The whole Bohemian June 23- 8 July 2017 tour was organized brilliantly and our tour guide Justine M is a vocal and passionate wealth of knowledge on the East European countries fight for existence in the turbulent regimes and wars they have survived. She is also a lovely, diligent and caring tour host. The group was varied and well suited to the mammoth Bohemian tour area coverage. Hotels were brilliant and very local to the cities visited. Local tour guides were fantastic.. especially Koty and Yolante. We'd go again.

An introduction to European countries, covering the main attractions. Fast paced with a focus on packing in the attractions. Tour guide was knowledgeable on European history and did everything to make the tour run smoothly.

In its current form a very disappointing trip - well below the standard of Trafalgar's UK/European trips. Too many low lights and not nearly enough highlights. The Global Journeys involvement was professional as usual and I will continue to book other trips through them.

This was a wonderful tour. I learned so much about the history of these amazing countries particularly around the time of WW2. Seeing Austwitz and Birkenau and visiting the sites of the ghettos are haunting memories which will stay with me for ever.

Most of the hotels were fantastic and a couple were a bit ordinary . They were all in good locations and plenty of time was included to relax. The organisation at the hotels was excellent and our tour guide quickly sorted out any problems.

Personally I would have liked two or three of the city highlights tours to have begun after 10.00am so we could get up later and really enjoy the glorious breakfasts. Perhaps the optional tours could be first on these days and the city tour afterwards. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable and thought provoking experience.

Global Journeys did a great job of making the tour happen! As promised we toured all around the major cities and had great sunny weather to boot! Coach travel and WIFI is top notch. Hotels were mainly above average but a few somewhat remote (Munich) so hard to then go back and sightsee. We visited the highlights of each town especially the Altstadt (old town) areas and castles/churches. Quite a contrast to the modern shopping available in other parts of a few towns!

Trafalgar Tour Guide was excellent - knowledgeable, personable and flexible.This was my first experience with tour travel. I found the pace a bit hectic and would travel with a friend next time or my husband. Twin share doesn't always work out. Overall, excellent value for money. Extra sights were added and the tour delivered on its promise. Glad I went and toured with Global Journeys and Trafalgar.

This was a really great tour, one of the best we have done. The scenery, particularly in Norway where we spent most of our time, was spectacular. Our Trafalgar tour guide was very organised and had great knowledge of the countries we visited. He provided very helpful information on the tour which helped us choose very interesting optional excursions and gave us a great local knowledge of the countries we visited.

We had a tight schedule from the start and were on the move every day. A lot of long distance travel and some days were exhausting. It was always late afternoon when we reached our hotel and there was no time to relax. The optionals were good but when you chose to do it there was no free time left to explore the places on our own. The hotels were of good standard. A couple of the chosen dinners were average. Tour Director, Christy was great, well informed, enthusiastic and took a lot of care in our comfort and requests. Don was the best coach driver. We had good company in our tour group and it was a pleasure to meet them all.

We saw so much of Europe and every day had wow factor. The itinerary was perfect for us! This is a fast paced tour, we covered 6,970 kms from London to London in 22 days but we saw so much, it was great value! You do need to have a reasonable level of fitness as there is a lot of walking at times on uneven ground. We handled this with ease but a few on our trip struggled to keep up at times so thought it was worth a mention.

Our tour director Bernie was excellent and informative. He was very well organised and our tour ran like clockwork. His knowledge and passion for Europe shone through and we felt well cared for and in safe hands. Our driver Claudio was also very competent and the bus was kept spotless. We really appreciated VIP access into many of the main attractions to miss the crowds and queues. We did most of the optional excursions and enjoyed them. We took the Eurostar return option and it was good to get back to London from Paris in 2 hours & 15 mins after sitting on a bus for 21 days.

