  “Overall the trip was good”
Trip:    Trip Date: 02/09/2017    Overall Rating: 4/5
Overall the trip was good thanks in a large part to the efficiency of the guide and bus driver & fellow passengers. They were excellent. Accommodation left a lot to be desired especially the bathrooms in Sparta, Olympia & Delphi. They were well below standard.

There was mould in the bathrooms, the water was never contained in the shower area and bathroom floors were flooded especially in Sparta as the shower pointed away from the catchment area. The exception was the Golden Age where accommodation, bar/restaurant & staff were great. Accommodation location was very good. Food - breakfasts as a whole were generally good once you adapted to what was on offer (European Style).

Fellow traveller - overall they were friendly and we got on with the majority of the them which added to a good experience. We could not understand why some people (approx. 20%) opted for this tour as there was a lot of climbing and steps to negotiate which was well beyond their physical capacity and they missed out on some amazing sights. Some struggled to negotiate the steps into the bus.

More information for the optional tour to the 3 islands on the second day would have been useful. It was a very long 12 hour day which included 7 hours of sailing in rather warm weather. We would have had second thoughts about doing this if we were better informed. Going in September with temps in the low 30's was an ideal time. On a scale of 10 we would give it 6 mainly due to the poor quality of accommodation, otherwise we would rank it as a 9.

“Fascinating trip through beautiful cities of Central Europe”
Trip:    Trip Date: 27/08/2017    Overall Rating: 4/5
The Central Europe tour was wonderful and all the cities visited were beautiful, interesting, so full of history and difficult to pick a favourite - would love to see them all again! Our tour guide Tina was great as was our coach driver Francesco and the coach was very clean and comfortable - needed to be on the long days driving between cities! The tour pace was very hectic to cover the large territory in the time allocated. Arrival into most cities was late afternoon, followed by early departures so realistically we only had a day at best - with shorter stays in Vienna and Munich! Perhaps Cosmos should cut Vienna or Munich from the itinerary as the stays in both are very short and hotels so far out of the city it is difficult for passengers to maximise the limited time available in both cities. The hotels in both Vienna & Munich should be changed as really out of the way, limited facilities and very little nearby - Vienna hotel is particularly bad!

Why do Cosmos start the tour in one hotel in Frankfurt and end in another? The hotel in Frankfurt at start of tour was good, well located within easy access to the city, train station and airport, with restaurants & shopping nearby. However hotel at end of tour was so far out of town and twice the distance from the airport and made it more difficult (and expensive) for passengers making onward connections - a let down at the end of the tour!

This is the 3rd time I have booked with Global Journeys and 3rd Cosmos tour I have been on and it lived up to expectations (except hotels as mentioned above) and I would travel with them again. Jemma at Global Journeys was helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends.

  “Great fantastic, just fabulous”
Trip:    Trip Date: 19/08/2017    Overall Rating: 5/5
June and I thoroughly enjoyed our journey. The Rocky Mountaineer was great even in Silver Leaf...staff were terrific and food...tooooo much but lovely. The hotels may not have been 5 star but clean, excellent mattresses and best of all...a hot shower at every venue. Our Tour director, Gamael and our driver Jon were great. Some times our stays at places were short and some times the starts were a bit early, but what we received in return was well worth it. Scenery everywhere was picture postcard. A very thorough tour showcasing the Rocky Mountains

The cruise on the Volendam was fantastic...Again staff and food very very good. Had a minor hiccup with my onboard billing but will hopefully sort it out soon. Again the scenery on the cruise was fantastic. Glacier Bay, watching and hearing a glacier calving, once in a lifetime opportunity. Some of the shore excursions were quite expensive booking from the ship as we found the same ones at the destination almost half price. If you do the Rocky Mountaineer..don't eat for at least three days before hand...lol.

“10 Day Heart of the Canadian Rockies”
Trip:    Trip Date: 19/08/2017    Overall Rating: 4/5
Wonderful highlights - Banff, saw bear cubs running across the road. Lake Louise and Columbia Icefields - awesome. Each day became more awesome. Maligne Lake and Athabasca Glacier, spectacular! Day 6 and 7 are extremely long days on the coach, but we did love the visit to the town of Hope where Slyvester Stallone made Rambo First Blood. Would have loved to stay and seen all the sites. We even saw the Rocky Mountaineer running beside us in certain spots along the way.

