“Excellent Holiday ”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 5/5
From beginning to end the tour was just a pleasure to be part of. We had excellent group of folk...all willing to make it good for everyone else. Our tour guide,Gail, was just perfect. Making everything so clear so as to not be in doubt as to the schedule and very clear in giving the history of places on the tour. We have no regrets whatsoever. This trip will always have good memories for us.

“Lovely Italian Tour”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 4/5
As this was our first ever guided tour we were uncertain what to expect. There was a lot to commend plus some to suggest a change to. The whole trip was very worth while but my wife & I found the constant church visits very trying. Neither of us are religious and although we found the various murals, fresco's and mosaics wonderful, we found that the religious descriptions far too detailed. After about 5-6 church visits we cried enough and opted out. on occasions we were joined by other clients who also felt that they had enough too. After all just how many murals and fresco's etc do we need to see? (One of our party was a Hindu so you can imagine how interested she was)

Overall we are glad we went. Although we had visited Italy on day trips from both Austria and Switzerland this was the first time we had actually stayed in the country. This trip enabled us to see so much of the towns and cities we visited we could not have done it alone. The quality of both the tour director and the various guides was fantastic. One thing this tour has confirmed for us is that we much prefer independent travel.

“A fantastic way to see the Rocky Mountains”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 5/5
We had an fantastic trip through the Rockies, led by a most experienced, knowledgeable and entertaining Tour Director, Tarek. Hotels were good and scenery was spectacular. Highlights included Fairmont Chateau (Whistler), Flying Fox Adventure (Whistler), Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island, Maligne Canyon, Columbia Icefields/Athabusca Glacier, Banff National Park/Icefields Parkway, and Lake Louise). The group we traveled with were great fun, and we exchanged many laughs.

“Fantastic trip”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 5/5
This was an outstanding trip, the hotels were all excellent and in great locations. The courier Tarek, was outstanding, an extremely knowledgeable and helpful person. It was a very well run trip with a well thought out itinerary and I would love to travel Globus again. The trip gave us time to explore by ourselves and the excursions were all excellent, especially the Peak to Peak in Whistler. The included dinners and breakfasts were all of a high standard. The included excursions were also wonderful and our favourite was the breakfast at the top of Sulphur Mountain in Banff.

“A good trip through through stunning places”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 4/5
We wanted to see Yosemite and some sequoia groves. The tour covered these plus Lake Tahoe and the coast around Monterey. Overall a good tour but it really needs an extra day. There were no very early mornings but there were some late arrivals, eg Lake Tahoe after 7.00 pm. At times it felt rushed but the destinations were excellent. Accommodation was overall good but some locations were a little below par. Globus should review these. The coach was very good but only had one door which made loading and unloading tedious. Also there were no seat back pockets for our bits and pieces while on the road. This is not acceptable for long tours. The driver was excellent.

“Japan - What a delightful experience”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 5/5
May was the right time to travel - up to 30 degrees some days in the Tokyo area but only two wet days throughout the tour. June starts the wet season. Good group size of 33; buses could have larger seats and a few more amenities e.g. seat trays etc. No problem with frequent stops during the bus rides for snacks and toilets. Guide Yuki was excellent in all respects, and Mr Asano very good driver. Of the four hotels two were excellent and 2 very good; all with hassle-free check-in and check-out procedures.

The Japanese gardens are well worth the visit as are the other included attractions. Enough shrines and pagodas! Really liked the inclusions such as Tea ceremony, calligraphy and cooking class. Sake tasting was a disappointment as most of the group thought we would see he manufacturing process - we just stood in a courtyard and tasted two different classes of sake. Overall a good tour of the right length.

“A diverse tour featuring exciting cities and amazing scenery ”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 4/5
A well paced tour that highlights the west coasts major cities and attractions as well as it's natural beauty as in the impressive Grand Canyon and the scenic Yosemite National Park. This tour provided a good balance in travel, attractions and free time. We enjoyed the bright lights of Las Vegas and the many attractions of San Francisco. Globus, once again for us, provided a fun, informative, professional and hassle free holiday.

“Northern Capitals”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 4/5
Tour was very good, accommodation exceeded expectations and the guide was excellent. I was particularly impressed with the comfort of the coach and also the pace of the tour. Having at least two nights in each destination was what convinced me to do this trip as a tour rather than organise it myself.

My only criticisms were that the price of the optional excursions were significantly over priced. I was able to do the activities easily by myself and often for about a third of the price. Also I didn't like the pressuring of customers to make a tip at the end of the journey. I'm sure this is quite commonplace for American travelers and part of their custom, however, many other countries it is not and this should be respected more.

“Rocky Mountineer overrated.”
Rocky Mountaineer overrated. Food OK, nothing special, in retrospect we would have been happy with a road trip with same scenery. Of course that is a personal thought. Hotels excellent. Pace good. Included meals nothing special. Guide and driver superb. Coach always clean. Would travel with Globus family again, but feel Cosmos better value. Happy with Global Journeys as always.

“Great trip in Switzerland ”
Trip:    Overall Rating: 4/5
Switzerland was a great trip. The tour director, a Erik, and driver Franko were wonderful to all the guests. They were polite and friendly. All the hotels were not great especially when compared with this in Asia and Turkey. Tour guides used during the tour were very knowledgeable.

