In-depth tour of Tasmania     0 , WA, Australia, Mar 2024
I had a fabulous time on the small group Bunnik tour of Tasmania. We were lucky to have had only 10 people! Our wonderful guide Kerry was so informative and always available for assistance/suggestions of where to eat etc. Tom Bunnik who also travelling with us was equally helpful and added his unique sense of humour! I was travelling on my own but didn’t f ...read moreeel lonely… thank you! Thank you to Hannah who was very efficient at all times answering my emails quickly and on the phone queries just as efficiently.
Fun, friendly tour with gorgeous scenery   0 , Ontario, Canada, Feb 2024
We had a great time exploring Tasmania with Bunnik. The guide and driver, Paul and Kerry, were fantastic. Kind, funny, and professional. We had amazing weather in February and saw many beautiful places. Having a 20-person group with a full-sized coach was awesome. The coach itself was also very roomy and comfortable--lots of leg room, USB chargers, ...read more etc. We'd happily travel with Bunnik again!
Highlights of Jordan and Egypt Review   0 , NSW, Australia, Nov 2023
A great adventure for in depth ancient history buffs of Jordan and Egypt.

The tour guides were locals, confident, experienced, very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and well organised, always conscious of our safety and well being. They told us what pitfalls to be aware of when shopping and touring. However, often, there was information overload, ...read more leaving insufficient time for exploring, which was quite disappointing, especially, for many, this was a bucket list destination.

The tour in Jordan was enjoyable with its varied activities. However, that in Egypt was heavily concentrated on rushing to visit as many tombs as possible, so we soon became “tombed”out. A more leisurely pace with time to enjoy some of the beautiful hotels on the Nile and an exploration of modern Egypt would have created a more enjoyable experience.

The accommodation was a mixture of very modern exclusive hotels, some bygone ones in the process of being renovated and one unwelcoming, very basic, old Wadi Rum “glamp”. Thank goodness for the lovely, modern Movenpick cruise boat which softened the blow, with its wonderful crew and experienced chefs!

The variety of foods was an experience, a mixture of delicious to wanting, as in Wadi Rum where you couldn’t even have toast! Often, dishes were comparatively very salty and heavily spiced, just how the locals like it?

The Bunnik tour was pricey for such inconsistent accommodation and food options but we felt very safe, well looked after and happy to be with a small group of lovely easy going Aussie fellow travellers. You will have fun, if you are willing to go with the flow.

To stay well, don’t eat the salad, even in five star hotels, or use ice and always use bottled water, even for brushing your teeth! This was made easy with Bunnik providing an endless supply of complimentary bottled, water!

Lastly, I must commend Global Journeys and Bunnik for their professional and dedicated staff, who are always happy to answer our questions and concerns.

Georgie Walpole was an efficient and courteous agent to work with. Overall, we enjoyed the trip to northern Japan. Nature and Japan did not disappoint. The tour itinerary was not always to our liking - too many shrine and brewery visits, when other more interesting sites were possible to see. Insufficient time in Tokyo and Sapporo. Insufficient time ...read more allowed between connecting international flights. A lot of unnecessary stress and a very near miss of our connection from Tokyo to Singapore.
South Australia trip with Bunnik     1 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2023
It was a lovely trip. Accommodation was beautiful, I felt like I was a queen. The food was wonderful. I have only criticism about the first and last meals together were not good. The coach driver talked non stop telling stuff about his girl etc that wasn’t interesting. The coach broke down a few ones and had to be replaced. The guides Kate and Michelle ...read more did a wonderful job and were quick at handling any issues. The best place was the seals and kolas on kangaroo island. I would recommend this tour to others. I made new friends and had a lovely time.
Turkey     0 , Australia, Sep 2023
Loved the trip, loved the country. Good mix of fellow travellers- now all friends - and very knowledgeable guide. We’d love to return to the Mediterranean and Aegean areas to spend more time - we’d have liked more free time (maybe even extra days free) in these areas in particular as the schedule was full on. The cave hotel was interesting to see - ...read more our room was fine (apart from the overflowing shower) but others had rooms that would be ok for 1 night maybe, definitely not for 4. OHS lacking. Food at cave hotel was awful & staff unhelpful unlike other places we stayed, although some hotel buffets were not great. Ballooning in Cappadocia amazing.
Stress free Sri Lanka.   0 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent Bunnik tour of Sri Lanka. Everything from the pick up at the air port to the drop off 17 days later ran very smoothly. The accommodation was great as was the choice of meals. There were only 6 on this tour and we all got on very well. Our tour guide and all other hosts we had were friendly, knowledgeable and passionate ...read more about what they did and their country. Services we received were exceptional. We had some great experiences and there were many lovely touches, such as our welcome cocktails in the mangroves, followed by a BBQ accompanied by a couple playing instruments and singing. The cold face cloths provided on the humid days after experiences were very welcome. Thanks to Global for their organisation. We would recommend both Global and Bunnik to those planning a holiday.
Cultural Overload of Turkiye & Greece   1 , SA, Australia, Aug 2023
We both thoroughly enjoyed touring Turkiye and Greece, having not been to both since travelling from London to Kathmandu in the early seventies. We travelled with a group mostly in their 60's and 70's apart from a 28 year old travelling with her mother. She mixed really well with the oldies. The camaraderie amongst the group of 20 made it very pleasant ...read more travelling and fun. Accommodation consisted of mainly 4 and 5 star hotels all of which were of a high standard. European bathrooms are not always easy to manage with slippery, narrow baths and showers which flood the floors. Luckily there were no accidents!

