Great trip to Canada and Alaska 4 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2023
We have just returned from our trip to the Canadian Rockies and Alaskan Inner Passage cruise. It was amazing and met all our expectations. A must do for everyone if possible.
The Rockies and Alaska 4 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2023
Great trip booked by Georgie Walpole. Enjoy booking with Georgie and Global Journeys. Both Western Canada and Alaska are so beautiful. Weather was great. Only rained for less than one hour for the whole trip. I will definitely book future tours with Travelmarvel. No complaints about the tour director, coach driver and cruise liaison - all great and ...read more very helpful and accommodating. Only issue is the cruise ship - Volendam cabins require updating. Cabin carpets are old and dirty.
Such a wonderful holiday more than we imagined.   0 , VIC, Australia, May 2023
Our tour was packed with adventure. So much to see and do. The accommodation was was very nice. Breakfast s was delicious. The only let down was when we arrived at Victoria our first day, there was no one to greet us . So l had to arrange a taxi.
Our bus driver Gil was very accommodating. Yes we would travel again with Travelmarvel and you Georgie ...read more Walpole were very helpful while we were filling in our paperwork. Thank you again for your patience. We have some beautiful and amazing memories of our holiday adventure.
Fantastic tour of Canada And Alaska   0 , VIC, Australia, May 2023
Our trip to Canada and Alaska with Travelmarvel was fantastic. Jaqi our group leader was great, so knowledgeable and lots of fun. Our group of 40 were all lovely and fun to be with. Everything was just perfect. There was so much to do and experience. The food was wonderful, the Canadian people are so happy and friendly. I can honestly recommend this ...read more trip. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole trip ran so smoothly. Thank you Global Journeys and Georgie for organising it all for us.
Tour and cruise of Canada and Alaska. 1 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2022
Having arrived home from our fantastic Canada & Alaska tour I have to say it was hassle free and the scenery was every pic a postcard. Great accommodation throughout and always breakfast, but did feel there were too many extras to pay for, so many added tours and meals. The tours of course are optional and your choice.

Could not fault Dale our tour ...read more leader, she was fantastic, always there to help, great stories and knowledge. Our cabin and meals on the cruise were excellent. The crew so friendly and hard working and the ship always being cleaned. Unfortunately we missed our dog-sledding tour through bad weather, no ones fault. We did add a tour in Juneau and did feel it was not at all value for money, very overrated - an old cannery and totem poles with a pure chance sighting of a whale - would not go there. The overall trip was excellent but if you are on a budget it can be pricey.
Tick off the bucket list!   3 , WA, Australia, Aug 2019
What an amazing trip! We ticked so many things off our bucket list. Every day was a jam packed adventure! We got to see Mother Nature at its best. Bears, elks, eagles, salmon, long horned sheep, and this list goes on. We got to visit so many wild and wonderful towns all so different to one another. Our tour guide Ben Direen was fantastic as was our ...read more driver Big Mike. The 7 day cruise to Alaska was a nice way to finish the trip with some time to chill out as well as options for adventure on shore. First time with Travelmarvel and I’ll definitely be travelling with them again. I was very impressed with their service.
Travelmarvel Reflections tour of Western Canada 2 , WA, Australia, Jun 2019
We've just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable Travelmarvel Reflections tour of Western Canada. Going early June allowed us to still see quite a bit of snow, especially on top of the mountains in Whistler. We were so lucky with the weather (warm) with just a bit of rain one night.

Even though we were a big group of 48 we all got along well. On ...read more the bus component our roller blading tour director Roneil was friendly and well organised, as was our delightful coach driver Lana. Accommodation was of a high standard, though Kamloops was somewhat basic - our favourite being the log cabins at Blue River.

The Rocky Mountaineer was a delightful experience, we were certainly fed really well. The cruise to Alaska was great with the highlight being Glacier Bay. We are pleased we chose Reflections and would gladly recommend it to our friends. Hannah (Global Journeys) we once again appreciate how efficient you have been in organising our trip and promptly answering any questions.
Tour of Canada and Alaska   9 , NSW, Australia, May 2019
Firstly let me say this has been my second booking with Global Journeys and I cannot fault them. Every email enquiry was answered promptly and to my satisfaction, took some worry out of our journey before we left home. Thanks Georgie.

Our tour from coach to train to ship went smoothly, well organised and I never felt anxious about the next step. ...read more I have travelled with other companies including Scenic and Insight and would recommend Travelmarvel along with them. I was initially worried about the amount of free time but it really worked with this tour and was possibly needed especially as we were travelling with 2 other couples.

We booked the helicopter and dog sled via Juneau and the crab feast and lumberjack show via Ketchikan... both excellent. Highly recommend going Gold Leaf on the Rocky Mountaineer, the glass roof makes for excellent viewing, the fine dining experience is better than pulling a tray down in front of your seat. Excellent service but patience is required. I would also recommend that on day 1 from Banff you eat before you board or take a snack because breakfast was 10.30 for us and we were first seating.

Accommodation was great, and always well located. Funny enough the only night we went 'umph' was at Lake Louise a premier hotel, great location but the room was not as good as we had through the rest of the tour.
Would also advise if you do the same tour as we did to have alternate plans for the last day, disembarked at 9.30 to rain so really couldn’t do much more than coffee shop hop until coach trip to the airport at 7.30pm. Had it been fine we would have gone to Capillano or walked around Stanly Park, that last day was arduous.
Awesome trip through the Rockies & Alaska 8 , NSW, Australia, May 2019
This was an awesome trip. Would definitely book with Global Journeys & Travelmarvel again. Hard to pick a favourite but our helicopter trip in Juneau to the Glacier and dog sled ride would be close to be the best.
Great holiday!   12 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2018
Our trip was great, the coach portion was tiring with several early mornings. We have not done pre-organised tours such as this before so whilst all the details were taken care of for us it felt a bit rushed at times with little free time. The days on the Rocky Mountaineer were very long due to delays with freight trains but could not believe the generosity ...read more of the refund we received! Our tour guide, Willo was extremely knowledgeable and competent, as was the driver Claude.