The Scandinavian tour was also very good and I recommend it to future travellers. A suggestion is that a night and day us spent in Gothenburg as it is so beautiful but we did not have an opportunity to see the city. Again the tour director, Chris, and driver pieto, were good, friendly, courteous and helpful.

Globus FAQ's

Some of the frequently asked questions Globus receive from their clients
Will I be travelling with people from other countries?

Globus is an international company. As such, you will be travelling with like-minded enthusiasts from countries as diverse as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, as well as Europe and Asia regions. The average number of people on a Globus tour is 36, and we limit the number of tour members on our tours to a maximum of 44. Small groups of this size allow you more space, comfort and legroom.

What is a single room supplement?

Single rooms cost extra and are often quite small. We do not take reservations on a "share" basis. Sidestep the single room supplement by traveling with a friend. It is less expensive and much more fun.

When can I expect to get my travel documents & itinerary?

Travel documents, including any air tickets, tour itinerary, hotel lists, and helpful hints and other information are sent approximately 20-30 days prior to your tour departure. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant can organise these earlier if you are travelling before your holiday starts.

Can children travel on Globus tours?

An adult must accompany travellers who are less than 18 years old on the tour departure date; the child receives a 10% discount on the land tour price. We do not accept children under the age of 8 on escorted tours, because we have found they are too young to enjoy these holidays. On our independent tours (Monograms), there is no minimum age requirement.

Am I expected to pay gratuities?

For all departures we offer the option to pre-pay your gratuities. This option gives you a greater capacity to manage your holiday budget which means you will no longer need to reach into your pocket at the conclusion of your tour to pay your Tour Director and driver for their service. Please note that pre-paid gratuities cover only the land portion operated by Globus of the tour itinerary. Where we source other leading operators for cruising, rail or local guided elements of your holiday, the option to pre-pay your gratuities is not available.

How much luggage can I bring?

Porterage for one suitcase per person travelling is included in the holiday price. Airport and train station porterage is not included. Your single bag should not exceed the dimensions of 76 x 53 x 28cm (30" x 21" x 11") and weight of 22kg (50lbs). Carry-on luggage is limited to one bag per person travelling and must not exceed the dimensions of 30 x 28 x 14cm (12" x 11" x 6"). For safety reasons, wheeled carry on bags are not suitable and will not be permitted as hand luggage on the coaches. Carry-on bags must be small enough to store in overhead bins or under the seat of you.

Can I book optional excursions before travel?

You can pre purchase selected optional excursions for your tour between 90 and 10 days prior to departure, on departures which have been placed onto a "Guaranteed Departure" status. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant will provide more information to you at the time.

What are the standard bed configurations?

Every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedding room. Occasionally, some hotels will only provide double-bedded rooms. These rooms will be allocated to couple where possible. If your preference is for a double bed, please request this at time of booking. Please note that as we do not own the hotels, and it is the hotels themselves that undertake the room allocation, double rooms are only a request and cannot be guaranteed.

Are there laundry facilities?

Most hotels offer a laundry service, however it can sometimes be costly. Alternatively, some cities offer Laundromats.

What is SafetyNet Protection?

Globus is dedicated to ensuring your trip is worry and hassle free, even when booking. Should you be uncertain what your commitments will be leading up to your departure, Globus offer an optional SafetyNet Protection policy for an additional fee. Read more here.

Is there Wi-Fi on the coach?

Globus coaches offer free wireless internet connection whilst touring. This allows you to browse online and share your experience with your friends and family back home. We need to highlight free wireless availability in coaches is not offered on local coaches used for transfers or occasionally for sightseeing tours. Wireless service is not available in some countries and certain regions of other countries that do not have Wi-Fi service coverage. Downloading is not available on the coaches but you can do this in the hotels. Please check with the hotel reception or concierge where the free Wi-Fi is located in each hotel.

What can my London Host offer me?

Unlike other tour operators Globus has 50 hosts located at the airport and in each of our London hotels, so you only have to walk to the lobby not half way across London for assistance. Your host is there to help you with all your questions on London, they will provide you with maps, directions and a wide range of tours to ensure you see the best of London. Whether it be a city orientation tour, or dinner and a West End show your host will provide you with all the information and assistance you require.

Can I change my mind after booking?

Should you be uncertain what your commitments will be leading up to your departure, Globus offers an optional SafetyNet Protection policy for an additional fee. SafetyNet Protection must be paid at the time of the tour deposit and is payable per person per booking (not per tour) and is non-refundable . Read more here.

I'm finding it difficult to match two tours together?

You can add pre/post tour accommodation to your reservation. This price does include breakfast on Globus tours. Please note that hotels are subject to change but by booking your pre/post accommodation with us this ensures that if your hotel changes then we will try to change your pre/post accommodation to the same hotel. On the rare occasions that there is no available then alternative accommodation will be reserved at a hotel of equivalent standard. If this does occur than the transfer between the hotels will be at our expense.

Why is my contact information collected when I book?

There may be times when unforeseen events beyond our control impacttravel schedules and potentially disrupt cruises, tours, or packages. These include, but are not limited to, severe weather conditions, acts of nature, and government travel advisories.
