1 Depart Australia - Arrive In Lima
Welcome to Lima, Peru. This city is a mix of modern shopping malls, high rise buildings and beautiful colonial architecture. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure to relax and recover from your flight.
2 Lima - Guayaquil
This morning we'll transfer to the airport for our flight to Guayaquil, gateway to the Galapagos Islands. This evening we'll enjoy a group welcome dinner. (B/D)
3 Guayaquil - Galapagos Islands
Special Experience: We fly to the amazing Galapagos Islands, one of the world's best destinations for wildlife viewing. We'll enjoy lunch on a heritage property amongst the giant tortoises once we arrive. (B/L)
4 Galapagos Islands
Today we'll visit one of the uninhabited islands to witness more amazing wildlife. Keep an eye out for penguins, dolphins and plenty of exotic fish. (B/L)
5 Galapagos Islands
We visit beautiful Tortuga Bay on a walking tour, with time to snorkel and enjoy the underwater kaleidoscope. This afternoon we board a speedboat bound for the island of San Cristóbal, home to many natural wonders. (B)
6 Galapagos Islands
We'll board a yacht for either Isla Lobos or Kicker Rock, according to the National Park schedule. Both offer amazing snorkelling opportunities. Later this afternoon, we'll visit the islands' Interpretation Centre which provides a wealth of information and exhibits about the Galapagos. (B/L)
7 Galapagos Islands - Lima
After breakfast and some time at leisure this morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to Lima, the capital of Peru, via Guayaquil. Tomorrow morning we'll be flying east to Cusco, gateway to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu! (B)
8 Lima - Cusco
Today we fly to Cusco. High in the Peruvian Andes, the city of Cusco was the capital of the Incan Empire. After lunch we'll explore Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun, considered the most spectacular temple of the Incan empire. (B/L)
9 Cusco
Our day begins at the fascinating ancient fortress of Sacsayhuaman, before we discover the colours and local delicacies of the San Pedro Market. Later we'll explore Cusco's arty San Blas neighbourhood on foot and tour the 17th century Cathedral of Santo Domingo. (B)
10 Cusco - Sacred Valley
We travel into the incredible Sacred Valley, stopping in the village of Awanacancha to meet the llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicunas. We'll also visit the impressive ruins and lively market of Pisac. Once we arrive in Ollantaytambo, we'll explore the town on a walking tour. (B)
11 Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
Special Experience: A magical day as we travel by Vistadome train through the Sacred Valley to the legendary Lost City of the Incas - Machu Picchu, hidden high up in the jungle of the Andes. We'll take an in-depth guided tour before enjoying some time at leisure to explore further. (B/D)
12 Machu Picchu - Cusco
Why not return to Machu Picchu for an optional second visit this morning? Later we travel back to Ollantaytambo by train and tour the ruins of the ancient Inca fortress. We'll then continue to Cusco by road, stopping in Chinchero for a traditional weaving demonstration. (B)
13 Cusco - Santiago
Enjoy a relaxing morning before our flight to Santiago, via Lima. (B)
14 Santiago
Our morning is at leisure before we embark on a tour of Chile's cosmopolitan capital. We'll explore historic and modern Santiago, stopping at a lookout to take in amazing views of the city. Highlights of our city tour include La Moneda - the presidential palace, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral and the Casa Colorada which was once the Spanish governor's residence. (B)
15-29 Days 15-29. Cruising With Princess Cruises
We travel from Santiago to the colourful port town of Valparaiso via the garden city of Vina Del Mar. 31 Buenos Aires - Iguazu Falls
We fly to thundering Iguazu Falls. Straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls are one of the world's largest and most spectacular waterfalls. Our accommodation for the next 2 nights is right in the National Park, with the thundering falls on our doorstep. Standing on a platform suspended over the Devil's Throat on the Argentinian side, we'll sense the incredible power. (B)
32 Iguazu Falls
This morning we visit the Brazilian side of the falls and walk the canyon path, enjoying the spectacular views. Then we'll get up close and personal with more than 160 species of exotic, tropical birds at the Parque Das Aves, set deep in the rainforest. (B)
33 Iguazu Falls - Rio De Janeiro
Enjoy the morning is at leisure before our afternoon flight to buzzing Rio de Janeiro. We'll be staying right on Copacabana Beach! (B)
34 Rio De Janeiro
Today we spend a full day visiting some of Rio's most famous sights, including Corcovado Hill, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. We'll enjoy a traditional churrasco grill for our farewell dinner tonight at Fogo de Chao. (B/D)

  • Once on the cruise, there is no sightseeing included as part of your Bunnik Tour. Should you like to book sightseeing (shore excursions) from the ship, this will need to be either pre-booked on the Holland America Line website, or on board.
  • On the cruise breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the main dining room. Holland America Line do have specialty restaurants that can be enjoyed for a small surcharge. Meals are included when in port, but only available on the ship. If you decide to take a day tour or leave the ship you will need to purchase your own meals.
  • Except for embarkation/disembarkation days, Breakfast, lunch & dinner are included daily while cruising. The cruise itinerary may change due to local conditions subject to the cruise line's discretion.

“An excellent way to tour South America”

Touring 6-7 countries in South America over just under 6 weeks was an excellent way to do it & considering it included 15 flights as well as a 2 week cruise seeing glaciers etc it's very good value. Our tour guide, Gina, was excellent & a very caring person as well as extremely efficient & I know all people on our tour gave her 15 out of 10; she also came on the ship with us (a first for Bunnik) & continued her excellent service (I'm sure Marion Bunnik does appreciate her as she also joined more
