Take your BC Ferries service across Georgia Strait, and travel the Sea to Sky Highway, pausing at Shannon Falls. Or if you'd rather, take a floatplane flight (own expense). Stay: The Westin Whistler Resort & Spa (B)

Travel through the Coast Mountains and stop at Duffey and Seton lakes. Stay: Sun Peaks Grand Hotel (B/D)

Spend today travelling. Be brought to a pause at Mt Robson and take in Maligne Canyon on your way to Jasper National Park. Stay: Jasper National Park, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (B/D)

Travel through the iconic Canadian Rockies along the Icefields Parkway. See Athabasca Falls before stopping at the Columbia Icefield to board an Ice Explorer vehicle and journey onto the surface of Athabasca Glacier. Continue to Lake Louise. Stay: Banff National Park, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, in a Lakeview Room (B/D)

Travel along the Trans-Canada Highway to Banff National Park, taking pause at Moraine Lake. Once you've arrived, tour the town. Stay Two Nights: Banff National Park, Fairmont Banff Springs, in a Mountain View Room (B/D)

Your Rocky Mountaineer rail journey continues. Following along the Thompson River, pass the waters of Hell's Gate, and gaze up at the Coast Mountains on your way to Vancouver. Stay Two Nights: Vancouver, Fairmont Waterfront Hotel (B/L)

On a guided discovery explore Vancouver's most famous sites including Stanley Park and Granville Island, the bustling heart of Vancouver's cultural scene. Also see English Bay and Vancouver Harbour. The rest of the day is yours. (B/D)

  • A private boat ride takes you to Rudyerd Bay, an ice-carved masterpiece deep within Misty Fjords National Monument. Here, you'll learn about the natural history of the fjords and listen to the call of nesting sea birds as you glide past towering glacier-sculpted cliffs and shimmering waterfalls.

With a morning at leisure to discover Ketchikan at your own pace, you might like to visit historic Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum or the Southeast Alaska Discovery Centre. Alternatively, see the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, visit Saxman Native Village or explore Totem Bight State Historical Park (own expense). Later, fly from Ketchikan to Sitka (flight included) and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Stay: Sitka, Totem Square Hotel (B/D)

This morning, choose from the sightseeing activities on offer. A free afternoon gives you the chance to explore Sitka at your leisure. Perhaps discover the town's historic Russian buildings which have been maintained as miniature museums, learn more about Sitka's history at the Sheldon Jackson Museum, or visit the Southeast Indian Cultural Centre (own expense). Later, board your included flight to Juneau and transfer to your hotel. Stay Three Nights: Juneau, Four Points by Sheraton in a guaranteed Sea View Room (B)

  • Perhaps discover the best of Sitka on a guided tour, including a wildlife tour through the Alaska Raptor Centre, a visit to the Sitka National Historical Park and a stop at the Fortress of the Bear. Alternatively, keep an eye out for Alaskan wildlife as you head out on a leisurely kayaking excursion to explore Sitka's sheltered waterways, harbours and picturesque coves. Another option is a wildlife-viewing cruise that gives you the opportunity to see whales, sea otters, porpoises, sea lions, harbour seals, brown bears and more.

  • Cruise through the incredible Tracy Arm Wilderness Area, home to deep fjords and sheer granite cliffs. Have your camera handy as you glide past cobalt-blue icebergs, thundering waterfalls and an abundance of Alaskan wildlife. Your boat will get as close as possible to the ever-changing Twin Sawyer Glaciers, which cannot be accessed by larger ships.

It's up to you how you spend today as you choose from the sightseeing activities on offer, before a farewell dinner tonight. (B/D)

  • You might choose to head out on a seaplane excursion to the Juneau Icefield, including an Alaskan salmon feast at the remote Taku Glacier Lodge. Alternatively, get up-close to the impressive Mendenhall Glacier on a guided canoe trip, with the option to step onto the glacier itself and see its incredible ice caves. Another option is a helicopter ride over the Juneau Icefield and Herbert Glacier, home to spectacular rock formations and icefalls. Or for a true Alaskan experience, perhaps upgrade to a helicopter dog sled tour on the Herbert Glacier (additional expense).
