Arrive in the afternoon. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner. Our travel specialists will be delighted to assist with travel arrangements if required.

Travel to the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Take an afternoon walk in the Analamazoatra Reserve or VOIMMA forest. Take a night walk, during which you may spot species such as greater dwarf, mouse and eastern woolly lemurs.

Enjoy a morning walk in the Andasibe National Park to search for lemurs. In the afternoon, visit Lemur Island in the Vakona Private Reserve, a sanctuary for lemurs, ahead of a short walk in Andasibe. Before dinner, embark on a night walk in the nearby Analamazaotra Reserve again, known for its lemurs, including the largest living species, the Indri indri .

Drive back to Antananarivo for an afternoon city tour, including the hills of the royal palaces. Enjoy a special chef's dinner in the evening.

Drive to Antsahabe, a village typical of the Merina people, for a short visit. Continue to the spa town of Antsirabe for a late lunch and afternoon tour. Antsirabe is a centre of the gem trade and home to hundreds of pousse-pousse (rickshaws), a legacy of Chinese labour imported to work on the railways.

Leave early for Ambositra (five to six hours, including breaks), Madagascar's handicraft and wood-carving capital. Enjoy an authentic Malagasy lunch and visit local workshops.

Take a scenic drive to the Ranomafana National Park (six to seven hours including breaks).

In the afternoon, visit Tanala village, and in the early evening, walk in search of nocturnal species.

During a morning walk in Ranomafana National Park, look out for the parks' three resident bamboo lemur species as well as a plethora of beautiful birds. Later, visit the Ranomafana Arboretum, home to hundreds of rare trees. In the evening, enjoy another nature walk.

Drive to Ambalavao via Fianarantsoa (five to six hours, including breaks). Visit the Anja Reserve, home to ring-tailed lemurs, and the Antemoro paper factory.

Travel to Ranohira (five hours, including breaks).

Spend the next two days exploring the sandstone landscapes of Isalo National Park.

Seek out flora and fauna including ring-tailed lemurs, Malagasy hoopoes, and Verreaux's sifakas, and enjoy a traditional music performance at dusk.

Travel towards the west coast, stopping en route at Zombitse-Vohibasia National Park, where it may be possible to spot Appert's tetrakas, one of the most endangered birds on the island. The region is known for its large baobab trees and traditional family tombs, central to Malagasy culture. Transfer on to Ifaty, a quiet coastal fishing village with a long beach.

Explore the nearby forest and relax, before joining a farewell dinner.

Walk in the Reinala Private Reserve. In the afternoon, fly to Antananarivo.