Global Journeys have made an interesting holiday at a reasonable price. It is a shame that no breakfasts are supplied as some of us need something to get us moving in the mornings. The accommodation in places was excellent in most places. Wonderful trip with great memories.

“Great tour, saw so much in short time ”
Trip:    Trip Date: 18/08/2017    Overall Rating: 5/5
Even though 8 days isn't long for the places we visited we saw so much due to great organization by Cosmos and the efficiency of France our tour director who had to oversee 47 passengers and Steve our driver who got us smoothly to our destinations and looked after our bags at each hotel. There were a couple of long trips between places but made easier with several breaks on the way.

Our favourite place was Niagara Falls , which were totally amazing and right in town. We went out on the boat right up to them and had a lovely dinner at the top of the revolving restaurant, Skylon which had stunning views of the Falls (photo attached).

New York just like you expect from watching movies =, busy with a lot of traffic and people. The mass of buildings with beautiful architecture was really interesting to see on our morning tour which was really informative with a great local guide
Great tour around Washington seeing The White House , The John F Kennedy Centre , Capitol Hill , The beautiful Art Gallery and the Arlington National Cemetery where returned soldiers and John and Jackie Kennedy are buried.

We went in mid August and the weather was perfect ,warm with sunny skies every day. We took all the optional tours available which were great , the only disappointing one being the horse and carriage tour in Philadelphia which turned out to be a horse and cart for half of us as they didn't have enough carriages for a large group We felt they could have done 2 different times and wouldn't have gone if we had known we would end up in a cart. Apart from that it was an awesome tour and even though a large group we all got along fine.

  “Excellent trip ”

We had a fantastic tour director in Kacey, he was calm witty and full of information. Our driver Steve was a great driver and very careful. Banff , Lake Louise Sun peaks and Whistler were fantastic with great accommodation (Jasper was the only disappointment - the hotel was a big walk out of town and needs refurbishing but the breakfast was good). Steve and Kacey took us around the town to familiarise us with the places which was fantastic, Can't say enough about them they were fantastic. Holland American cruise was out of this world.

  “Wonderfull Alpine adventure”
Trip:    Trip Date: 15/08/2017    Overall Rating: 3/5
It was nice but not perfect, we had a few bad hotels, and the included dinners very poor choices - except one. Also a few did not have wifi. And some hotels were to far from the city, restaurants and shops. Tour guide was exceptional and coach driver as well, they made our trip more enjoyable. In St Moritz the hotel offered us free travel tickets an all public transport including cable cars - it was fantastic, considering that everything is so expensive there. In my personal opinion, the local tour guides, are a waste of money and time. Would be better to do a tour with the couch, giving out some maps and relevant info and free time to visit wherever you are interested in. Well organised tour, not rushed, we did enjoy it a lot! I would travel any time with Cosmos!

“Thank you Yvonne and Global Journeys for organising my trip.”
Trip:    Trip Date: 15/08/2017    Overall Rating: 4/5
Although I have been on many organised overseas trips , I had never before booked with an online agent. I have to say my worries were unnecessary. Global Journeys and especially Yvonne Brooks made it all simple, and everything went smoothly with our booking. Any worries or questions, email or phone, and it is answered/resolved quickly & promptly. There was no extra effort required on my part as compared to using the traditional shop based travel agent. The bonus is the great discount we got from Global Journeys. We had a most interesting trip to Spain and Portugal on our Cosmos trip. Tip: We went at the middle of August and it was really hot. Try September if you can. Thank you Yvonne.

Overall a great tour with the most amazing scenery. The wifi on the coach was not quite adequate, but at least the tour guide let us know in advance. We were lucky with the weather which made a big difference. I would do this tour again in the future.

Cosmos FAQ's

Some of the frequently asked questions Cosmos receive from their clients
Will I be travelling with people from other countries?