Accommodation standards varied a little from country to country, but overall the standard was satisfactory to high with the rooms being comfortable and clean. We would certainly recommend travelling with Trafalgar and booking tours through Global Journeys. It was a hassle free trip from start to finish. It was easy to book online, the Global Journeys staff were very efficient in answering all our queries and they also appeared to be the most competitively priced for this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed the best of Ireland tour. Tour director very good providing extensive knowledge on the history of both countries. The local guides were also outstanding. Would also recommend the inclusions and optional which provided some outstanding scenery (Atlantic Coast) entertainment, hospitality and humour.

Some of the frequently asked questions Trafalgar receive from their clients
When can I expect to get my travel documents & itinerary?

Travel documents, including any air tickets, tour itinerary, hotel lists, and helpful hints and other information are sent approximately 20 days prior to your tour departure. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant can organise these earlier if you are travelling before your holiday starts.

How many people will be on my trip?

You'll find an average of 40 to 45 guests on trips throughout Europe, and a maximum of 52 guests on trips throughout the United States and Canada.

Will I have free time?

Each itinerary offers the perfect balance of downtime and discoveries. We also give you the opportunity to tailor your trip with Optional Experiences. You might choose to enjoy some of the best seats in the house at the world-famous Moulin Rouge in Paris. Or maybe take a magical early-morning balloon ride over the Napa Valley. Trafalgar's At Leisure tours offer a more relaxed pace, with later starts and longer stays in each place.

What are the coaches like?

We pride ourselves on having the finest fleet of fuel-efficient, fully air-conditioned coaches – all with reclining seats and on-board restrooms. The high vantage point from your coach's window means you can take in all the glorious scenery, whether it's a vast rural landscape or an urban city centre. We also have on board WiFi.

Are the hotels air conditioned?

We select our hotels for their quality, impeccable service and comfort, with the majority of them having air-conditioning. Few hotels in the northern Alps or Europe have air conditioning due to the colder climate.

Can I book a group of friends?

Global Journeys take the hassle out of booking a group holiday - and we offer some great discounts for five or more people. Groups of five to eight people will receive 5% off the land-only part of their trip, and larger groups will save even more.

What is the single traveller supplement?

If you prefer the privacy of your own room, you can opt for our single supplement. The cost will depend on your trip and can be found in the pricing section of the itinerary. On many of our trips we offer discounts on the standard single supplement. If you'd rather not incur the additional expense, consider our single traveller room share option. We'll accommodate you with a fellow guest of the same gender, on a twin-bed basis.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

We can accommodate guests who are vegetarian and can assist with diabetic, gluten-free and other medically-recommended diets. Please advise us at time of booking. Unfortunately, we're unable to supply meals in accordance with strict religious requirements. We can't provide salt-free, Kosher, Halal, requests for specific dietary supplements such as soya milk, and high protein or low-carb meals.

How much luggage can I bring?

You can bring one suitcase per person with the dimensions of 76cm x 46cm x 25cm (30" x 18" x 10") and weight not exceeding 23kg (50 lbs) due to the limited space on the coach. You can also bring one piece of hand luggage, provided it is small enough to take on the coach and does not have telescopic handles. All baggage handling is provided at no extra charge. One suitcase per person will be brought to your hotel room.

Are tips included?

We'll check you in, look after your luggage and take care of all hotel porterage, tips and gratuities - whether it is for restaurant staff, chambermaids or porters. The option to pre-pay gratuities for the Travel Director and Driver is available. Please request this at the time of enquiry and your Tour Consultant will include it in your quote.

What is Gold Seal Protection?

Gold Seal Protection is designed to provide you with peace of mind. For $99 should you choose to cancel your guided holiday for any reason, prior to departure from Australia, Trafalgar will refund your deposit and/or guided holiday payment. Gold Seal Protection must be paid with the deposit and cannot be added at any later date. If you wish for us to include this protection in your quote, please let us know when completing your 'Quote Request'.

Will I need to pack formal clothes?

This will depend on not only your personal preference, but the destinations you're visiting and the time of year you'll be travelling. We'd recommend bringing at least one smart outfit for special evenings.

What are Optional Experiences and when can I book them?

