Excellent itinerary   4 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2023
We chose this particular cruise because of the itinerary visiting the various islands of the Mediterranean we hadn’t been to before. We enjoyed the open seating in the main restaurant and the food was excellent. Our cabin was good although the shower cubicle was very small.
Wonderful Croatian adventure   6 , SA, Australia, Jul 2023
This Azamara cruise was perfect for us. Plentiful good food and wine, very attentive service from all the crew and well organized interesting excursions. The highlights of the cruise for me were Dubrovnik and Montenegro. The only downside was the standard of entertainment, but I wouldn't hesitate to travel with Azamara again.

What are Azamara’s passport and identification requirements?

A valid passport is required for all guests. You are responsible to ensure that your passport is up to date and will remain valid for at least 6 months from the date of the termination of your cruise.

Certain Port Authorities may from time to time ask to see photo identification when you depart the ship during the cruise. Azamara strongly suggest that you take a photocopy of your passport (in addition to your passport itself) with you on holiday and carry the photocopy with you each time you depart the ship in order to minimise any inconvenience this may cause.

For domestic Australian voyages calling in only Australian ports: Australian citizens require either a valid passport or government issued pictured and laminated ID card (driver’s licence/proof of age ID card/military ID card/government (federal, territory, city etc.) employee ID card/proof of age card) to be used as identification. For all other nationalities, a passport (plus visa if needed in Australia) is required. Children aged 17 years and under will require a passport or Birth Certificate to travel or government issued photo ID. Children under 16 years of age, who do not have a passport or photo ID, must have a copy of their birth certificate or their parent’s Medicare Card.

What if I am not the parent or legal guardian of a minor aged 17 or under at the time of travel?

Adults who are not the parent or legal guardian of any minor aged 17 or under travelling with them are required to present the minor’s valid passport and applicable visa (or for Australian citizens on domestic Australian sailings a certified copy of minor’s birth certificate) and 1 original legally affirmed or notarised letter signed by at least one of the minor’s parents/legal guardians along with 1 copy of the legally affirmed or notarised letter. The letter must authorise the travelling adult to take the minor on the specified cruise and must authorise the travelling adult to supervise the minor, sign applicable sports waivers and permit any medical treatment that must be administered to the minor which, in the opinion of the treating doctor, needs to be carried out without delay.

If such evidence is not produced, the minor(s) concerned will not be permitted to board the ship or undertake the cruise. A letter can be legally affirmed or notarised by a practicing solicitor, notary or commissioner for oaths who may charge a fee for this service.

What if my last name is different to my children’s last name?

A parent(s)/legal guardian travelling with a minor who has a different surname to the parent(s)/legal guardian, will be required to produce official proof such as a full birth certificate/divorce papers etc to prove that they are the parent(s)/legal guardian of the minor(s) concerned.

What Visas will I need?

You will need to contact the Embassy (Consular Services) of each country on your sailing itinerary for specific visa requirements, information, forms and fees for your nationality. More information can be found here.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

All guests must obtain appropriate personal travel insurance at the time you book your cruise, which includes a minimum cover for the cost of cancellation of your cruise, the cost of assistance including repatriation in the event of an accident or illness, and the cost of medical treatment in the on board medical centre.

All services provided by the on board medical centre (including medication, consultations and treatments) are not covered by private health insurance policies or by Australian Medicare or New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (including cruises sailing only to ports within Australia and New Zealand).

Can I cruise with Azamara if I am pregnant?

Azamara welcomes pregnant guests but (due to limited medical facilities on board) will not accept guests who will enter their 24th or later week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during their cruise. All pregnant guests are required to bring a doctor’s ‘fit to travel’ letter with them to the pier, stating the number of weeks pregnant at date of sailing and that they are not a high risk pregnancy. A copy with your booking number included, should be sent to your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor in advance of sailing.

I have special needs, can I still cruise with Azamara?

Azamara welcomes guests with disabilities and special needs and works hard to assist them throughout their cruise. To receive appropriate assistance, be sure to notify your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor at the time of booking.

Are wheelchair-accessible staterooms available on Azamara ships?

All Azamara ships have accessible staterooms. To reserve an accessible stateroom, guests are required to acknowledge the need for the accessible stateroom by completing the Guest Special Needs Form - your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor will be able to provide more information.

Can I still participate in Azamara Shore Excursions with a disability?

Yes! Azamara has created customised shore excursions for guests with disabilities. Accessible tours are designed for full time wheelchair users or guests unable to negotiate motor-coach steps. They are available in certain ports based on the transportation Azamara has been able to secure. To assist guests in choosing their Azamara Shore Excursions, all tours have been graded according to the level of activity they entail.

