Nassau, capital of The Bahamas and a former stronghold for pirates, is the ultimate cruising destination. See the two sides of the city: an urban hub of music, coffee bars and Michelin-starred restaurants, and a well-preserved treasure of candy-coloured colonial buildings, glamorous settings for two James Bond films, and the former home of the Duke of Windsor, Governor of the Bahamas in the 1940s. Your journey of wonder begins on board Scenic Eclipse. Please book your flight to arrive into Nassau prior to 02:00 PM. (D)
The uninhabited Egg Island, only 800m2 (8,611 sq ft), is supposedly named for the chickens owned by residents of nearby islands who come here to gather the eggs; but today, not even chickens live on this dollop of sand in the Bahamas. Protected by a reef, its crescent-shaped beach is ideal for swimming. (B/L/D)
New England-style architecture and celebrity spotting sets apart Harbour Island. A five-minute zodiac ride away is the wilder, rugged beach haven of Eleuthera. Gourmet restaurants sit next to fishing shacks, surrounded by pink sand, gentle hills and unspoiled bushland. (B/L/D)
Dock in the delightful Clarence Town marina for a day of discovery on foot or by bike. The west coast of Long Island is fringed with white-sand beaches, while the east coast has dramatic cliffs and caves that face the wild waves of the Atlantic Ocean. (B/L/D)

Great Inagua reportedly experienced the Bahamas’ first act of piracy in 1713 and claimed many shipwrecks in subsequent years, leading to the establishment of a lighthouse in the 1800s. A climb up the lighthouse offers panoramic views of Matthew Town and its scenic surrounds. (B/L/D)
The slow pace of Port Antonio is thanks to its remote location on Jamaica’s northeast coast, with mountains on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. Discover the lush landscapes and beautiful beaches such as Frenchman’s Cove, where a river flows into the sea.
