Itinerary
Ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy and the epicentre of Western civilisation, is a city for all eternity and the starting point for your discovery voyage. (D)
Around the 16th Century, Skala was one of the most important commercial ports in the Mediterranean, where trading of pirated goods took place. As you stroll down the windy path in the centre of the island, you will find it hard to imagine that Patmos inspired St. John to write the Book of Revelation in what is now known as the ‘Cave of the Apocalypse’. Shimmering coastline, sheer cliffs and volcanic soil, Patmos is one of the smallest and most stunning inhabited islands in the Aegean. (B/L/D)
Kusadasi is a popular Mediterranean port on the Turkish coastline. Sun, sea, bargain shopping and a lively night scene, are part of the Kusadasi attractions, but it is also home to natural wonders and ancient sites that appeal to international travellers from around the world. Kusadasi is also the ideal location for history lovers, from ancient sites, a Byzantine Period fortress and pirates of the Mediterranean. Wander the maze of the old quarter, and admire the houses decorated with flowers and birdcages. (B/L/D)
Dominated by the 15th century Neratzia Castle and the Ancient Agora ruins, with a temple, shrine and columns, our exploration into Grecian history continues in Kos. The third largest island in the Greek islands, Kos has been influenced by many cultures, including the Romans, the Venetians, the medieval Knights, and the Ottomans. One of the most important historical site is Asklepieion, a medical centre that followed the guidelines of the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates. Known as the ‘Cycling Island’, go for a bike ride around the endless coasts with the turquoise waters or through the mountains. (B/L/D)
Lindos was a famous city in the ancient world, and participated in the Trojan War. The last surviving ancient city that was mentioned by Homer and Herodotus, Lindos is impeccably preserved. The timeless Acropolis is perched atop the steep rock peak, and overlooks the whitewashed town of winding alleyways that spills over the mountain slope. Stroll through the sprawling village, losing yourself in the snaking streets originally designed to confuse pirates. (B/L/D)
The colourful neo-classical houses and azure beaches of Symi Town welcome us. Stand on the observation deck as you come into port, entering a picture-perfect scenic traditional village. The impeccable architecture that stretches over the surrounding mountains will captivate you. Mingle with the locals and experience everyday life. With the port at the centre of the island, discover many little villages and beaches within walking distance. (B/L/D)
Located at the south-eastern edge of the Cyclades archipelago, Amorgos is yet another beautiful Greek Island where the locals welcome you with a smile, making you feel right at home. Untouched by the mass tourism of its neighbours, Amorgos is perfect for those seeking peace and tranquillity, and the chance to get out on foot to explore. The location of the 1988 film ‘The Big Blue’, this island is a hidden gem that boasts natural landscape, mysterious caves, marvellous beaches and minimal Cycladic architecture. (B/L/D)
Mykonos is a whitewashed paradise in the heart of the Cyclades. Discover the island where simplicity meets glamour, with minimal Cycladic architecture, traditional windmills and magical sunsets. Stroll the narrow paved streets of Chora, lined with award winning restaurants and designer boutiques. Marvel at the emerald, azure and deep blue waters lapping at the many beaches. This is the perfect place to indulge in some included water sport activities. (B/L/D)
