Pacific encounter   0 , QLD, Australia, Mar 2024
Fantastic trip, everything is perfect. There are so many shows and the services were good. Food was delicious. We will join again next time.
Good Value cruise to NZ with P&O   0 , QLD, Australia, Feb 2024
I did have a good time. Too long for me though - 14 day cruise with 5 shore days. I hate to queue which is a big part of ship life. Loved the kind, hard working staff and had lots of laughs and singalongs in the Encounter Hotel. Great price and no complaints about P&O.
80's Party revival     3 , VIC, Australia, Feb 2024
First experience on a cruise for both of us, we had an amazing time, plenty to do, great music and entertainment and fancy dress to turn back time. Food was great and drinks are normal prices. We will do it again!
P&O Australia Day Cruise   2 , NSW, Australia, Jan 2024
Global Journeys were great in arranging this cruise. Unfortunately P&O (sponsors of the Australia Day events on the harbour) severely let us down. Last time (2019) we were anchored in the middle of the action. We talked this up to some of the first time cruisers with our group. This year (2024) the harbour had very little action you could see from the ...read more ship. The much vaunted "Ferry Boat Race" did not even come near the ship. It rounded Fort Denison twice and most of that view was blocked by Navy Vessel L100, giving the elite dignitaries an excellent view and the loss to those on board the Ship. Food and entertainment on board was excellent - the show on the last night was spectacular.
A 5 day cruise which went in circles outside Brisbane     1 , SA, Australia, Jan 2024
Since I had not been on a cruise, I booked this 5 day cruise from Brisbane to Airlie Beach and back with P&O. Due to a cyclone, the vessel could not go to Airlie beach, so then just went in circles, with a stop off at Moreton Island, which is about 25 km from Brisbane. Despite the vessel looking old once on board, with peeling wall paper and obvious ...read more rust being painted over, the cruise experience was fine, with all staff helpful. Note that this was during school holidays so there were apparently 700 kids on board out of a total of 2900 passengers. The visit to Moreton Island was poorly organised since at the end of the visit, there were 100s of us stuck on a jetty with 30 degree heat and no shade for over an hour due to the slow and infrequent feeder boats between the island and the vessel. Hannah from Global Journeys was excellent in organising the booking at relatively short notice.
Excellent Holiday   1 , ACT, Australia, Dec 2023
This was our first Cruise and we've really enjoyed. Everything was awesome and nothing to complain about. P&O staff were very welcoming and their hospitality was great. We both very happy and looking forward to book for a another cruise after the next overseas holiday.
Five days to Melbourne   5 , New Zealand, Nov 2023
Worst cruise we ever have done! Cabin on the bow of the ship, nearest elevator the length of half the ship away. All so called complimentary dining venues sold out. Left only meals upstairs, always full and hard to get a table, walking with a walker and getting food was impossible! NEVER again on P&O Australia!
New Zealand cruise   2 , NSW, Australia, Nov 2023
We unfortunately didn't get to the mainland in New Zealand due to biosecurity issues with Pacific Adventure but we made the best of a bad situation for our first cruise ever. The staff, hospitality and food on the ship was remarkable. We were also satisfied with the 50 percent return of our trip. We are considering booking a New Guinea cruise sometime ...read more near April so you will probably hear from us then.
Kiwi Adventure   1 , WA, Australia, Nov 2023
Couldn't fault service from Hannah & colleagues - prompt, efficient with good communication. P&O is not the cruise-line they once were! Shocking offshore customer service, if you can find the right place to contact prior to embarkation or post cruise. Proper English speaking service that can solve problems is required. Guest services on ship very good. ...read more Solos not catered for. Food quite OK - mixed, fusion etc. Drinks (bar/restaurant not cheap). Too much promotion of beauty goods/services. Stabilizers work well (no pitch), entertainment half and half - some too smutty. Theatres are good accom. wise. Need more variety in day e.g. sports etc.

