Itinerary

Arrive in Victoria, where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. Later, a Welcome Reception prepares you for what's to come. Stay Two Nights: Victoria, Double Tree by Hilton Hotel & Suites or Marriott Inner Harbour

After breakfast, join a short orientation tour of Victoria, to get to know the elegant capital of British Columbia. Then spend time visiting The Butchart Gardens, which is among the most famous display gardens in the world. More than 100 years old, The Butchart Gardens is set over 22 hectares and has a distinctive style all of its own. With a magnificent array of floral displays to choose from, perhaps meander through the lovely Sunken Garden or explore the Japanese Garden and the Italian Garden, showcasing plants from around the world. If you'd prefer to venture further afield, choose from one of the select experiences available to you today. Perhaps join an exhilarating whale-watching cruise or enjoy a leisurely horse-drawn carriage tour to discover some of Victoria's many attractions (own expense). (B)

This morning after breakfast, you will board a ferry for a scenic route to Whistler. Admire the Coastal Mountains as you travel along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway with a stop at Shannon Falls on the way. Then continue on to the alpine resort of Whistler, a well-known haven for outdoor enthusiasts, set in stunning mountain scenery. Alternatively, you may like to enjoy a journey with aerial views on a floatplane flight across the Georgia Strait to Whistler (own expense). Stay: Aava Whistler Hotel (B)

After breakfast this morning, travel through the ruggedly beautiful Cariboo region to the mountain town of Sun Peaks. This region was mostly colonised during the gold rush of the 1860s. At this time, the town of Sun Peaks was often bustling with miners and cowboys. Stay: Sun Peaks Hotel (B/D)

Following breakfast this morning, farewell Sun Peaks as you travel through Yoho National Park, admiring the beautiful alpine scenery and glistening lakes. It's a good idea to have your camera at the ready to take those postcard-perfect photos. Later, continue to the charming township of Banff, located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. There is time

After breakfast, you can enjoy today at leisure to explore more of this alpine township at your own pace. Set in pristine wilderness in the heart of the Canadian Rockies' oldest national park, Banff offers plenty of outdoor action and all the attractions of a popular resort town. After breakfast, farewell Banff and set off towards Jasper. En route, travel along the Icefields Parkway, which is considered to be the world's most scenic highway. This morning, board the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer train and settle into your carriage with large windows for expansive views of the fabled Rocky Mountains. Then, late this afternoon, you'll arrive in the city of Kamloops where there's time to settle into your comfortable hotel and relax this evening. Rejoin the Rocky Mountaineer and continue your rail adventure west towards the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, enjoy incredible views of Fraser Canyon, the Coast Mountains and Fraser Valley. Late this afternoon, arrive in Vancouver and settle into your comfortable accommodation for the next two nights. This evening, enjoy free time to explore and dine at a local restaurant. Fall in love with the beautiful city of Vancouver and get to know some of its best-loved attractions on a sightseeing tour. Today your journey brings you to Alaska's capital, Juneau. Explore the region's glacial terrain and gold rush history or head into town and visit the rustic shops located here. This morning dock in the port of Skagway, at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Skagway was once a frontier town and gateway to the Klondike. You will find a variety of stores and saloons in town that capture the excitement and history of the gold rush days. Wake up to the breathtaking sight of Glacier Bay National Park this morning, with its formidable rivers of ice, pristine fjords and wild coastline. You'll soon discover why this region has earned World Heritage status. You'll also gain a more detailed insight into the unique nature of this national park, as local rangers join you on board to explain the geological wonders and diverse wildlife of this region. Today marks your final day on board your premium Holland America Line cruise ship. You'll spend time cruising north through the open waters of the Gulf of Alaska, enjoying the fresh ocean air and endless horizon.
