meals and entertainment first class. We made some new friends on board and would congregate in the Commodore Club for cocktails and beer.
