There are three cruise ship terminals in New York City, the Manhattan cruise terminal located in Hell’s Kitchen, the Brooklyn cruise terminal located in the Red Hook neighbourhood and the Cape Liberty cruise port located in the Port of New York and New Jersey.
Whichever ship you decide on you can choose from a refreshing variety of pools and whirlpools - each heated to just the right temperature. Queen Mary 2 offers two outdoor pools and her Pavilion Pool has a retractable roof so you can enjoy a dip whatever the weather and her luxurious Spa Pool is a treat.

Southampton has a long maritime history, it was the departure point for the Mayflower in 1620, and for the ill-fated Titanic in 1912. Today the city is the cruise capital of Northern Europe. During your time in Southampton, explore its medieval architectural spots like Bargate and the Old Town walls, shop at the ultra-modern Westquay and historic sites such as the SeaCity Museum and the Titanic Trail. Southampton is approximately 128 kilometers (80 miles) southwest of London, which takes around 1.5 to 2 hours by car or train. The port is conveniently located near the city center.
A visit to Bruges offers a step back in time with its medieval architecture, winding canals, and charming cobblestone streets. The Belfry of Bruges provides stunning panoramic views of the city, and don’t miss the chance to sample world-famous Belgian chocolates from local chocolatiers or take a leisurely boat tour through the picturesque canals.
As the heart of the European Union, Brussels boasts a blend of historic sites and modern attractions. Art lovers will appreciate the Magritte Museum, dedicated to the surrealist artist René Magritte. Be sure to try a classic Belgian waffle or indulge in mussels and fries at one of the city’s renowned brasseries, enjoying a quintessential Brussels culinary experience.
Zeebrugge serves as the gateway to both Bruges and Brussels. Bruges is approximately 17 km (10.6 miles) away, a 20-minute drive, offering medieval architecture and charming canals. Brussels, the Belgian capital, is about 100 km (62 miles) from the port, taking around 1.5 hours by car or train.

Le Havre, seaport and city, is located at the mouth of the River Seine in the Normandy region of northern France. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, with a substantial part of the city being redeveloped following significant damage in World War II. It’s uniquely positioned among the white cliffs and soaring waves of northern France, and is a gateway to an array of impressive sights and picturesque villages in Normandy.
A local shuttle service runs from the port into the city centre of Le Havre for a small fee. Alternatively, taxis will most likely be available from the port. The train station of Le Havre is around a 30-minute walk from the cruise terminal and Paris is 200 km (124 miles) southeast, reached in about 2.5–3 hours.

The ship itself is older but has been refurbished so is excellently maintained. We actually loved the size of the ship. It was large enough to contain all of the usual amenities but it was significantly smaller than some so we found it excellent to get around and feel like we were close to everything. One of the best aspects is that for the number of passengers there are a huge number of quiet spaces that you could go to if you want to be on your own bit equally there was always somewhere buzzing if you were chasing that.
We loved the gala nights - one was red and gold theme and the other was masquerade. It was lovely seeing everyone’s outfits and watching so many great ballroom dancers. However, it was not stuffy at all. We can’t really dance but we were made to feel welcome and it was fine for us to just do our low level shuffling or more modern dance style - anything goes really.
Another highlight was the afternoon tea everyday. Just lovely! Each day was a different musician - string quartet / pianist / cellist etc. the white glove service of fresh sandwiches, beautiful pastries, and scones was just so lovely. All day room service is also included I. The regular price and we really enjoyed this on a couple of occasions.
Apart from this, the whole reality that you are crossing the Atlantic and thoughts of where we were in relation to the Titanic made this a really poignant cruise experience.
Finally, the final approach into New York was just incredible. Under the bridge with the funnels just clearing, followed by cruising past the Statue of Liberty, and finally seeing that Manhattan skyline is an unbeatable way to arrive in New York. We absolutely loved it!!!!