We had stress at the domestic airport at Melbourne as staff are unable to "read" the electronically attached ETA. As I couldn't find a hard copy of my husband's we missed our flight and had to postpone our flight to the next day. The importance of having a hard copy of this needs to be emphasized to future travelers or improved scanning procedures for staff at domestic airports.

When trying to contact Travelmarvel for assistance at the airport early on the day I'd intended departure there was no answer from the assistance line but we were referred to ring during office hours which was useless to us for this early flight. Once contested during office hours the staff were helpful in making the changes to our flights for the next day. Luckily we had a day pre-tour so we didn't miss the start but we did have an extra night booked at Victoria that was not needed.
Canada & Alaska in June 2018   14 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2018
Some highlights were seeing Lake Louise in all its morning glory (mirror image) and a bear with cubs near the hotel, sunny Banff, Moraine Lake, the Icefields Parkway and having it snow in summer on Mounts Whistler and Blackcomb on the Peak 2 Peak. Butchart Gardens and Victoria a great start to the trip whilst Glacier Bay was truly amazing. Mount Grouse, ...read more Gastown and Capilano suspension bridge are must sees in Vancouver and fitting finale.
Excellent holiday through the Canadian Rockies and cruise through the Alaskan Inside Passage 14 , NSW, Australia, May 2018
Wonderful experience. Excellent organization. We were booked to have two days and one night on the Rocky Mountaineer, but due to no fault of either Travel Marvel or Rocky Mountaineer, one day on the Rocky Mountaineer was cancelled due to a rail strike. This was most disappointing as it was the highlight of our holiday. Rocky Mountaineer coached us ...read more from Banff to Kamloops and provided lunch and refreshments on the way, however, it was not what we paid for.

Accommodation provided through the Canadian Rockies was good, however Mike Wiegele Resort in Blue River was less than standard. The chalet was dusty, dark, damp and full of mosquitoes. I would not recommend anyone staying at this property.
Fabulous trip through the Rockies and Alaska 5 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2017
Global Journeys were very professional and well organized. I would feel confident booking another holiday with them. Travel Marvel were also well organized and efficient.
21 Day Reflections of the Rockies & Alaska Cruise (Travelmarvel)   13 , QLD, Australia, May 2017
This was a well planned, well executed and professionally organised Tour from the first contact with Global Journeys to our safe return. Victoria BC was a beautiful and quaint city (what a way to start) then off to Whistler the Winter Olympics Playground with so many things to experience. The countryside is to be experienced, words cannot justify the ...read more sights and this just kept on going through to Blue River, Jasper, Banff and then the incredible Rocky Mountaineer. Boarding the Ship in Vancouver was hassle free with our experienced guides leading the way.

The Nieuw Amsterdam was beyond our expectations with the many Restaurants, on-board activities (shows, nightclubs etc). Travelmarvel Excursions were well provided and well worthwhile, however, you should consider whether Holland America Excursions are value for money. Something to think about is the amount of time in Vancouver prior to the flight home.
Float plane optional excursion 5 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2015
Float plane from whistler to Victoria is the best optional excursion we paid for. We were left behind to catch up with our sleep while other people caught the coach to Victoria. When the schedule flight time comes, we just jumped in the plane and it only took 120mins to get to Victoria. The float plane flew low enough to view the glacier and other scenery. ...read more We even did a whale watching excursion in Victoria while waiting for others.
Best holiday destination possible 8 , QLD, Australia, May 2015
We have just returned from the best holiday destination possible. Everything from our booking with Global Journeys to our Travelmarvel Tour and the Holland America Cruise went without a hitch. We had upgraded to the Gold Leaf on the Rocky Mountaineer, which was simply awesome. The professionalism and attention to detail provided by the Rocky Mountaineer ...read more team was exceptional. We also upgraded to the Verandah Stateroom on the Cruise and once again was not disappointed. The highlight for me, was the surprise of a Lake View room given to all travellers on our tour, at Lake Louise. None of us new about the change until we opened the curtains, which in itself was amazing. I would not hesitate in recommending Global Journeys or Travelmarvel to anyone looking for an overseas holiday, and I will certainly be using both companies for future travels.
You won't be disappointed! 6 , Australia, Sep 2014
If you have never been to Canada or Alaska.... Go! You won't be disappointed! I didn't realise Canada has 'semi arid' grasslands in amongst its mountains, rain forests, snowy peaks and glaciers! The scenery and countryside changes by the hour as you travel through it. In Banff the temps were in the summery 20's the day we arrived - the day we departed ...read more it was snowing! The snow continued to fall as we arrived in Lake Louise making our stay there even more memorable. We saw bears, elk, otters and seals but what I absolutely loved was watching the little chipmunks and squirrels that didn't give a hoot if you were watching them as they went about their activities collecting for the coming winter. The Rocky Mountaineer capped of our couch tour perfectly. If you have travelled 'The Great Ocean Road' and thought it was great, then the scenery you will see from the train will knock your socks off. Travelling in Goldleaf for us made it so much more memorable. Do it, you won't be disappointed! The only disappointing thing about this holiday (for us) was that the cruise portion of the trip wasn't long enough. We would have liked to go all the way to Wittier rather than return back to Vancouver from Glacier Bay... but that's only a personal preference. If anyone is considering a holiday to Canada and/or Alaska, this product is a great starting point. Do it, you won't be disappointed!
