Itinerary
Welcome to Russia, meet and greet arrival transfer from St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport to your hotel. (D)
Our sightseeing today includes Peter and Paul Fortress and the beautiful SS Peter and Paul Cathedral which houses the tombs of the Romanov monarchs. We also visit the exquisite Church On Spilled Blood. Later on we enjoy a guided tour of the treasure-filled Hermitage at the Winter Palace which houses one of the biggest and best art collections on earth. (B)
Today we head out of town to the Peterhof Palace and Gardens (in summer, May to mid-October) or Catherine Palace or Pavlosk Palace (in winter, mid-October to April). Peterhof on the Gulf of Finland is Russia's ‘Versailles' and popular in summer with its incredible gold fountains, whilst Catherine's Palace is bedecked in gold leaf and provides a wonderful insight into the lifestyle of the tsars. Today gives the opportunity to shop for some last minute souvenirs, or a leisurely walk. Our city stay concludes after breakfast and hotel check-out. (B)
