Myanmar - Maybe a country of great problems but a top venue to tour 3 , New Zealand, Oct 2017
We are very experienced travelers often to intrepid destinations. Our Irrawaddy River cruise was right up there with the best. Very happy but impoverished people who get on with life with a smile on their faces. Conditions and pollution really third world. They appear to be unaware of events in other areas of the country. Have been basically under Military ...read more rule for so long most know nothing else to compare it with.

Recommend Myanmar as a tourist destination if you don't mind seeing what real life can be like. River cruising was a way to experience this without the possible problems of land travel.
