Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley

Sacred Valley

Today, visit the fascinating Terraces of Moray. A Taste of the Sacred Valley - visit the home of a local family for a home-cooked meal. Later, take in the salt mines of Maras and marvel at the view from above the mines. (B/L)

Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu

Like a Local - today board the Vistadome train and head to Machu Picchu. On arrival, enjoy a locally guided tour of this wondrous site. Stay: Aguas Calientes, El MaPi Hotel (B/D)

Machu Picchu, Cusco

With the morning free, perhaps revisit Machu Picchu at leisure. Then re-board the Vistadome train for your journey back to Ollantaytambo station, before a coach returns you to Cusco. Like a Local - during a weaving demonstration, see how the colourful materials of South America are created by local people. Tonight enjoy dinner and a traditional Peruvian folklore show. This morning, head to Sacsayhuaman Fortress, a huge fort that was constructed using six-metre-high boulders cut to fit together tightly without mortar. After admiring the fortress, take a tour of Cusco, visiting the ruins of Tambomachay, Quenqo and Puka Pukara. (B)


Today, enjoy time at leisure to relax or explore the vibrant city of Cusco and its surroundings. (B)

Cusco, Lake Titicaca

Today set out for the city of Puno, a picturesque hillside city situated on the south-eastern shores of Lake Titicaca. Along the way, stop for a visit to the town of Andahuaylillas, known for its lavishly decorated Baroque church dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle, widely recognised as the 'Sistine Chapel of America'. Lake Titicaca

Set right on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the highest altitude lake in the world. Quito, Coca, Amazon Cruise

This morning you'll fly to Coca, located in the mighty Amazon. From here, journey downstream by motorised canoe to board the M/V Anakonda. Enjoy dinner this evening then perhaps embark on a nocturnal walk to witness the life emerging in the forest after dark. Stay Three Nights: M/V Anakonda (B/D)

Amazon Cruise

Take a motorised canoe trip up the Pañayacu River. Flooded by white waters, the rivers and lakes here house the infamous Piranha, and Water Monkey Fish. After a swim (for the courageous) or kayak, enjoy a delicious Amazon-style BBQ meal at a nearby camping site. In the afternoon, set out an exploration trail walk before returning on board for dinner. Amazon Cruise

After breakfast, set out to visit a parrot lick - a unique area rich in mud, minerals and fauna. Like a Local - visit the Sani Warmi Kichwa Interpretation Centre to gain insight into Amazonian lifestyles along the Napo River. Listen in as Kichwa women speak of their customs, cuisine and everyday life. Later, stop at the Yakukawsay Kichwa Interpretation Centre where expert guides will explain the wonders of the floral and fauna communities. (B/L/D)

Amazon Cruise, Coca, Quito

Today you'll disembark your ship for the final time and transfer by motorised canoe back to Coca. From here, fly to Quito. After settling in to your hotel, enjoy a Farewell Dinner. Stay: Dann Carlton Quito (B/D)