We realise that everyone likes some time to themselves, which is why we've left free time on all of our itineraries. If you want to get the most out of your destination, our Optional Experiences let you tailor your trip. Your Travel Director will tell you about all of the Optional Experiences available on the first day of your trip. Payment can be made by credit card or cash.

Will I need electrical adaptors?

Electrical plugs and outlets differ throughout the world. We recommend bringing a universal travel adaptor that's suitable for the countries you are travelling to.

Will I be able to get laundry done?

Most hotels do offer a laundry service and in some cities Laundromats are also available. However, it's sensible to try and pack enough clothing to avoid having to do laundry, as it can sometimes be costly or inconvenient.

Is there seat rotation on the coach?

Yes, your Travel Director will implement a seat rotation system, whereby all guests will rotate their seats on the coach daily. This allows for everyone to experience the spectacular views from different seats, and you'll have a better opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers.

What if I become ill on my trip and am unable to continue?

Your Travel Director will assist you with a doctor's visit or hospitalisation should you require. Trafalgar has a dedicated Customer Care Department in Europe, or our Operations Department in the relevant country will contact you to offer assistance and advice, coordinate with your travel insurance company and keep in touch until you are able to re-join the trip or return home. This service is included in the cost of your trip; however it is not a replacement for travel insurance, which we strongly advise you to purchase.

Why is my contact information collected when I book?

There may be times when unforeseen events beyond our control impacttravel schedules and potentially disrupt cruises, tours, or packages. These include, but are not limited to, severe weather conditions, acts of nature, and government travel advisories. Under such circumstances, it is critical that Trafalgar be able to contact you immediately and reliably - including nights, weekends, and holidays - to make sure we've informed you of any possible changes to your travel.

Arrival & Departure Information

What happens when you arrive at your destination, including information on airport transfers with Trafalgar
Transfers in Europe

All Trafalgar guests receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers by shuttle coach on the arrival and departure day of their guided holiday at specified times. Any guests whose flight times do not coincide with the shuttle coach transfer timings may choose to book and purchase a transfer. Additionally, guests arriving before or leaving after the scheduled holiday may also book and buy a transfer providing they also purchase the additional pre and post holiday hotel night(s) through Global Journeys & Trafalgar.

Trafalgar is pleased to offer complimentary airport transfers on our East Med itineraries, at any time either on the first or last day of the holiday or on other days in conjunction with pre and post trip accommodation booked through Global Journeys & Trafalgar.

Transfers in London

Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the airport and your London hotel. Trafalgar has negotiated special group transfer rates from London's Heathrow Airport to the door of your Trafalgar London hotel - $75 per person per single trip to/from Heathrow Airport. For passengers flying into London's Gatwick Airport, Global Journeys & Trafalgar recommend the Gatwick Express, for details visit the Gatwick Express website at: www.gatwickexpress.com

Trafalgar's Transfer Terms & Conditions
  • Global Journeys provides detailed flight information to Trafalgar no fewer than 21 days prior to departure. Once transfers are booked they cannot be changed.
  • For London arrivals, you must stay at a London hotel booked by Trafalgar on the night of arrival and the night prior to your departure date.
  • Trafalgar only includes one inbound and one outbound transfer.
  • In the event of flight delays outside of Trafalgar's control, the transfers will be deemed to be cancelled.
  • All transfers are based on group transfers. No refund is therefore available for missed transfers, or passengers not using this service.
  • In the event of unforeseen events (such as road or rail works, strikes or demonstrations), Trafalgar will not be responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.
Transfers in Americas & Canada

With Trafalgar you will receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on all holidays by shuttle, minivan, private car or taxi, between designated airports and hotels on the starting and ending day of your holiday. We regret that we are unable to provide complimentary transfers for anyone arriving before the scheduled starting day of the holiday and/or leaving after the scheduled ending day of the holiday. You may, however, purchase these transfers from Trafalgar provided that you also purchase your extra night(s) from Global Journeys & Trafalgar.

Transfers in Asia

Complimentary airport transfers are available on the arrival and departure days of your trip, if you have booked your flights through Global Journeys & Trafalgar.
