Beautiful Canada Trip and Fun Cruise to Alaska 0 , NSW, Australia, May 2022
We eventually got to experience this trip after several years of cancellations due to Covid. So glad we decided to bite the bullet and go ahead in May, regardless of the threat of Covid. May I say the level of cleaning on both the Rocky Mountaineer, our APT Coach (thank you Lennie for your wonderful driving, witty comments and dedicated hand sanitising ...read more duties) and the incredible Holland America Zuiderdam ship, was outstanding.

Sure, we had to wear our masks on occasions, but I think that we all appreciated the extra level of safety they gave. The trip was very good. Our Tour Director, Jaqi, was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and she made sure everyone was looked after and didn't have to worry about a thing. She was very informative and friendly and made our trip so easy. The accommodations were beautiful (my only regret was that we couldn't stay longer in some places - especially Jasper. The Fairmont at Jasper was beautiful - gorgeous cabins in an outstanding location). I think most of our group shared this sentiment, as there were a few long days (early starts) on the Coach, but we covered quite a lot of ground.

The cruise to Alaska was amazing - Glacier Bay - wow. It was very relaxing and it was a shame when it all came to an end. We had a fantastic group of people, who all got on extremely well and we had lots of fun. Thanks again to Jaqi and Lennie for making the trip so effortless. Thanks to Georgie at Global Journeys for her help over the last two years in eventually getting us to Canada/Alaska after all the cancellations etc due to the pandemic.

Wonderful tour with APT, very well organised, great tour guides and coach driver. Cruise to Alaska was very relaxing after a hectic ground tour.
Flawless & an Amazing Holiday 0 , VIC, Australia, May 2019
We had the best holidays of our lifetime! Everything was top notch, from the excellent service from Jemma at Global Journeys, our very professional APT Tour Director Mary, coach driver Rob and our Alaska cruise guide, the lovely Cara, they just made the whole trip almost flawless, first class in every way.

They really looked after us very well and ...read more exceeded our expectations. We had a terrific holiday. A huge thank you to all especially Jemma, she was extremely helpful, provided great guidance with the trip from the beginning until the very end. Really glad that we booked through Global Journeys, would highly recommend their service!
Wonderful trip. 3 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2017
Both Canada and Alaska parts were great. It is very hard to put out one thing cause everything was just wonderful. The group of fellow passengers were great and there was no trouble with anyone and the mix of people were great. Global Journeys were a great help with everything we need. Thank you so much.
So many wonderful thoughts in my head! 3 , QLD, Australia, Jun 2015
This is what I wrote to my best friend about the trip. It sums it up. So many wonderful thoughts in my head. Sitting on a sundeck in a herb garden outside our room in Vancouver when we arrived with a beer. So tired yet so exhilarated by being in Canada we stayed up and partied all afternoon! The Rocky Mountaineer train trip....... bloody hell it was ...read more amazing mate. Forests, streams, lakes and mountains snow capped and water falls. All seen whilst being served the most amazing food and drinks you have ever eaten.. The dome carriage gold leaf is the only way to go. My most emotional moment was on blue river on the River Safari where we went on rafts out to the wilderness and just slowly stalked the lands edge looking for bears. We floated silently and waited and WOW ! Black bears eating and just clumsily strolling along the river bank not knowing we were there. I cried happy tears. You could hear the sticks crack on the bank as they walked along. WOW. LOL

My next one is glacier bay. It was the most eerie place ever... Small and large ice burgs in the water as the ship quietly drifted through and then you would here hissss. The water touching the the ice as we sailed passed. Then the most amazing thing I have ever seen was in front of me. A glacier !! OMG Its width and height was overwhelming and the colours in it. We slowly drifted passed it and I can honestly say I thought I was in another place other than this earth. No sound just every now and then massive cracks like thunder. We were so lucky as we heard the most amazing crack and then part of the glacier fell into the sea. I thought I was in a movie ! The friends I made and the things i saw mate. I hope this gives you an idea of my favourite moments.
Just a delightful memory 3 , WA, Australia, Aug 2014
This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed the tour of the Rockies and Alaska that you organised for us last August. It's a spectacular train journey and the accommodation all along the way was first rate. The tour leader, Sue, and the driver of the bus, Charles, were just lovely people. We thought that the 19 day tour was just enough for us - after ...read more that we went across to Toronto and up to Quebec .. then back by rail across Canada. That was a very relaxing and laid back part of our trip. Another thing .. the Air Canada flights (especially booking the exit row and bulkhead seats) was a pleasure ... great staff and we really enjoyed the company of the older stewards on the flight ... they were forever asking us if we wanted anything. Just brilliant. So altogether a great experience - even though at the end we were really happy to be home.

The only disappointment for us was the flight back from Sydney to Perth. The plane was one which had a central aisle and 3 seats either side ... extremely uncomfortable, and the worst food we had encountered. The stewards were very nice and helpful though. That might sound petty but Qantas needs to now look at some better seating in its economy class rather than just quantity and bottom line figures. Not sure if you've had any other complaints about that but I don't think we'll fly Qantas again even though we have been very supportive of the airline in the past. Hope you are keeping well and again, thanks for organising that tour for us, just a delightful memory.
Scenery is excellent and accommodation first class 1 , Australia, Apr 2014
The scenery is excellent and accommodation is first class but you do pay for it in the cost of tour. The Rocky Mountaineer first day is a long one so be prepared for approx. 11 hours on the train. The cruise to Alaska was impressive.
Brilliant 1 , Australia, Sep 2013
Brilliant...our Tour guide only a 5/10, seemed a bit tired of this route.
