Arrive Stockholm

Tour begins at 6:00 PM at Radisson Blu Waterfront or Sheraton Stockholm. Upon arrival of your flight, a transfer is included from the Arlanda Airport to the Radisson Blu Waterfront or Sheraton Stockholm in the heart of Stockholm. Meet your fellow travel companions at tonight's exclusive welcome cocktail reception and dinner at the Vasa Museum, the centerpiece of which is the world's only preserved 17th-century warship, the Vasa, salvaged in 1961 after more than 300 years on the bottom of Stockholm Harbor! Stay Two Nights: Radisson Blu Waterfront or Sheraton Stockholm (D)

Sightseeing in Stockholm today includes a look at the city's intriguing islands - Sweden's capital sits astride 14 of them - on a cruise along its historic canals; and a guided tour of its iconic City Hall, where the annual Nobel Prize award festivities take place - including the Council Chamber, the Gold Room, and the misnamed Blue Room (the architect changed his mind and left its beautiful red-brick walls intact). The rest of the day is yours to explore more of Stockholm as you wish. (B)

Currently the primary residence of Sweden's royal family, impressive Drottningholm Palace has witnessed much history and many changes over the past 400 years, which you'll see on this morning's guided visit. Then join our local guide for a walking tour along the cobbled streets of Stockholm's medieval Gamla Stan, or Old Town, revealing centuries of Swedish history and culture, before boarding your stylish small ship for the start of your Baltic Sea cruise. Stay Seven Nights: Le Soléal (B/D)

Following your ship's arrival in seaside Helsinki, Finland, a sightseeing excursion shows you Helsinki Cathedral, Market Square, and the Sibelius Monument dedicated to the great Finnish composer. Visit the Temppeliaukio Church, or Church of the Rock, a modern design hewn out of solid granite. Drive by Finlandia Hall, designed by famed Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, en route back to the ship, which sets sail for Russia late this afternoon; join us for a welcome reception and dinner tonight. (B/L/D)

Your Baltic Sea cruise aboard your Tauck small ship continues to the glorious city of St. Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia, where the ship docks for two nights. Join us for a city tour including 18th-century Peter and Paul Fortress and the golden-spired Cathedral - final resting place of the czars of the Romanov Dynasty, including the city's founder Peter the Great - and a visit to the Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood. Return to the ship for an early pre-theatre dinner onboard, which precedes a memorable night of cultural entertainment at Yusupov Palace in St. Petersburg featuring a tour, champagne, opera and Russian ballet! (B/L/D)

Head to Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo), stopping en route to see the Victory Monument, dedicated to the defenders of Leningrad. In Pushkin, tour Catherine Palace, the Romanovs' stunning summer home; its striking blue and white facade and lush gardens hint at the grandeur inside. Lunch in a local restaurant showcases Russian folkloric entertainment; have dinner aboard the ship tonight. (B/L/D)

Today, take a memorable, privately guided tour of The State Hermitage Museum - set within Catherine the Great's Winter Palace and housing one of the largest collections of art and artifacts in the world - at the best time to avoid the crowds. Displays reflect the development of art and culture through the ages and include prehistoric cultures, classical antiquities, Western European art, and golden treasures. After lunch at a local restaurant, spend the afternoon as you wish in St. Petersburg; shuttles are available throughout the afternoon to return you to the ship. (B/L/D)

Le Boréal docks in Tallinn today, Estonia's capital city and one of Europe's best-preserved walled medieval cities. Experience ancient as well as contemporary Tallinn on a drive through its modern suburbs and a walking tour along its cobblestone streets with your local guide. See restored St. Nicholas Church; meander through winding streets to Toompea Castle; and feel the energy of Market Square. A shuttle is available to take you back to the ship throughout the day; late afternoon, chart a course along the Baltic Sea to Denmark. Please join us for a farewell reception and dinner on board this evening. (B/L/D)
