Itinerary
Delhi - Amritsar. Upon arrival at Delhi Airport a transfer will take you to the railway station for your afternoon train to Amritsar. You can also choose to start your tour in Amritsar if arriving via Amritsar Airport.
Morning sightseeing of the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. Late this afternoon we travel to Wagah, the border crossing between Pakistan and India to watch as the colourful and highly animated changing of guard and flag-lowering ceremony. (B)
Amritsar - Chandigarh. Travel to Chandigarh where we will visit the Rose Garden, walk along Sukhna Lake and explore the Rock Garden - a collection of over 2,000 sculptures. (B)
Chandigarh - Kalka - Shimla. Today we drive to Kalka station to board the narrow gauge Himalayan Queen Toy Train bound for our scenic ride to Shimla. Upon arrival, we meet our representative and transferred to our hotel. (B)
Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Shimla, set in the foothills of the Himalayas. The famous main street, The Mall, and the narrow streets which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and stunning views. (B)
Shimla - Kalka - Delhi. A free day to explore Shimla. Hotel check-out is at noon, opt for some lunch and pack an evening picnic meal before boarding the Kalka Shatabdi Express and arriving into Delhi late tonight. (B)
Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, highlights include Humayun's Tomb, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Rajpath and the India Gate. Tonight, we enjoy a Namaste Dinner. (B/D)
Delhi - Agra. Today we travel to Agra where we will explore Agra Fort and the legendary Taj Mahal. (B)
Agra - Karauli. Departing Agra, we visit the Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri en route to Karauli for check into the beautiful Palace Bhanwar Vilas, where the current Maharaja and Maharani of Karauli reside. The family is also lovingly restoring the Karauli City Palace, which we visit this afternoon. Tonight, opt to attend the evening Aaarti. (B/L/D)
Karauli - Jaipur. En route to Jaipur we stop briefly to meet the children and teachers at a local school (if open) where we operate our ‘Change for Children’ programme. (B)
Morning optional hot air balloon ride, before our visit to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort followed by a visit to a cotton weaving house to see a demonstration of fabric dyeing and block printing before touring the City Palace and Jantar Mantar. (B)
Jaipur - Delhi. This morning we drive back to Delhi, afternoon is at your leisure. (B)
Hotel check-out and included transfer to the airport. (B)
