Excellent North America Tour   0 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2023
Was an exceptional tour to see the most in a short amount of time. As a solo traveller from Australia to never have been to the USA yet was a real adventure and dream come true. The tour guide was average though, very basic and had been in his job for far too long, had lost the spark of travel I think. The hotels were amazing and superiorly comfortable ...read more no issues there. There was a lot of free time so it was up to yourself to get how much out of the trip you wanted. So if you planned and looked into things you wanted to do in the town you were in or travelling to, a day or two ahead then it was epic. However, if you weren't on the ball and waiting for someone to tell you what to do all the time you would have missed out.

Initiative and planning went a long way in this trip. I think at the very start of the trip a group dinner and meet and greet should have been formally arranged at an appropriate time to break the ice and get to know everyone as I found we were meeting people and getting to know people much further into the trip when it definitely should have been arranged from the start as there were so many nice people in the tour that had we been properly introduced from the start we would have done things together on the trip in our free time as we had common interests. Either way this trip is worth doing if you want to see many highlights in North America in only two weeks.
Great tour all round 3 , WA, Australia, May 2019
Had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour from booking to the end of the tour every detail was looked after. Saw wonderful sights, attended great optional tours, stayed great hotels. My tour director Judy was the best I've had, nothing was too much for her to do. Our driver was experienced interactive. Great tour all round, recommend for sure.
Amazing snapshot of the American Southwest   2 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
This 12 day tour was a fantastic way to see the highlights of the southwest in a short space of time. Grand Canyon was a personal highlight for me. Unfortunately due to wildfires we couldn’t go to Yosemite but went to Sequoia National Park instead. Our tour guide, Craig was fantastic! He was knowledgeable of all our stops and kept us entertained the ...read more whole trip!
Western Wonders 1 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2018
A very enjoyable trip and appreciated the assistance from Jemma of Global Journeys. Highly recommend their services. Randy was our tour guide for the whole journey and his services were marvellous. He is an experienced, knowledgeable and attention to details type of person. This is the first time we engaged on a Cosmos tour and certainly won’t be the ...read more last.
A taste of the National Parks and cities in the West. 4 , SA, Australia, Aug 2017
Yosemite and Grand Canyon were the highlight of the tour for us, having previously enjoyed the Trans America NY to LA tour and the Bryce Canyon, Zion, South side of Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. The hotels were good and the pace of the tour perfect. Our Tour Director was excellent. He was passionate about nature and shared his knowledge at every opportunity. ...read more The bus was very comfortable and our driver was excellent. They were a great team, always cheerful, friendly and willing to oblige.
Great insight to the West Coast ofUSA 2 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2017
Excellent Cosmos tour of the West Coast of USA. The tour exceeded my expectations, we visited some great cities and we enjoyed exceptional sight seeing opportunities and experiences. Would strongly recommend travelling with Cosmos and booking through Global Journeys.
Worry free 3 , QLD, Australia, Apr 2017
We always book online and have found our trips run very well. Flights and tours go together without problems. Tour itself run perfectly with Ken Hartman at the helm. Perfect time to travel as weather was good and the snow was still melting in places.
12 Day Western Wonders Cosmos 2 , VIC, Australia, Oct 2016
We really enjoyed the natural wonders we visited on this Tour. The Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Muir Woods were an experience not to be missed. Of the cities, San Francisco was the standout.
Interesting look at California and the desert.   3 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2016
The highlight for us was San Francisco and the Grand Canyon. Our coach driver Dave was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Our lack of commentary was the downside, because we got to learn very little about the areas we travelled through.
Fabulous Trip 2 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
I went on the Western Wonders tour at the last minute with no idea what to expect as this was the first tour group I've been on. This trip exceeded our expectations Cosmos tour director Craig Cherry and Driver Randy looked after everyone on the trip. Everyone in our group were so nice and all got on well. The trip being 12 days gave us time to look ...read more around each place without being too rushed. I was away for 20 days all up and this was my highlight due to the way the tour was operated. Thank you, we will remember this always and have made friends for all over the globe.
Satisfied with all the arrangements of the tour 6 , WA, Australia, Sep 2015
This was the first tour that I had taken as a 'Single' and I was satisfied with all the arrangements of the tour. Our Tour Leader, Randy, was very professional manner but was friendly and very helpful in suggesting things that would suit me. Our coach driver JR Junior - was a total gentleman all the trip. Just enough to keep us on our toes without being worn out. I was good having option nights for those that just wanted a quite one. Now that I have done this I will definitely look at doing another one in the near future without any hesitation.
Excellent variety of experiences 1 , WA, Australia, Sep 2015
Excellent variety of experiences from Hollywood to Grand Canyon to San Francisco. All enjoyable....would definitely travel with Cosmos on my next adventure.
Excellent tour with plenty of time to explore 5 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2015
Our Tour Guide Ken helped make this a great trip and our Coach Driver Randy was excellent. The drive from San Francisco down the coast to Los Angeles was a real highlight. The seafood restaurants in San Francisco and Monterey were fantastic and so many to choose from. The scenery along this part of the trip was very good. The optional tour to Universal ...read more Studios in Los Angeles was not so good because we were there on a weekend with great weather and there were too many people there. The Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park provided scenery that is as good as anywhere else in the world that we have seen. Travelling some of Route 66 and stopping in one of the old towns (Seligman) was interesting. Three nights in Las Vegas was about right, particularly if you want to see some of the live shows on offer. This was an excellent tour with plenty of time to explore for yourself. Ken gave really good tips about what to see and where to eat for each stop.
