In Rottnest Island, say hello to some of the sweetest and most approachable marsupials, the quokka, to capture a selfie you will treasure for a lifetime. Discover the poignant World War I history of Albany and then proceed to Margaret River to taste some of the most premium wines produced in Australia.

Itinerary

Welcome to Perth, the cosmopolitan capital city of Western Australia, bedecked with pristine beaches, vibrant cultural landscape and endless natural beauty. Enrich: This afternoon let your expert local guide show you around Kings Park and the Botanic Gardens on a leisurely walk. Learn about the array of wildflowers found throughout Australia and how to identify them. Enjoy a welcome dinner at your elegant hotel in Perth, your stay for the next two nights. (D)

Freechoice: Today take a food and wine trail through the Swan Valley – exploring its bustling markets, wonderful wineries and distilleries or unwind on a Swan River lunch cruise. Alternatively, cruise to Rottnest Island home of the loveable quokka or a visit to Nambung National Park to examine the mysterious limestone Pinnacles. (B)

Today take the scenic route to Albany through the Jarrahdale State Forest and pass through Williams and Arthur River before you get to Kojonup. Visit the indigenous cultural centre of Kodja Place and walk through the beautiful Rose Maze. Learn the incredible life stories of the Noongar-Indigenous, English and Italian women that are intertwined with the tapestry of roses. Visit the Mt Romance Sandalwood factory for an insight into the healing powers of this native oil. Arrive in Albany, your home for the next two nights. (B/D)

Visit the award-winning National Anzac Centre museum, built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, on the land from where over fifty ships of ANZAC soldiers left for war. You will also have the chance to assume the identity of an ANZAC related character and follow their personal experience of the Great War. Explore the old whaler’s station as part of your visit to Discovery Bay and their wildflower garden. Admire the Gap and the Natural Bridge coastline formations and the spectacular views of the Southern Ocean. (B/D)

Today visit the Valley of the Giants to view the ancient Giant Tingle Trees. The tree top walk provides you with a bird’s eye view of the towering forest and its soothing canopy. Ride on the Pemberton Tramway though beautiful Karri and Jarrah forests and stand in awe at the foot of the famous Gloucester Tree, soaring to 61 metres. Travel via Cape Leeuwin where the Southern and Indian oceans meet before arriving at your two night Special Stay. (B/D)

Indulge in a gourmet escape at Margaret River, known for its pristine beaches, and delicious wine and chocolate. Apart from the over 100 world-class wineries, Margaret River also offers a wealth of natural wonders, including caves with the longest straw stalactites in any tourist cave in the world. See the famous Busselton Jetty, a nearly 2 km long timber piled jetty that will lead you out into the ocean to admire the incredible underwater marine life. Visit the dolphin centre at Bunbury to meet some more endearing WA natives before before arriving back in Perth. (B/D)

Board the Indian Pacific train and settle into your comfortable private cabin before lunch in the elegant dining car. Arrive in the wild west town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, home to the staggering Super Pit. (B/L/D)

Big blue skies and vast desert landscapes await along the sweeping Nullarbor Plain. Enjoy a short stop in Cook, once a bustling railway community, now effectively a ghost town. (B/L/D)

Visit Adelaide Central Market or tour the city highlights including Haighs chocolate factory. Continue to Broken Hill, known as the Silver City. Visit the late Pro Hart’s studio or the Miners’ Memorial. (B/L/D)

Arrive in the magnificent Blue Mountains and explore the World Heritage-listed National Park. Enjoy lunch at The Lookout restaurant before being whisked away to Sydney Central Station where your journey comes to an end. (B/L)