Both tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, the Turkiye guide proudly telling us about his country. Both had detailed descriptions of the ancient ruins, at times most of us felt we were overloaded with information and not able to digest everything.
A 3 day cruise to Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini were included but excursions to the islands had to be paid for. The costs were a ripoff , particularly Santorini where buses had to wait for others to clear and crushing crowds made the visit less enjoyable.
Highlights of the 23 days were ballooning at Cappadocia, tasty meals, some of the ancient ruins, Meteora and the monasteries in the north of Greece and the Plaka in Athens. I would certainly recommend this trip but to be aware of the long days with limited freetime and the emphasis being on ancient ruins.

Booking with Global Journeys makes our travels worry free. Hannah is supportive and professional at all times. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Bunnik. Very Enjoyable   0 , NSW, Australia, May 2023
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour for various reasons. The 20 people on the tour were a harmonious mixed group of singles and couples but mainly all with wide travel experience. It was a pleasure to travel with them. Our guide in Italy/Sicily was Flavio. He was very patient and went out of his way to ensure that things went well and to attend to any ...read more problems that occurred along the way.

Our bus driver was Gabrielo who deserves a medal for the way he negotiated our bus in some very interesting and tight places. Only comment on the bus is that we did not have WiFi. We had different local guides in some of the places we visited and they contributed to the enjoyment of the day. Our guide in Malta was Cynthia. She was very very efficient and knowledgeable and contributed to our greater understanding of Malta.

There were several minor hiccups along the way but they were overcome and in their own way contributed to the travel experience. The hotel in Rome is listed as a four star. I think this is a bit of an exaggeration and it is a three star at best. The remainder of the accommodation was OK for me as my needs are simple but some of the other people had problems with their rooms. These problems were corrected either by the person themselves or our guide. I thought that the trip to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel was not worth the effort. Both places were grossly overcrowded and you were unable to really stop and absorb anything. I got the impression that it was just a huge money making enterprise designed to push through as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time possible.

The other cities and towns we visited were good and, as mentioned before, we had local guides in many of them. Our last day in Sicily was good but a lot of time was wasted as our ferry to Malta did not leave until 9.30pm. As such we arrived at our hotel in Malta at midnight and then after check in and baggage it was much later before getting to bed. I would suggest that the last day in Sicily be compressed and that the transfer to Malta be on an earlier ferry. Overall, I had a great time and I am pleased that I went on this tour.
Southern Italy with Bunnik   1 , NSW, Australia, May 2023
This was a very busy tour filled with lots of activities. I really enjoyed the UNESCO Roman and Megalithic sights included. Our tour's pizza making was a highlight. Although I traveled in May Italy was very busy and unfortunately we had a lot of rain. Our tour director could have been more helpful with interesting facts on the bus. Other than that it ...read more was a great tour with a lot of wonderful UNESCO sights.
Wonderful tour of Japan   4 , QLD, Australia, Mar 2023
Tour was fantastic, everything I could have wanted for a first trip to Japan! An awful lot is packed into the 2 weeks of this tour, and some great experiences included. Be prepared for a lot of walking as you explore all of the sights. I think I averaged about 15,000 steps per day. Hotels were excellent quality as were all of the included meals. Transport ...read more was also great - predominantly by bus but also used Shinkansen, local trains and subway at various times which was good to experience. All the attractions tours & experiences were included so no surprise out-of-pocket expenses - in fact we spent very little outside of the tour cost, just meals which can be cheap or expensive depending on what you want to do - so much choice in Japan!

I need to go back just to try all the food I didn’t get to try. Having a small group makes all the difference, with only 20 people you can fit a lot more in and it’s easier to keep track of the group and also get to know them. Our tour guide Asano was fantastic. I would definitely choose Bunnik again for the small group, quality accommodation & transport, great itinerary and included experiences. The only thing I didn’t really like was that the included flights were via Singapore - a direct flight would have been much better. But if you are going to do that I recommend stopping over in Singapore for a couple of days on the way back to break up the trip.

Tasmania in Depth by Bunnik   0 , QLD, Australia, Mar 2023
A first-time trip with Bunnik. Tracey, of Global Journeys, arranged our booking and ably sent us on our way. Thank you to Jemma of Global Journeys in assisting in the organisation of our Japan Discovery tour with Bunnik.

Wonderful Tour to Jordan and Egypt     0 , VIC, Australia, Oct 2022
The tour was well organized and efficiently run. The hotels were good to very good except the one at the Dana Biosphere which was not a finished hotel and many issues involved. Fabulous Discover South Australia Tour with Bunnik.   1 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2022
We were most pleased to have Marion as our tour leader. She is a lovely lady. Fabulous scenery on Kangaroo Island and the Flinders Ranges and fortunate to see Rock Wallabies frolicking in a canyon in Wilpen Pound. The accommodation was of a high standard and all provided meals were good to excellent except on Kangaroo Island where the first breakfast was delayed for over half an hour for several of our group and the packed lunch of very poor standard. Also, I would have preferred lodgings on Kangaroo Island to be at a place where we could purchase a meal from a fast food place rather than being forced to pay the high prices at our hotel.
Very good tour   0 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2022
I throughly enjoyed this holiday. Having only 20 people made it possible to know everyone. The group I went with were wonderful. We had no disagreements and got on very well. The holiday was even better than how it was advertised. All hotels were four-star and clean. The guides were superb and the inclusions were excellent. The programme was varied and very exciting.
