Itinerary
Your journey into wonder begins at Giza with a three night Special Stay with views of the Great Pyramids from your balcony. Sundowners Enjoy drinks and canapés as the sun sets over the magnificent pyramids. Please book your flight to arrive into Cairo prior to 02:00 PM. (D)
Explore the Pyramids then marvel at the Great Sphinx of Giza. Enrich: Enjoy a delicious lunch with the Pyramids of Giza as your backdrop, an unforgettable view fit for a Pharaoh. Prepare for an afternoon of historical discoveries at the Grand Egyptian Museum including the artefacts recovered from Tutankhamun’s tomb. Gaze in wonder at the Solar Boat, a restored cedar wood barge dating back to 2500BC. (B/L)
Visit the ancient capital of Memphis and the incredible Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Explore Imhotep Museum and the display of the most significant artefacts discovered on the Saqqara site. (B/L)
Fly early to Abu Simbel and visit one of Egypt’s most magnificent monuments, the enormous World Heritage-listed temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari, rescued from the rising waters of the Aswan Dam. Fly to Aswan where you will be ensconced in luxury during your two night Special Stay and admire the views over the Nile from the comfort of your balcony. (B/L)
Freechoice: Visit a Nubian village or the beautiful but often-overlooked Kalabsha Temple on the shores of Lake Nasser. Alternatively, explore the Nubian Museum home to more than 3,000 objects. Discover the history of the hotel and follow in the footsteps of icons like Princess Diana, Winston Churchill and Agatha Christie as you enjoy pre dinner drinks at The Terrace, before dining at restaurant 1902. Embark on your luxurious private charter on board the boutique Sanctuary Sun Boat III as you settle into your elegantly appointed cabin. Discover the Osiris temple complex of Philae, followed by a visit to the stone quarries which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in the pyramids and temples. Later, enjoy a traditional felucca cruise on the Nile. Tonight enjoy a display of Nubian dancing. (B/L/D)
Explore Kom Ombo Temple, perched high on the east bank dedicated to Sobek, the Crocodile God. Afternoon visit to Esna Temple. A fun night awaits on board with a colourful Galabeyya party with Egyptian delicacies, music and dancing. (B/L/D)
Discover the vast open-air temple complex of Karnak, marvel at the enormous pillars as you walk through the impressive Hypostyle Hall. Discover the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun. This afternoon, cross to the West Bank of the Nile and admire the colourful hieroglyphics adorning the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. (B/L/D)
Travel to the temple complex of Dendera to admire the vibrant colours of the hieroglyphics adorning the roof of Hathor’s Temple. Tonight, join the Captain and crew for a farewell Gala Dinner. (B/L/D)
Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight - Choose to add an optional hot air balloon flight (additional cost, please book on tour.) Morning visit to the Valley of the Queens and the impressive monument to Queen Hatshepsut with its three massive terraces rising above the desert floor and into the cliffs. Later this afternoon, enjoy a walk through the colourful local markets. Relax in the beautiful gardens of your Special Stay for tonight. (B/D)

We finally undertook our dream holiday to Egypt. The sheer beauty of this timeless country exceeded all of our expectations. We were initially apprehensive about travelling to Egypt in regard to our safety but it was unfounded. Egypt is as safe as anywhere in Europe. We travelled with Scenic who provided a never to forget experience. The professionalism ...read more of the Scenic staff could not be faulted and their attention to detail was excellent. Our cruise down the Nile was exceptional. My wife and her sister are gluten intolerant and the Chef's on the boat specially prepared separate and exquisite meals, for both of them. We could not praise them enough. As for Cairo, Luxor and Aswan with their museums, temples, tombs and Pyramids you cannot appreciate their beauty and intrigue unless you are there. Their photos in glossy magazines and on the internet do not do them justice. So if you have the opportunity do not miss this once in a lifetime experience.