Please note that due to the historical nature of the sites and venues at some ports of call as well as the uneven terrain, inclines, steps to negotiate and narrow sidewalks not all tours offer access to wheelchair/scooters.

Can I travel alone if I have a disability?

Azamara does not require that a guest with a disability travel with another person as a condition of travel. However, guests must be self-sufficient and Azamara does recommend that guests travel with a companion to provide any required assistance. Azamara personnel are not required to perform personal tasks (e.g. assisting with eating, dressing, toileting or lifting).

I suffer from motion sickness, should I cruise?

Even if you suffer from motion sickness during car rides or on airplanes, it doesn’t mean you will become seasick aboard Azamara ships. In fact, many people don’t notice any motion at all. The sheer size of Azamara ships and specialised stabilisers are designed to give you the smoothest ride possible. If you are concerned about sea sickness or for any medical advice, please consult your doctor prior to boarding.

What is 'My Account'?

My Account is a portal that lets you manage your voyage details and loyalty information. This is done directly on the Azamara website and is a hub where you can complete your Online Check-In and purchase shore excursions in preparation for your trip. A single account can be used across the Azamara, Celebrity Cruises, and Royal Caribbean International family of brands.

What if I already have a My Account?

If you have cruised with Azamara or one of her sister brands (Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International) before, you can log into your existing account with the same email address that you used to register for your previous cruise.

You can add your most recent booking by signing into your account and from the "Upcoming Voyages" tab select the link to add a voyage. You'll need to enter your last name, date of birth, and 7-digit reservation number – your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor will provide you with this reference.

When can I check-in online for my Azamara cruise?

You can check in online from 90 days to 72 hours prior to your sail date. Details will be provided by your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor. If you miss the online check-in window, you can still check in at the Port.

What is the benefit of Azamara’s online check-in process?

It’s quick and easy to check-in multiple guests and finalise your cruise details, including travel documents, on board expenses, luggage tags, and boarding passes. By checking-in online for your cruise, you will significantly speed up your check-in process and will be able to board the ship sooner and avoid delays and queues at the cruise terminal.

Can I select an arrival time during Online Check-In?

Yes. All guests checked-in on the same online session will have the same arrival time. You can still select different arrival appointments for different people, but that needs to be done through multiple online check-in sessions.

How do I access my cruise documents?

You will receive electronic documents (eDocs) from 49 days prior to sailing once your reservation has been paid in full. Details will be provided by your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor.

Guests who do an online check-in will be asked to complete immigration and embarkation forms, accept the Cruise Ticket Contract, and set up their on board expense account. You will then be able to access and print boarding passes and luggage tags with a click of your mouse. If you complete your check-in online, you can also view your Boarding Pass on the mobile app before boarding the ship.

How and when do I reserve my shore excursions?

You can login to your My Account, which will lead you to the Voyage Planner page with all of the shore excursions available for purchase on your itinerary. It is strongly recommended to book your Azamara Shore Excursions before departure to avoid disappointment since all the experiences are on a first come first served basis. There is however a shore excursions kiosk on board each voyage for you to book last-minute excursions.

Please note there is a small fee for each Azamara Shore Excursions tour to cover the cost of admission to attractions, transportation, and other associated tour fees.

Can Azamara cater for my dietary requirements?

With advance notice, Azamara can accommodate most special dietary needs. Please let your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor know if you have any special requirements. Standard kosher-style menus are available on all voyages. On the day of boarding, please confirm your special dietary arrangements with the restaurant manager.

Do I need to make dining reservations?

Reservations are not accepted in the main dining area, Discoveries Restaurant. If you want to dine in one of Azamara’s two specialty restaurants Prime C and Aqualina, reservations are strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Are beverage packages available for purchase?

Your cruise fare covers select standard spirits, international beers, and a changing selection of one red and one white wine by the glass each day throughout your voyage. Azamara also offers wine and beverage packages to give you more preferred drinks at a great value. These range in price and inclusions.

How much luggage can I bring on my cruise?

The maximum luggage allowance for guests boarding Azamara ships is 90kg per guest, however, airlines also impose their own luggage allowance, with which you must also comply.

What should I pack?

In keeping with Azamara’s friendly yet sophisticated on board environment, guests are encouraged to follow a “resort casual” dress code. Out of respect for others, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, bathing suits, shorts, and jeans are not allowed in the dining room or specialty restaurants. When dining at Windows Café, guests must wear footwear and a cover-up or shirt.

Formal evening wear is not expected nor required in Azamara’s restaurants. If you prefer to dress more formally, you are welcome to do so.
