The landscape of Iceland is totally different from anywhere we have been before. There is a large ice shelf covering over 10% of the country with glaciers and rivers and waterfalls. A lot of the rest of the country is covered with volcanic lava leaving little land for agriculture. The waterfalls are beautiful and the icebergs in Glacier Bay spectacular. read more The solar eclipse we experienced was eerie as the sudden darkness enveloped us even with the cloud cover and no sight of the sun. An interesting place to visit but be prepared for expensive food and drinks.
