Turkey Bike Trip 1 Cycle Turkey , WA, Australia, Oct 2023
The trip was exactly what was presented in the marketing. The guide was excellent, 25 yrs living in Turkey and therefore knowledge of culture and landscape was a lived, full of real experience. The accommodation was good as was the backup van service. Would recommend.
Dubrovnik to Lake Bled 2 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2023
Unfortunately this trip was a bit of a let down. I couldn’t believe for the price that only breakfast was included not even a welcoming or farewell dinner. After just completing a tour of longer duration for not much more we had breakfast and a main meal, plus drinks included every day, sometimes three meals. The accommodation was very ordinary at times read more especially when we were so far out of town that we were dropped in to find somewhere to eat and told to find our own way back by Uber or taxi. Most of us had no phone connection or Uber account. This led to the guide having to use hers. Very disappointing. The walking activities were lovely but a lot of the other outdoor activities were set for the afternoon in free time but we were often too late back to do them. Danielle the guide was very kind and went out of her way to be warm, helpful and informative. The driver Stephan was very competent as well, they did their best on a very poorly put together trip.
Exploring the Baltics 3 Historic Baltic Republics , QLD, Australia, Sep 2023
This was an extremely informative and interesting tour. Our Tour Leader Ona was exceptional in her assistance and knowledge. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Great Trip! 2 , TX, United States, Jun 2023
In all, the trip was great. Be aware, however, if you arrive at Malta International Airport at a time other than when expected, the meeting point "in front of Costa Coffee" is in the Departure area of the airport and not Arrivals. One of my trip mates did have a problem receiving a call back or email reply from Explore. I had no communication with them read more as everything was handled for me well by Global Journeys.
Andalucia Spain is a great tour 1 Moorish Andalucia , Florida, United States, Jun 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed our Andalucia Spain tour through Explore. Tour guide Ester was funny, charming, informative, and organized. Tour combined seeing some wonderful sites and learning about the culture with free time so we could all explore our various interests. The beauty of the region is a must for people who want to see Spain. Loved the smaller towns.
Romania and Danube Delta 3 Best of Romania & the Danube Delta , VIC, Australia, May 2023
The idea of the trip is excellent as it covers all important highlight of Romania - a couple more days would provide a better pace. Explore uses two/three star accommodation with meals at the lower level also. The guide on our trip, Horea was satisfactory, he covered all that was required in the itinerary however he has a very prickly sharp nature read more and was very economical with information and answers to questions. Any particular assistance required was sparing offered after reminders.

Lunch time was often combined with important sightseeing so a compromise was necessary as inadequate time was usually allowed. The itinerary is a little rushed and the choice of day to day activity often left the group with unnecessary long stints in the bus with inappropriate comfort stops. Lunch was often after 3pm having had breakfast at 7.30am! Walks should be for important sightseeing/ forest appreciation/views, not just a hard slog to say on have walked xxx km or climbed xxm. A guide with more information about wild flowers/birds would be an asset to the group. We enjoyed the trip however it could benefit from many improvements which would not be expensive.
Wonderful tour through Slovenia   1 Alpine Lakes of Slovenia , WA, Australia, May 2023
A wonderful, well organised tour through Slovenia with Explore Tours. We went in mid May and can recommend this time of year. Hiked to waterfalls through beautiful forest, enjoyed the scenery of lake Bohinj and Lake Bled, cycled through picturesque villages, relaxed by the Adriatic Sea, explored caves and castles and enjoyed a scenic train ride. Accommodation read more was comfy, clean and well located. Our guide Miro recommended great restaurants for dinner at each location, there was also enough free time throughout the trip to do your own thing. The scenery and hiking in the Lake Bohinj area was the highlight for me. Global Journeys were also great to deal with.
Morocco and the amazing tour guide   1 Grand Tour of Morocco , NSW, Australia, May 2023
Wow our first time travelling with Explore! and with a small tour group of eight people. The tour guide Mustapha was wonderful, a true professional with a clear wealth of knowledge about the areas and the people as we traveled through Morocco. Every day was an adventure as Mustapha our guide would find something to add on the way, like introducing us read more to the nomad people in the mountains or dancing with the local people in the desert. We fell in love with the people of Morocco brought to light through our guide with stories of their history, politics and religion. Thank you Explore! and a huge thank you to our guide Mustapha for making our journey AMAZING.
A wonderful week 1 Highlights of the Greek Islands , VIC, Australia, May 2023
High points of our week: the lovely Hotel Grotta with their superb breakfasts. Family run where they thought of everything. Taking our luggage to our rooms on night 1 when we arrived after midnight. The trip notes failed to mention the ferry trip was a 6.5hr journey (5 hrs) was mentioned in their notes. Sapfo Poliali an excellent guide, thorough in read more her advice, but the trip notes were not helpful as it was her 1st time on the Athens, Naxos and Santorini tour.

The walk on Naxos: I felt quite unsteady and felt a walking pole could have been suggested for the stony descent on our 5km hike.
Kamari Beach hotel: a lovely hotel with a super pool and drinks terrace overlooking the black sands of Kamari Beach. The coastal walk from Thira to Oia should not be described as a walk; rather a strenuous uphill slog, definitely longer than 8kms. A fantastic group of 15 individuals and super weather made the week memorable. EXPLORE, just get the notes sorted and a little more accurate.
