With extreme interest in Scenic Eclipse, Scenic has set its sights on the launch of Scenic Eclipse II in 2021/22. Announced last month, construction on the new build is due to start in 2020 and will resemble her sister ship with six-star luxury and unrivalled expedition facilities.
Scenic Eclipse II will be designed to meet an Ice Class 1A rating, allowing her to venture to remote destinations. Itineraries are to be released in April 2018 and will feature Russia’s White Sea, the Northwest Passage, Southern Greenland, and the Bering Sea crossing between Alaska and Russia.
The new vessel will offer 114 balcony suites, a luxurious Spa Sanctuary, indoor and outdoor plunge pools, and separate fitness areas. Dining options will include nine restaurants and eight lounges and bars. The vessel will also be equipped with a marina deck, helicopters and a submarine.
Glen Moroney, Scenic Founder and Chairman, said that the addition of a second ship to the fleet will allow further expansion into ocean cruising for Scenic. “It will also allow us to continue our passion for innovation in design and handcrafted itineraries, which we are confident will appeal to a wide variety of guests,” Moroney said.
