Paris, Normandy and the Loire Reviews

The trip was wonderful. I'd never been to northern France - only Paris, so I learnt a lot of the history about northern France. My highlight was visiting the D-Day beaches.

Excellent tour especially for the price which was very reasonable. Hotel rooms were small and average but for the price that is all I expected and they were adequate. Great time in Paris, met great people, became friends, and had a real relaxing holiday looked after well by the coordinator. Really enjoyed the adventure.

We were very happy with this tour. It was not luxurious, but it was good value for money. Maybe the company could raise the price a little and then include a few extras, like hot drinks after included meals etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Jewels of France tour but would have preferred the pace to have been a little more leisurely. Too many places visited in too short a time. Although the optional tours were very good considered them a little expensive. Many thanks for your organization of our tour.

This was an excellent tour, just the right pace and group size. Our tour director, Corina was excellent, the best we have had so far. The places we visited were so well chosen we were very impressed. The hotel accommodation and facilities not always the best. Meal inclusions were of average standard. The optional tours where meals were involved were expensive for what you got and the wine at one of the meals was terrible. Tasted like it was watered down. Some activities were just a redo of previous activities, so same thing, different town. Quality of the tour guide made it. Simeon was excellent. Very informative and entertaining. This was my first time travelling on an organised itinerary as I usually travel unguided. The rushed schedule every morning did not really appeal and by the last day felt quite worn out.

I'm a first time tour user. I found the guide, Jenny, to be a friendly, well organised and informative leader. She was most helpful with anyone with problems or issues. The tour itself was fun and the fellow travellers were easy to be with. The welcome dinner night was fantastic and a good way to break the ice. The Louvre, Versailles and the Chateau were very amazing. Accommodation was mostly good, though on our return to Paris, although the hotel was fantastic, the area felt a little unsafe for a lady on her own. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Global Journeys.

The tour director (Riccardo Camillion) always excelled at finding ways to make the trip more interesting. The hotels were well located in relation to ammenities. My only comment for improvement would be that some of the Program was reduced to centre on the 'optional tours'. For example, the included sightseeing tour of Paris was brief and left out some of the items in the brochure (the Opera, Invalides, the Pyramid near the Louvre) so that the optional tour of the Louvre could start.

Tour director Riccardo is excellent - very efficient in organisation, friendly and informative. Room is too small in IBIS Deauville. Generally free wifi should be provided in all hotels. The optional regional dinner in Amboise is only average and not value for money.

The tour guide Rajah absolutely made this tour. She went out of her way to be helpful. Her knowledge of French History was brilliant and in each town she walked us through to our meeting place with commentary all the way. She was funny, happy and enjoyed our company too! Cosmos represents good value for money in France. I have also travelled with Cosmos in Canada and USA and the story is similar.

Enjoyed our Cosmos tour to Normandy. Frances at Global Journeys was very helpful in organising everything and answering our questions before departure.

Fantastic tour guide (Rickardo) and driver (Dominic), Great guys. Hotels were better than I expected. Good tour, great fun. I am now looking forward to my next trip in the future. Yvonne at Global Journeys was very efficient with the arrangements, and I will call on her again next time.

It was our first Bus Tour and we will probably do more. Our tour guide, Ricardo was excellent, knowledgeable and very easy to get along with, and a couple of the local guides were also very good. Out of all the hotels we stayed in only one was very disappointing, thankfully it was only for one night. ...read more For ease of travel it was great and we didn't have to worry about our luggage for the whole tour, it was always on the bus for us and in our hotel room when we arrived, my husband loved that. The provision of battery operated tour guides was fantastic and these were used both with Riccardo's commentary as well as other guides employed for specific sites and tours. The pace of the tour was comfortable and generally accommodation satisfactory. The Ibis at Deauville was not up to anyone's expectations, especially the dinner and Riccardo will most probably have reported his own dissatisfaction to Cosmos. Otherwise the accommodation and dinners provided met expectations. The optional Welcome Dinner in Paris on the first night was great fun and what a super venue. A true introduction to Paris. The other optional dinner whilst we stayed in Amboise at a little family restaurant we found very good and a true indication of French life and dining. We feel Riccardo was not truly satisfied but the general reception by the touring group was good. We were so happy with our first coach tour that we feel we will take another sometime in the future and Cosmos will be top of our list for consideration. Our first coach tour and certainly not our last! Our tour leader Simeon was wonderful! Helpful, fun, approachable and amusing.