Cosmos is an international company. As such, you will be travelling with like-minded enthusiasts from countries as diverse as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, as well as Europe and Asia regions.

What if I am travelling alone?

More than one third of Cosmos' clients travel alone. Because Cosmos strives to offer the best value for money, we feel it is unfair to charge an expensive single room supplement without offering an alternative. We therefore can provide clients with a 'guaranteed share' facility. This means that we charge singles the basic per person price and match up singles of the same gender in twin-bedded rooms. If we cannot find a roommate for a tour member who has booked on a 'guaranteed share' basis, we will absorb the single room supplement. For mutual comfort, we do adopt a no-smoking rule in shared rooms. 'Guaranteed share' cannot be offered for pre and post tour accommodation. 'Guaranteed share' basis is unavailable on certain vacations.

What is a single room supplement?

If you prefer the privacy of your own room, this can be arranged for you with an extra fee. Single supplement prices are listed on each itinerary page.

When can I expect to get my travel documents & itinerary?

Travel documents, including any air tickets, tour itinerary, hotel lists, and helpful hints and other information are sent approximately 20-30 days prior to your tour departure. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant can organise these earlier if you are travelling before your holiday starts.

Am I expected to pay gratuities?

It is customary worldwide to pay tips to Tour Directors and Drivers on all international vacations and these are not included in your quote. The option to prepay these tips prior to departure is possible however. Please ask your Tour Consultant to include this in your quote. You will receive gratuity vouchers with your travel documents and all you need to do is give this to the Tour Director, Driver, Cruise Director at the end of the holiday.

How much luggage can I bring?

Porterage for one suitcase per person travelling is included in the holiday price. Airport and train station porterage is not included. Your single bag should not exceed the dimensions of 76 x 53 x 28cm (30" x 21" x 11") and weight of 22kg (50lbs). Carry-on luggage is limited to one bag per person travelling and must not exceed the dimensions of 30 x 28 x 14cm (12" x 11" x 6"). For safety reasons, wheeled carry on bags are not suitable and will not be permitted as hand luggage on the coaches. Carry-on bags must be small enough to store in overhead bins or under the seat of you.

Can I book optional excursions before travel?

You can pre purchase selected optional excursions for your tour between 90 and 10 days prior to departure, on departures which have been placed onto a "Guaranteed Departure" status. Your Global Journeys Tour Consultant will provide more information to you at the time.

What are the standard bed configurations?

Every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedding room. Occasionally, some hotels will only provide double-bedded rooms. These rooms will be allocated to couple where possible. If your preference is for a double bed, please request this at time of booking. Please note that as we do not own the hotels, and it is the hotels themselves that undertake the room allocation, double rooms are only a request and cannot be guaranteed.

Are there laundry facilities?

Most hotels offer a laundry service, however it can sometimes be costly. Alternatively, some cities offer Laundromats.

Is there Wi-Fi on the coach?

Cosmos coaches offer free wireless internet connection whilst touring. This allows you to browse online and share your experience with your friends and family back home. We need to highlight free wireless availability in coaches is not offered on local coaches used for transfers or occasionally for sightseeing tours. Wireless service is not available in some countries and certain regions of other countries that do not have Wi-Fi service coverage. Downloading is not available on the coaches but you can do this in the hotels. Please check with the hotel reception or concierge where the free Wi-Fi is located in each hotel.

What is SafetyNet Protection?

Cosmos is dedicated to ensuring your trip is worry and hassle free, even when booking. Should you be uncertain what your commitments will be leading up to your departure, Cosmos offer an optional SafetyNet Protection policy for an additional fee. Read more here.

I'm finding it difficult to match two tours together?

Have you considered pre or post tour accommodation? Cosmos offer fantastic rates hard to find elsewhere and this may enable you to select sequential tours with minimal disruption to your intended travel plans.

What does the tour cost include?

Our packages take in each destinations's most popular highlights. They are carefully planned to include visits to places of interest and panoramic drives through areas of natural beauty. There's so much for you to look forward to!

Why is my contact information collected when I book?

There may be times when unforeseen events beyond our control impacttravel schedules and potentially disrupt cruises, tours, or packages.
