I enjoyed this tour a lot. The group was very good, we had an excellent guide and driver. Highly recommended tour. Best G Adventures tour for me so far. The booking through Global Journeys went very smoothly (main reason to not book directly with G Adventures was the better price tag).

Just the perfect way to end a 10 week South American tour. The guide, people, and the history were unforgettable. A relaxing way to end the trip.

The guide on this trip was very knowledgeable and was able to provide in-depth information on the customs of all sorts of indigenous Ecuadorian people, plants and wildlife (from what to eat and which bugs can kill you), to the layout of the land. I felt like this was more than an introduction to Ecuador but it still left me wanting more.

I would've never chosen any of the accommodations for myself, however they were all very comfortable and charming. Free bottled water and breakfast included everywhere. If you love nature, wildlife and love to explore places less travelled by other tourists then this is a fantastic trip.

From the busy cities of Fes and Marrakech and Roman ruins of Volubilis dating back to 1BC to the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas Mountains and the Sahara desert, this tour is all encompassing. A fast-paced trip as I like it, offering endless variety for all my senses and camera. A knowledgeable guide who was proud to show us his country and put together a good mix of restaurants, picnic stops, markets and rest stops into the itinerary.

The tour was great, the hotel was good & in the center of town. We were picked up in Lima on time & everything was perfect. The flight over the Nazca lines was wonderful & so was the boat trip out to Ballestas Islands. Our guide was good & gave us lots of information on the area & sunset in the desert was beautiful.

It was an incredibly intense tour of the country. I can't imagine doing it any other way. The CEO and step on guides were outstanding. Hiking the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu was the highlight.

A nine day trip including the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of Iguassu Falls which was the highlight of the tour. Neil, the tour leader, was well organised, knowledgeable and energetic, including everyone in activities. Nacho was shadowing him and will be great in the role.

Ultimate Italy was an excellent small group tour and our third trip with G Adventures. We had a great time, our CEO Chiara was a beautiful person full of energy and enthusiasm. We mostly had enough time to see or do everything we wanted, more than one night stay makes a difference. Wendy and I recommend this trip and we found Global Journeys helpful as well. Just do it!

We had long wanted to visit Croatia, but to go beyond the busy tourist centers and islands. The Local Living in Croatia tour provided the opportunity to become familar with life on a family farm in Lovorno in the Konovale region south of Dubrovnik. It was an outstanding week in every way - outstanding traditional food and wine, a variety of activities in the local area, excellent accommodation, but most of all, hosted by a wonderful extended family in a villa on their property which has been in the family for several centuries. They were so extraordinarily generous sharing their knowledge, their life and family histories, their customs and making us extremely welcome. This must be THE BEST TOUR ACTIVITY EVER! We strongly recommend it to others and thank Global Journeys for facilitating the booking.

Small group of only 9 with mixed ages. Great young enthusiastic tour leader plus exceptional crew on barge. Very hot in August and many shops closed in the small villages. Bike rides through vineyards were terrific.

Great way to travel in a small group with a young enthusiastic tour leader. Loved the three night stay on the island off Estonia. Some hotels basic but the price reflects this. They were all comfortable.

There were many memorable moments on this G Adventures trip: 'Essential Vietnam and Cambodia'. Some of the best highlights included: the overnight cruise on the tranquil Halong Bay surrounded by breathtaking scenery, kayaking and swimming in it's waters, the motorbike trip through the backstreets and in the countryside of Hue City, overnight train journey, cycling around Hoi An countryside, the noodle making class, shopping at the local markets, visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise and the many amazing temples, Cambodia's countryside ... and many more special moments captured on camera. Our small group encountered so many friendly locals and dined at restaurants as well as street food outlets - It’s was all about atmosphere and ambience! We had a wonderful guide, Bun, who loves his job and his country (Cambodia) and made us love it too.

This tour was a fantastic introduction to Japan, its culture and cities. The highlights for me were Hiroshima and Miyajima although Koyasan was very spiritual. I would definitely return to Japan again and explore other places.

Our G Adventures 'Backroads of Japan' was a wonderful experience. Our CEO Kiyoe was very friendly, knowledgeable and helped us with all aspects of the journey including assisting us with transportation details when we had independent time.
We had three days in Tokyo, which gave us an opportunity to meet with other group members. We went to Takayama, Kurashiki, Nagano and Kyoto. We learned about the culture and history of Japan and relevant information about each region we visited. Staying in a ryokan was a unique experience and the meals provided were highlights.

Another great benefit was that this tour usually runs with up to 15 people. We were fortunate to have only six people in our group. Overall, it was a very rewarding experience. I enjoyed the variety of transport used, with the shinkansen trips a highlight. Yvonne Brooks at Global Journeys was very helpful and I would not hesitate to contact her regarding another tour.

This was a fantastic tour, which easily exceeded our expectations. The itinerary is well designed, and while you can’t see everything in 2 weeks, it does tick most of the boxes. The use of domestic flights does remove some of the drudgery of all day trips, although you are paying extra for this of course. Flying in India does consume a fair chunk of the day still, but is obviously more relaxing overall.

Our guide was exceptional and very experienced. He carefully planned the schedule each day and often made minor modifications and adjustments, all of which were improvements. He always got the consent of the group before making any changes. A couple of the extra highlights he arranged were getting us into the Taj Mahal first, with a professional photographer, so we all got individual people-free photos in front of the Taj, which is no mean feat. He also organised two musicians (sitar and tabla), to accompany us on our dawn boat ride on the Ganges, which was a magical experience. He knew many good restaurants - paying as you go for most meals was good, because you don’t always feel like a big meal.

The pace of the tour may be a bit demanding in the first week, with 4 or 5 consecutive early starts, but if you examine the itinerary, you can see these are all worthwhile. Overall, it’s fine and there is good variation in the tour, both in sightseeing and travel mode. Our small group of 13 all got along very well and the provided buses and local guides were all great.

Being a National Geographic version of a G Adventure tour did seem to make the whole experience more comfortable and informative, while still having many opportunities to connect with local people. The small town visit to Jojawar was very rewarding. The company’s commitment to assisting the local disadvantaged appeared quite genuine as well.

If you can manage it, I would suggest perhaps spending an extra day in Delhi, to check out some of the sights missed on this tour eg. Huyamans Tomb, Red Fort etc. Getting around Delhi by car is a real pain however, so either do this on Sunday when the roads are quieter (i.e. the last day of this tour), or use the modern Metro rail system.

Had a fantastic time, lots and lots of fun. Some of the accommodation was a little basic with no hot water for showers. But I spent a lot of time out and about so it didn't bother me too much. Had an awesome group of people from around the world aging from 20 to 70.

Thanks Global Journeys for indulging my last minute call for assistance in being put on stand by for this trip. It was so great to secure a spot and be able to join the tour to Cuba. Thanks to a great tour guide Carlos and our driver I had a wonderful experience.

The group I was travelling with, including an old friend, were great company. The core activities and optional extras were all well explained, accessible and realised my expectations of the Cuban experience. My favorite experience was an optional walk to the limestone caves. It was $20 for four hours with a wonderful guide and a chance to meet local farmers, hang out with climbers scaling limestone ridges and chill out in a field drinking an amazing grapefruit, honey, pineapple and rum drink served in the grapefruit with a straw.

A few people on the tour had tummy troubles and our hotel in Cuba did not have a great street presence. Clearly all part of the Cuba experience. It was so good not to see the chain stores or hotels and to discover the Cuban lifestyle through our home stays and tours. A really unique and thrilling experience.