Put Malta and Gozo onto your travel list!   3 Malta & Gozo Discovery , NSW, Australia, Apr 2023
This was a fantastic trip and I could not recommend it highly enough! Good quality hotels, great and varied itinerary with the opportunity to have some free time as well. The highlights included a farm visit and luncheon, a visit to St Johns co-cathedral in Valetta, the coastal scenery and visits to neolithic temples! In addition to those highlights, read more the trip was memorable because of the opportunity to travel with like minded people and to be guided by a wonderful and enthusiastic guide (Lisa). We were also able to enjoy some high quality local seafood. You must put Malta and Gozo on your travel list!
Spain & Portugal - Morning walking tour with (most) afternoons free!   2 Spain & Portugal Iberian Explorer , New Zealand, Apr 2023
Our guide Gabrielle was great - could rattle off most of the history & could answer most of the questions we asked & also looked after everyone equally! I would recommend that the amount of walking & at times quite steep should be emphasised more as a few people struggled - didn't cause any major issues but they were probably surprised at times.
Great trip through the Baltics 1 Historic Baltic Republics , VIC, Australia, Oct 2022
Travelling through the Baltic countries was a great experience. The countries are rich in history and the cities of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius are beautiful. The trip is well planned by Explore, but I would make the Curonian Spit excursion half day instead of a full day. The accommodation was on the whole good but in a few occasions the shared rooms read more were a bit small if you have to share with somebody you don't really know. Also being with a good group of people was fun. I booked the trip online with Global Journeys, as I have done a few times before, and it was easy as usual.
Walking in the Canaries 2 Canary Islands Walking - La Gomera & Tenerife , United Kingdom, Jan 2022
I really enjoyed the trip , the walking, winter sun (interrupted by a couple of rainy days!), and a good group and tour leader - more than anything though, it was great just to travel abroad again after a gap of more than 2 years.
Truly stunning hiking 1 Canary Islands Walking - Gran Canaria , United Kingdom, Jan 2022
The scenery inland is quite outstanding with dozens of deep, chiseled valleys and gorges of extreme, austere beauty. If we had just 1 gorge of that quality anywhere in the UK, we'd have declared it a National Monument. No need to go further afield for some truly stunning hiking, with a nice dose of local culture and warming, winter sun as an added bonus!
Walking in Northern Cyprus 1 Walking in Northern Cyprus , United Kingdom, Dec 2021
It was our first foreign trip for two years, and we enjoyed it overall. The Covid safety measures were affective, and we appreciated Cema arranging for tests at our hotel the day before departure. I would add that the New Year's Eve celebrations surpassed expectations - the food and the entertainment were excellent.
Walking Turkey's Turquoise Coast 1 Walking Turkey's Turquoise Coast , United Kingdom, Dec 2021
We booked a walking holiday that was rated easy. The walks were really interesting and the distances were not too long. The underfoot terrain was very rough and made for hard going. When we walked the aqueduct, there were very severe drops to one side. With uneven tracks, the potential for a catastrophic fall was evident. I felt uncomfortable on read more more than one occasion, even though it was a walk I wanted to do. P.S. The meal at the village was excellent
Sri Lanka in Depth 2 Sri Lanka in Depth (Adams Peak) , United Kingdom, Dec 2021
COVID precautions were taken very seriously in Sri Lanka . The hotels took our temperature and provided hand cleaning regularly. The guide organised our return Covid tests at the penultimate hotel, which was very helpful. I felt very safe travelling during COVID times. The boat company for the whale watching handed out sea sickness tablets. They were read more ridiculously strong and I could hardly stay awake! Perhaps I was foolish in accepting them but I think they should come with a warning!
Family trip to Costa Rica 1 Family Costa Rica Rainforest & Wildlife Adventure , United Kingdom, Dec 2021
All good, everyone had a great time and the whole package was great. One minor comment, and perhaps this is actually about Costa Rica itself, but none of the places we ate at seemed to do much in the way of kids portions. So, we seemed to waste a lot of food!
Once again a great experience with Explore! 1 Classic Egypt with Nile Cruise , United Kingdom, Dec 2021
Once again a great experience with Explore. Customer service was good - a real human to speak to. We had to change from Cuba to Egypt and this wasn't an issue. Fair refund policy encourages me to return to Explore. Indeed I am already booked on my next holiday with you.
I have lots of energy but...wow! 3 Madeira Island Discovery , United Kingdom, Nov 2021
This was my first experience of a tour. Everyone on the trip was lovely - it was a really fun, interesting group and everyone got on well. We seemed very like minded and it all gelled. My biggest comment again would be the pace - it felt frenetic at times. ALSO - because we went out for dinner in buses (most evenings) it wasn't possible to get back read more until everyone was ready. This resulted in half of us being forced to stay out later than we wanted. Some wanted to drink till 2:30, but most didn't - but even coming back at 11:30pm or so felt like a very, very long day, if we began at 8:30am and only had 30 mins to change clothes in the middle. Perhaps more dinners near the hotel so people could leave when they wanted? It was all very exhausting, which was the one downside. I have lots of energy but .....wow! After a few days the exhaustion does kick in.
