Globus is an international company. As such, you will be travelling with like-minded enthusiasts from countries as diverse as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, as well as Europe and Asia regions. The average number of people on a Globus tour is 36, and we limit the number of tour members on our tours to a maximum of 44. Small groups of this size allow you more space, comfort and legroom.
Single rooms cost extra and are often quite small. We do not take reservations on a "share" basis. Sidestep the single room supplement by traveling with a friend. It is less expensive and much more fun.
Travel documents, including any air tickets, tour itinerary, hotel lists, and helpful hints and other information are sent approximately 20-30 days prior to your tour departure. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant can organise these earlier if you are travelling before your holiday starts.
An adult must accompany travellers who are less than 18 years old on the tour departure date; the child receives a 10% discount on the land tour price. We do not accept children under the age of 8 on escorted tours, because we have found they are too young to enjoy these holidays. On our independent tours (Monograms), there is no minimum age requirement.
For all departures we offer the option to pre-pay your gratuities. This option gives you a greater capacity to manage your holiday budget which means you will no longer need to reach into your pocket at the conclusion of your tour to pay your Tour Director and driver for their service. Please note that pre-paid gratuities cover only the land portion operated by Globus of the tour itinerary. Where we source other leading operators for cruising, rail or local guided elements of your holiday, the option to pre-pay your gratuities is not available.
Porterage for one suitcase per person travelling is included in the holiday price. Airport and train station porterage is not included. Your single bag should not exceed the dimensions of 76 x 53 x 28cm (30" x 21" x 11") and weight of 22kg (50lbs). Carry-on luggage is limited to one bag per person travelling and must not exceed the dimensions of 30 x 28 x 14cm (12" x 11" x 6"). For safety reasons, wheeled carry on bags are not suitable and will not be permitted as hand luggage on the coaches. Carry-on bags must be small enough to store in overhead bins or under the seat of you.
You can pre purchase selected optional excursions for your tour between 90 and 10 days prior to departure, on departures which have been placed onto a "Guaranteed Departure" status. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant will provide more information to you at the time.
Every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedding room. Occasionally, some hotels will only provide double-bedded rooms. These rooms will be allocated to couple where possible. If your preference is for a double bed, please request this at time of booking. Please note that as we do not own the hotels, and it is the hotels themselves that undertake the room allocation, double rooms are only a request and cannot be guaranteed.
Most hotels offer a laundry service, however it can sometimes be costly. Alternatively, some cities offer Laundromats.

Globus coaches offer free wireless internet connection whilst touring. This allows you to browse online and share your experience with your friends and family back home. We need to highlight free wireless availability in coaches is not offered on local coaches used for transfers or occasionally for sightseeing tours. Wireless service is not available in some countries and certain regions of other countries that do not have Wi-Fi service coverage. Downloading is not available on the coaches but you can do this in the hotels. Please check with the hotel reception or concierge where the free Wi-Fi is located in each hotel.
Unlike other tour operators Globus has 50 hosts located at the airport and in each of our London hotels, so you only have to walk to the lobby not half way across London for assistance. Your host is there to help you with all your questions on London, they will provide you with maps, directions and a wide range of tours to ensure you see the best of London. Whether it be a city orientation tour, or dinner and a West End show your host will provide you with all the information and assistance you require.
Should you be uncertain what your commitments will be leading up to your departure, Globus offers an optional SafetyNet Protection policy for an additional fee. You can add pre/post tour accommodation to your reservation. This price does include breakfast on Globus tours. Please note that hotels are subject to change but by booking your pre/post accommodation with us this ensures that if your hotel changes then we will try to change your pre/post accommodation to the same hotel. On the rare occasions that there is no available then alternative accommodation will be reserved at a hotel of equivalent standard. If this does occur than the transfer between the hotels will be at our expense.
There may be times when unforeseen events beyond our control impacttravel schedules and potentially disrupt cruises, tours, or packages. These include, but are not limited to, severe weather conditions, acts of nature, and government travel advisories. Under such circumstances, it is critical that Globus be able to contact you immediately and reliably - including nights, weekends, and holidays - to make sure we've informed you of any possible changes to your travel.
Globus airport transfers can be added your reservation at AU$25/$NZ30 per person one way. Airport transfers to Globus hotels in London can be arranged every day of the week. In all other cities, airport transfers can only be arranged on the tour start and end date as specified in the brochure. Airport transfers can also be arranged when you purchase extra nights before or after the tour, but only if the extra accommodation is booked through Globus by Global Journeys.
Globus we have included your arrival and departure airport transfers with your tour. Transfers are available when arriving or departing on the first and last day of your tour. Our transfers operate 24 hours a day throughout Asia, with the exception of Japan. If you have booked pre- or post-tour accommodation in conjunction with your tour, your transfers will be included. To confirm your airport transfers, please advise your Tour Consultant of your flight details when confirmed.
Globus airport transfers can be added your reservation at additonal cost. Arrival transfers are available from many North American and all South America cities. Departure transfers are only available direct from your Globus Tour Director while on tour. Please see travel documents for full details regarding set pick-up times at designated airport locations.
