This morning we visit the last remaining wonder of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Giza! We'll also see the nearby Sphinx, the Step Pyramid of Sakkara and the ancient capital of Memphis. (B)
4 Cairo - Luxor - Nile Cruise
We fly to Luxor and visit the beautiful temples of Karnak and Luxor, linked by the impressive 3km-long Avenue of Sphinxes. (B/L/D) Embark Cruise: This afternoon we'll board our luxury Nile cruise ship.
5 Nile Cruise
This morning we discover the Nile's West Bank, visiting the incomparable Valley of the Kings and the imposing Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. (B/L/D)
6 Nile Cruise
Cruising down the Nile, we stop at Edfu's Temple of Horus. We'll then visit Aswan's impressive Kom Ombo temple complex. Tonight we'll experience a traditional galabeya party on board. (B/L/D) Please Note: Due to local laws and regulations, the only mode of transport available to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu is by horse and carriage. Unfortunately, some neglectful owners cruelly mistreat their animals. While our guides always endeavour to arrange healthy, well-treated horses with responsible owners for our transport in Edfu, ultimately it is your decision if you wish to partake in the included sightseeing. If you do not wish to participate, you are welcome to explore Edfu independently, or stay on board the cruise to enjoy the ship's facilities.
7 Nile Cruise
Special Experience: Today we explore amazing Abu Simbel. The twin temples here were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen, Nefertari. This afternoon we'll sail along the Nile on a traditional felucca. (B/L/D)
8 Nile Cruise - Aswan
Disembark Cruise: We disembark the cruise after breakfast. We'll then visit the peaceful Temple of Isis on Philae Island, the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan. (B)
9 Aswan - Cairo
Today we fly back to Cairo. (B)
10 Cairo - Addis Ababa - Zanzibar
Today we explore Cairo. Our first stop is the Egyptian Museum, home to the priceless treasures of Tutankhamun. We'll also visit the Citadel, the Mohammed Ali Mosque and explore Khan el-Khalili Bazaar. Next we fly to the exotic island of Zanzibar. (B/D)
‘Karibu' to tropical Zanzibar! Enjoy the evening at leisure in Stone Town.
This morning we explore historic Stone Town on foot. Highlights include the Sultan's Palace, the Old Museum and the market. We'll then transfer to our resort at Kiwengwa Beach. (B/D)
Relax and soak up the resort atmosphere, or explore the picturesque fishing villages that are dotted along the coast. (B/D)

15 Zanzibar - Nairobi
Enjoy the morning at leisure before our flight to Nairobi later this afternoon. (B)
Today we'll visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, run by Dame Daphne Sheldrick, which rescues and rehabilitates elephants and rhinos orphaned by ivory and horn poachers. Then get up close and personal with the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. Later we enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and visit the adjoining Museum. (B/L)
17 Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve
Escaping the city, we travel north and cross the equator before arriving in Samburu National Reserve. After lunch we'll head out on our first game drive! (B/L/D)
18 Samburu National Reserve
Keep an eye out for Samburu's diverse range of wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives today. (B/L/D) Special Experience: Visit a Samburu village and school to learn about ‘a day in the life' of a Samburu woman and her children.
19 Samburu National Reserve - Mt Kenya National Park
Today we travel to Mount Kenya, Kenya's highest mountain. On our way we stop at the Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers, a place where women are trained in the craft of spinning and weaving, empowering them to earn a sustainable living. On arrival in Mt Kenya we'll explore the forest on foot with a ranger. (B/L/D)
20 Mt Kenya National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park
A chance for us to spot the endangered rhino in beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park today on an afternoon game drive. (B/L/D)
21 Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha
We'll participate in a tree-planting ceremony at our lodge this morning before we travel to Lake Naivasha, the home of the late Joy Adamson, author of “Born Free”. After lunch, we drive to Hell's Gate National Park where we go for a walk, admiring the spectacular scenery of towering cliffs, extinct volcanoes and deep gorges. We then return to the rich heritage and idyllic scenery of Lake Naivasha, the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea and visit the Adamson house containing memorabilia from the “Born Free” film. (B/L/D) Please Note: Due to recent flash flooding, Hell's Gate National Park has been closed until further notice. A boat trip on Lake Naivasha will be enjoyed in its place.
22 Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara
We travel to the famous Maasai Mara and enjoy a game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, zebra, gazelles and lions! (B/L/D)
23 Maasai Mara
Our day in the Maasai Mara is devoted to discovering the incredible wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives. (B/L/D) Special Experience: This evening we'll be treated to a special bush dinner under a beautiful blanket of stars.
24 Maasai Mara - Nairobi - Australia
