2 Christchurch – Omarama
Board your coach to see the extensive work carried out to rebuild Christchurch after the devastating earthquake of February 2011. Later, see Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki and visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before soaking up the sensational alpine landscape of Mt Cook National Park. Stay: Heritage Gateway Hotel, Omarama (B/D)
3 Omarama - Dunedin
Your day starts along the Waitaki River with the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme and Benmore Dam. Travel through Oamaru with its famous white limestone buildings to Dunedin, where you'll tour the city. Stay: Kingsgate Hotel, Dunedin (B/D)
4 Dunedin – Overnight on Milford Sound
Today is a feast for the senses. Travel along the Devil's Staircase and the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau. You'll be awestruck by the World Heritage Fiordland National Park, New Zealand's largest. See rainforest, ancient glaciers, mountain ranges and drive through the Homer Tunnel. Pass Lake Matheson, Pop's Lookout, Cleddau Valley and the Chasm, before arriving in Milford Sound for your overnight cruise on the Milford Mariner. Overnight Cruise: Milford Sound (B/D)

5 Milford Sound - Queenstown
This morning depart for Te Anau, on the shores of Lake Te Anau, the largest lake on the South Island. Explore the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves, before travelling to the adventure-capital Queenstown. Stay Three Nights: Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Queenstown (B/D)
6 Queenstown 'Free Time'
Today is yours to explore Queenstown at your own pace. You may like to consider taking one of our optional experiences – you could ride the Shotover Jet boat, join a wine tour or take a 4WD minibus excursion through Skippers Canyon. This evening you have the option of taking a peaceful cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard the TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak High Country Farm for a gourmet barbecue dinner. (B)
7 Queenstown 'Free Time'
While Queenstown wears its 'Global Adventure Capital' badge proudly, it's also the perfect place to relax and explore. The town boasts great shopping with luxury brands, iconic New Zealand design stores and boutique fashion. (B)
8 Queenstown - Franz Josef Glacier
First stop visit the gold mining village of Arrowtown, a colourful township steeped in local history. Next is Cromwell and its sensational stone fruit. Then it's a trio of lakes – Lake Dunstan, Lake Hawea & Lake Wanaka. Travel through Haast Pass which winds its way through Mount Aspiring National Park and dramatic mountain and forest scenery. View the amazing Thunder Creek Falls and continue north along the coastal road to Franz Josef Glacier – a rare, still advancing glacier. 9 Franz Josef – Punakaiki
You can see Franz Josef Glacier from the air or take a glacier hike (both optional). Depart for Hokitika, home of the native greenstone (jade), for a factory visit and demonstration. Later travel to Punakaiki to view the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. You'll stay in an eco-friendly resort right on the waterfront. Enjoy dinner while watching the thundering surf at your doorstep! 10 Punakaiki – Nelson
Soak up the scenic wilderness of the Heritage Highway through the impressive Buller Gorge and the Kahurangi National Park before arriving in Nelson. This afternoon you'll visit the World of Wearable Arts and Collectable Cars. Stay Two Nights: Grand Mercure Monaco Resort, Nelson (B/D)
11 Nelson 'Free Time'
You'll have the option to journey to the top of the South Island and enjoy a relaxing cruise in the Abel Tasman National Park or perhaps take a short bush walk, relax in sunny Nelson or explore the many arts and craft galleries. (B)
12 Nelson – Wellington
Visit the seaside village of Picton and cruise on tranquil Queen Charlotte Sound, before you head across Cook Strait to Wellington, New Zealand's capital. Enjoy a city sights tour before you visit Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand, where you'll explore New Zealand's nature, art, history and cultural heritage. 13 Wellington 'Free Time'
You have free time to see the sights of your choice. Perhaps take a tour of Parliament or one of the Lord of the Rings movie tours, or even a cruise to Somes Island in Wellington Harbour (own expense). (B)

2 Christchurch - Omarama
See how Christchurch is has rebuilt itself after the devastating earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, and pop into the Transitional Cathedral, the temporary home of the Christchurch Cathedral built almost entirely of cardboard! Later, travel over the fertile Canterbury Plains to soak up spectacular scenery. You’ll view the famous Church of the Good Shepherd, and stop for a quick photo with the bronze statue of a collie dog. You may wish to view Mount Cook National Park from the air this afternoon on an optional scenic flight. Your day finishes in the heart of the Mackenzie Country at Omarama. 3 Omarama - Dunedin
Your day begins with a visit to the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme, an intricate series of lakes and canals on the mighty Waitaki River, and the monumental spillway of the Benmore Dam. Next, travel to the historic town of Oamaru, with its tree-lined streets and celebrated white limestone buildings. Continue to Dunedin, New Zealand’s southernmost city. 4 Dunedin - Milford Sound
Travel this morning over the famed stretch of highway known as the Devil’s Staircase before descending to serene Lake Wakatipu. Drive through the towering beeches and rainforest of World Heritage listed Fiordland National Park, catching glimpses of glaciers and soaring mountain ranges. Continue through the hand-hewn Homer Tunnel before arriving in Milford Sound for your overnight cruise. 5 Milford Sound - Queenstown
Depart this morning for the town of Te Anau, on the shores of the magnificent lake which shares its name and is the largest in the South Island. Cruise to the western shores of Lake Te Anau to the entry of the famous Glowworm Caves to meet your guide. Deep inside you’ll be taken by small boat into a silent hidden grotto inhabited by thousands of glowworms. The glittering display is nothing short of extraordinary. Today is free for you to explore exciting Queenstown at your own pace. 8 Queenstown - Franz Josef
Your destination today is the wild west coast of the South Island. Stop to visit the gold-mining settlement of Arrowtown, where more than 70 original buildings from the gold-rush era are faithfully preserved. Sample luscious stone fruit in Cromwell and enjoy the serenity of the region’s vivid blue lakes, the most famous of which is tranquil Lake Wanaka. Drive over spectacular Haast Pass, passing the 96-metre Thunder Creek Falls and stopping for a leisurely rainforest walk on your way to the extraordinary Franz Josef Glacier. 9 Franz Josef - Punakaiki
