Luxuriant forests line its coastline, and many sites are perfect for diving. You will ride a tricycle up to Magellan’s Cross, an iconic site located on the island’s heights, before coming back down in the direction of the small temple and a wishing well where you will see typical shows and taste some local dishes. On the preserved shores of Higatangan Island, time seems to stand still, between history, traditions and the softness of the tropics. Once a place of waiting and transit, this island, home to many fisherman, now reveals a peaceful atmosphere. Its spectacular immaculate sandbar stretches over the sea like an invitation to escape. During an immersion on foot, set off to meet local communities, and discover the delicate art of weaving and ancestral know-how, before enjoying a traditional feast showcasing authentic flavours. You will be able to observe the traditional stages of fishing boat construction, help paint one of them, and applaud a local music group and majorettes. Sibuyan is the second largest island in the Romblon archipelago and has always been isolated from the other islands in the Philippines, a particularity that is due to its geological history. The island remains very much untouched and wild. It boasts an exceptional ecosystem and is home to several endemic species, which is why it is sometimes dubbed “the Galápagos of Asia”. Dominated by Mount Guiting-Guiting, which rises to an altitude of more than 2,000 metres or 6,750 feet, it will provide a perfect insight into the natural beauty and culture diversity of these parts. Right near Sibuyan, you could get the chance to swim at the beautiful white-sand beaches on the minuscule Cresta de Gallo Island, surrounded by crystal-clear waters.

Calapan, the lively capital of the Oriental Mindoro province, will reveal itself as the privileged gateway to still-preserved landscapes. Behind the hustle and bustle of its port, which connects the island to Batangas, there lies a territory of soothing beauty, in which golden rice paddies and lush nature form an enchanting setting. Only a few minutes away, the atmosphere changes and makes way for an authentic immersion into the heart of the Mangyan community, the guardians of ancestral traditions and fine craftsmanship. With a warm welcome, cultural discoveries and moments of relaxation in an extraordinary natural setting, this port of call invites you to explore an intimate and refined facet of the Philippines, featuring living heritage and the softness of the tropics.
