We sailed from beautiful Bergen in late Autumn to the north, sailing between coastal islands and up and down the majestic fjords. As we moved north the coming winter started to show, with falling snow as we enjoyed the ship’s hot spa on deck, we also caught the Northern Lights 3 times in a spectacular light show.
The ship with about 300 passengers is not the large cruising ship that some people may enjoy but a more personable experience from the Hurtigruten team, this is what myself and my wife enjoy. The towns further north were a winter wonderland with dry powdery snow and ice, so if you come at this time remember to pack the warm clothes and invest in some shoe spikes for walking! Overall a wonderful experience and such a memorable experience!