A good route 1 , NZ, New Zealand, May 2015
A good route, however I would have preferred less time in Los Angeles and an extra day in Las Vegas. Our tour spent a night in a place called Modesto, although I am not sure why as there was nothing here and the area wasn't very desirable. If you choose a guaranteed share be warned that there is no thought put into who you end up sharing with. I was ...read more placed with a woman that I had absolutely nothing in common with. This spoilt my holiday to a certain degree. So if you can afford to upgrade to your own room it would be worth the extra cost.
The tour was well organised and ran on time and schedule 2 , Australia, Oct 2014
The tour was well organised and ran on time and schedule. It met all our expectation regarding content and experience. The tour guide was fantastic, an endless source of useful and practical information and a great sense of humour. The coach had loo stops about every two hours, however the coach had a loo on-board for emergency use. Wi-Fi was available ...read more on the coach at no additional cost. Baggage was taken care of from arrival to leaving at each overnight stop, being delivered and picked up from the room. The coach driver was careful and a safe driver, and all the participants were extremely happy with his skills in a busy driving environment. The hotels were fine. Most were close to eating spots or convenience stores where food and supplies were available. All hotels, except one had fridge and coffee making facilities. All except one had Wi-Fi. Optional tours were well organised and price competitive. Lastly the folks at Global Journeys did a great job and the detailed itinerary, specific for the tour was detailed and comprehensive.
Grand Canyon was something we will always remember 1 , Australia, Sep 2014
We had a fantastic trip Garratt and David made our trip one to remember. The Grand Canyon was something we will always remember as a highlight in our trip.
A really great holiday 1 , Australia, Jul 2014
We had a wonderful tour director. Linda was run off her feet trying to meet the needs of the passengers on the overcrowded coach. Every seat including the one next to her in the front and the 2 dicky seats down the back were taken. Our first day started off badly when the coach to take us around LA would not start. Linda made some compensations ...read more which appeared to satisfy most of the travellers and from there on everything went reasonably well and we finished off having a really great holiday.
Returned with some amazing photos and life experiences 3 , Australia, May 2014
A chance to see the Grand Canyon... I really enjoyed the layout of the Western Wonders tour on paper and anticipated a great time. What I completely forgot about was to consider the temperature at the time of the tour. It didn't strike me that I was doing a desert tour until I landed in LA! As someone who hides indoors in airconditioned comfort when ...read more it hits the high 20's I was completely unprepared to find the majority of the tour would be in the high 30's/low 40's - even though it was just at the start of summer. It was such a simple oversight but it impacted on the whole trip - inappropriate clothes, inappropriate footwear, inability to explore on foot as much as I anticipated (and I'm a GREAT walker). Thankfully the coach carried bottled water for purchase at a very reasonable price. The stops were also very well arranged - plenty of opportunities to explore new sights and cities. Some of the accommodation sites lacked air conditioning or room fridges - and so next time I travel into similar climes I'm prepared to pay a little extra for my creature comforts. Similarly with breakfasts. I wont travel again on a package where it's not included (but that's a purely personal thing). Trying different routines and things is one of the benefits of travel. My tour guide, Linda Perez, was extremely helpful and knowledgable. The trip would not have been the same without her. I'd happily tour with her again. Though I'd avoid Hunan Homes' Chinese reastaurant in San Francisco (which she raved about)... I don't think that they expected our party to be so large so squashed more of us onto tables but did not proportionally increase the servings. A few of the serving dishes emptied before completing the circuit of the table. I wasn't the only one who went out for a burger afterwards! Pity, because what was served was actually tasty. Personally speaking, I've travelled a Cosmos tour (Canada) with a lot more extras for not that much more money per day. That's the benchmark I'd set for considering future tours. Some of the Western Wonders tour had quite comfortable accommodation, but a couple of nights were definitely under 3 stars (maybe 2.5). This wouldn't influence my recommending the tour to anyone - I'd just make them aware that sometimes the bathrooms wouldn't have exhaust fans or fridges in rooms were optional extras. Everywhere the linen was clean and there were plenty of pillows. This time the tour selected was influenced by the finishing date of another trip. It's made me aware that staying a few extra days in a city is a worthwhile expense rather than taking the first available connecting tour. That being said, I'm extremely glad to have taken this tour and have returned with some amazing photos and life experiences, plus I've met an interesting assortment of fellow travellers. I couldn't have done this staying home.
Tour was good but no meals included was inconvenient at times 1 , Australia, Aug 2013
The western wonders tour with Cosmos was good but with no meals included was inconvenient at times. The accommodation in San Francisco was just satisfactory. Frances & Michelle from Global Journeys were absolutely brilliant thanks girls.
It was so well organized and easy, we had a blast 1 , Australia, Jun 2013
This was the first organized bus holiday my husband and myself had been on and will be booking another Cosmos tour next year to the east coast . It was so well organized and easy, the places we visited were so interesting and the people on the bus were so much fun.