Smooth embarkation and disembarkation and airport transfer. Med centres are far too expensive on ships. How to justify? Full of families-many too young. Dress standards frequently low. Catering to Aussies. Too many bars and drinking non stop. Infection control not good enough - no health checks prior embarkation, and if a sick person sharing cabin, other was free to come and go, whilst the sick person is isolated! Cabin shower pokey, even for a very slim person. All cabin and waiting staff very polite and pretty efficient. Grateful for refunds/credits when we didn't get to destination NZ, so spent a lot of time at sea & sickness. It was bad not being able to berth NZ, forced to Tas and only berth Hobart, then to tiny town Eden -Pt Arthur was cancelled too. But for refunds/credit, I wouldn't choose P&O Aust or the same ship again. Then only a brief close to home trip. Decor is quite nice and basically a cheap trip. They have to solve this hull problem.
3 Day Cruise with the girls   0 , NSW, Australia, Nov 2023
Accommodation great, balcony room. While the seas were a bit rough on the way to Eden a good time was had by all. Great, good value high tea. Staffing levels on the ship were lacking especially in the bar areas and no service at your tables or deck chairs. Cruise provided all the usual activities so do as much as you want or as little as you want.
Tonga and Fiji cruise with P & O Explorer     2 , New Zealand, Nov 2023
Tracey was very helpful, quick and professional in helping us organize our cruise. Everything went smoothly. We had a lot of fun, the entertainment was exceptional.
Nice cruise to Fiji   5 , New Zealand, Nov 2023
The trip was amazing weather not so go but no much you can do about it we all loved and will do it again.
Whitsunday Cruise - Wow!     3 , QLD, Australia, Oct 2023
For a first cruise the Whitsunday cruise is unbeatable. The P&O terminal and onboard staff, from your welcome to your farewell, are so helpful. An abundance of activities for kids and adults to do. The menus at every eatery and restaurant provide a great choice for dining. Rooms are clean and the beds are so comfy. Easy and well organised tender service ...read more into Airley Beach to partake of the onshore activities. If you haven't done it yet, book your cruise now!
Why I don’t think I’ll cruise with P&O again   7 , NSW, Australia, Oct 2023
This is the first time that I have ever had to pay for poached eggs. ($4.00 each). This is the first time that I have hade to pay for an afternoon tea. ($40.00 each). A tour of the bridge, galley, recycling area and some other behind the scenes stuff (approx 1 hour) an incredible $195.00 each. There was plenty of food but it was repetitive, boring and ...read more never hot. The inclusive prices certainly weren’t inclusive. On the good side- the shows were great and the staff were amazing. We love cruising but will probably not cruise with P&O again
Family holiday   3 , Qld, Australia, Oct 2023
We went along to celebrate our daughter's birthday. 4 adjoining rooms (thanks Georgie) meant we were together. Food was great, rooms OK, not so but adequate. We had a good time with a lot of other people. Adults only pool horrible as to the smokers being there so no bonus for us but overall a good trip spend with the family.
Great cruise !   5 , NSW, Australia, Oct 2023
Global Journeys are fantastic. This was my 2nd cruise with them and I will never travel with any other company again. Nothing is ever a problem and any questions you have are answered promptly. Not to mention that their prices are cheaper than the cruise company's. Which is amazing.! Thanks Global Journeys for all your help .
Whirlwind family adventure through the Pacific!     5 , New Zealand, Sep 2023
It was a first family trip with our 4 year old, who was absolutely buzzing the entire time. From seeing the big ship, to tasting the yummy food, swimming in the pool to making lots of new friends onboard and that wasn't even including the island paradises of Noumea and Vanuatu! It was a great way to spend valuable family time and have a good break away ...read more from the norm. Look forward to future cruises hopefully next year.
Barrier Reef Discovery     4 , New Zealand, Sep 2023
Global Journeys and particularly Rachael were beyond helpful and easy to deal with, even though we were in different countries - Thank you Rachael. It was the first cruise my husband and I have ever been on and so have nothing to compare it with but we did enjoy the cruise. The entertainment was top notch and the food was good too. I would recommend ...read more the drinks package even though we did not drink anything like 15 drinks a day - it is still the cheaper option. Our balcany room was great - I even saw a mother whale with her baby on her back swim right below our deck - unfortunately I did not have my camera - pooh! I recommend booking excursions with P&O because it is difficult to match times with external companies and we had to forgo one of our bookings or miss the boat. All in all - a great experience - thank you.
Cruise was awesome     4 , QLD, Australia, Jun 2023
Our cruise was awesome. Weather was fabulous. Saw a few whales and some dolphins. Airlie Beach was lovely as usual. Will go there again but will probably do another one a bit longer. Global Journeys were awesome and Jemma was fantastic - will definitely deal with her again.
Pacific Explorer   8 , NSW, Australia, May 2023
We went from Fremantle to Cairns on The Pacific Explorer leaving on the 18th May 2023 for 10 days. There had been an engine problem the day before and the arrival time was delayed by 4 hours, because of this it was a bit of a shambles boarding. Our accommodation was upgraded to E deck that is Level 6 and in a very convenient position. It was on the ...read more same floor as The Dragon Lady and Angelo's restaurants and one floor above the Waterfront restaurant. The shopping arcade was also on that level and it was only a small flight of stairs up to the entertainment level or one flight down to the coffee lounge.

The cabin was an older style compared to the rest of the ship that has been refurbished, but it had plenty of room and huge window, however the bathroom was very small. There were 4 free restaurants with The Pantry being a buffet style while the others were À la carte. Plenty of entertainment but the two main shows cost $20 also the Bingo was $30 for 5 cards, so worked out very expensive if you played twice per day as some people did.

The weather was sunny every day, but windy and there were high seas at Exmouth , so the shore tours were cancelled and money refunded. Kuri bay was the next stop and was a pearl farm only excursion that was unsuitable for anyone who was unsteady on their feet as it was a rough unpaved path going up hill, that meant that many people could not go ashore as it was only for the guided excursion or a sea plane ride.

Darwin was a dock with a variety of excursions and Port Douglas was by large tender and offered a variety of excursions as well. Cairns was the final port and we no problems disembarking, although it took a while to catch a taxi. I would be happy to travel with P&O again presuming that their other ships are of the same standard.
