For a taste of the surrounding beauty, Genoa offers easy access to nearby gems. Marvel at Milan’s iconic Duomo and high-end shops. Begin your day with a stroll along the picturesque harbor, dotted with fishing boats and luxury yachts. Explore Villa Durazzo, a stunning 17th-century palace set in lush gardens, offering panoramic views of the Gulf of Tigullio.

For a taste of local culture, visit the Basilica of Santa Margherita, known for its impressive Baroque interior. Enjoy fresh seafood at one of the many seaside restaurants, and don't miss the chance to sample local Ligurian specialties like focaccia and pesto. Pretty as a picture, set on the Gulf of Poets, and famed for its connection to the English romantic poets Lord Byron and Percy Shelley who spent much time soaking up its inspiration, Portovenere oozes romance.

Situated on the westernmost point of the Gulf of La Spezia, Porto Venere is an ancient 12th-century town of tall, colorful houses lining the harbor and stretching up the hillside. Discover the many charms of Porto Venere with a walking tour - few areas in Italy, or even in Europe, can boast such breathtaking scenery and clear water. Along the way, you'll pass under an ancient arch to enter Caruggio and view the Church of St Peter, the castle and cemetery. At the end of the quay, the town's buildings are built in the Genovese-Gothic style of banded black-and-white marble.

Arrives: 08:00 Departs: 20:00

Marvel at masterpieces in Florence's Uffizi Gallery and stroll across the iconic Ponte Vecchio. Visit the awe-inspiring Florence Cathedral with its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi. The city's rich history is reflected in its stunning architecture and vibrant street life, making it a treasure trove for art and history enthusiasts.

A short trip away, Pisa beckons with its world-famous Leaning Tower. Climb the tower for a breathtaking view of the Piazza dei Miracoli, home to the beautiful Pisa Cathedral and Baptistery. Explore the quaint streets of Pisa, enjoying its delightful cafes and shops. This city offers a perfect blend of history, art, and Italian charm.

Cinque Terre, on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline, comprises five charming villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Each village offers breathtaking views, colorful houses, and narrow winding streets. Monterosso features a lovely beach and the Church of San Giovanni Battista, while Vernazza captivates with its picturesque harbor and ancient Doria Castle. Indulge in local seafood delicacies and savor the region's renowned Sciacchetrà wine.

The gateway to the Tuscany region and one of Italy's oldest port cities, Livorno is a small but historically rich city. Best known for its red-hued Fortezza Nuova and the surrounding area known as 'New Venice' where you can take a boat ride through its charming canals. While in Livorno, don't miss the Terrazza Mascagni, a picturesque promenade offering stunning views of the Ligurian Sea.

Cruise ships docking in Livorno typically use the Porto di Livorno, which is located approximately 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the historic city center of Pisa, and about 95 kilometers (59 miles) from Florence, requiring a 1.5-hour journey by coach.

Portoferraio is the capital of the island of Elba, a mountainous mirage of glowing beaches, turquoise waters, and craggy coastline. The cities sun-faded pink and yellow buildings stack up over the waterfront, offering sweeping views back to the mainland. Ships will dock in the Portoferraio Marina.

Beautiful Croatia 2 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2025
As a first time Azamara guest we were absolutely thrilled with our cruise content and the itinerary provided by Azamara. The staff and service was outstanding and we wouldn’t hesitate to do another Azamara cruise.
13 Best Of The Mediterranean Voyage with Azamara & Global Journeys   3 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2025
First ever cruise for me and booked with some apprehension. However, with the very professional guidance from Georgie at Global Journeys in helping to select Azamara Outbound as our choice for what was hoped to be an adventure of a lifetime, everything was beyond expectations. For anyone 50 plus, considering a cruise where you don't want a huge ship, read more and can meet some very lovely fellow travellers, Azamara comes out with top ratings for me. Super cabin, super service, no onboard extras and plenty of help if you feel overwhelmed. Ignoring advice from Global Journeys, we booked sights at every stop. Not a good idea as it can be exhausting! Take time to relax & enjoy all that Azamara has to offer, and listen to those who have loads of experience when it comes to cruising. The Med is a long way from home, but the 13 day Best Of The Mediterranean Voyage with Azamara & Global Journeys was worth every dollar.
10 Action packed days on Dalmatian and Amalfi Coast 1 , WA, Australia, Aug 2025
We have booked with Global Journeys before and will again, the service is great. Would highly recommend Azamara Dalmatian & Amalfi Coast cruise, the smaller ships are great, they can get into ports larger ships can't. With a maximum of 700 passengers you can get off for excursions quickly, as the staff are well organised and efficient. There is a great read more range of food available, whether you choose the dinning room or the casual buffet.
Fantastic cruise 1 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2025
This was my 5th cruise with Azamara and it lived up to my expectations. From the crew to the ports visited it was all I could wish for. Tracey Standing is an outstanding travel agent ensuring everything was in place and ran smoothly. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, experienced travel agent.
Azamara Mediterranean Cruise 1 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2025
A lovely cruise, beautiful locations. Azamara seems to be trying to paint themselves as a luxury cruise and whilst good, they are not quite there. Cruise is very reasonably priced but travellers need to be aware that excursions, special dining etc are extra. Our cabin was quite small, especially the shower but the service was excellent. Considerable read more variety of food available, staff prepared to accommodate food intolerances. Excellent service in restaurants. Onboard credits available for most, especially frequent customers.
Bucket list cruise   1 , Qld, Australia, Nov 2024
Ron and I went off on the azamara in the Caribbean to tick off another item on our bucket list. The cruise didn’t disappoint. Loved to places we went and the boat and staff excellent. Only criticism is smoking on the boat right near the pool bar 😝 Thanks Georgie for everything ❤️
Land of fire and ice   5 , WA, Australia, Jul 2024
Perfect cruise around Iceland with Azamara Onward. Everything was perfect. The ship was a perfect size to negotiate the fjords and tricky harbours safely. The itinerary around Iceland featured key and high value ports. Highly recommend.
Excellent itinerary 8 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2023
We chose this particular cruise because of the itinerary visiting the various islands of the Mediterranean we hadn’t been to before. We enjoyed the open seating in the main restaurant and the food was excellent. Our cabin was good although the shower cubicle was very small.
