Country Roads of France was my 3rd Insight Vacations tour and the most enjoyable. The accommodation was always centrally located and the best available, our tour director Mark was brilliant, articulate, intelligent and highly professional, our driver Gerard was also superb. This culture tour included wineries with 12th Century cellars, Van Gough's sunflower fields, Monet's garden (optional excursion) and Toulouse Lautrec's birth town and museum. For those who love French culture and history this is a sensational way to enjoy it. Just sit back, be taken care of and indulge yourself in the adorable French countryside.

A great experience from booking to the end of the tour!! Georgie from Global Journeys was very helpful when I had to change the tour date last minute - thanks again. Then the tour: A wonderful way to experience France: it’s varied landscapes, history, culture and food. Laurent Millet, our tour guide was outstanding , he has a great sense of humour, knowledge of history, politics and his explanations of ‘French attitude’ was always very entertaining. He spoilt us with special treats of macaroons, even a delicious wine after one outing. Almost all hotels were excellent and breakfast was always delicious. Tex our driver did a marvellous job navigating narrow and dangerous roads in a big bus, always staying calm. I can recommend Country Roads of France to anyone who would like to experience France without having the stress of driving oneself and finding good hotels.

This tour was the best! I enjoyed the lovely countryside of France in spring with our wonderful guide, Laura, who kept us all happy and smiling! The hotels were all good with some that were truly special. Optional tours were generally good value and if you just felt like relaxing you could stay near the hotel and do your own thing. Booking with Yvonne from Global Journeys was easy using the online system. Yvonne always got back to me right away if I had any questions and I would certainly book any future trips with her as she was very helpful.

Booking With Global Journeys
Firstly, booking this wonderful trip through Global Journeys was the best decision my husband and I made, because they were always available, organized, helpful with advice, and offered constant updates on our trip. Additionally, we also received a great discount on that particular trip. Because Global Journeys' portfolio contains many travel companies, we will have no problem finding another trip to enjoy, without the worries of making the arrangements ourselves. (GJ: Thanks Penelope!) Our Insight Tour of Country Roads of France was magical, and just what we wanted for our first trip to France. Looking at the brochure, it offered an opportunity to visit a number of smaller cities and towns that would provide an intimate experience of the French way of life and history that is seldom discussed at a relaxed pace. The tour visited a number of places off the beaten track ( Sarlat la Caneda, Rocamadour, a vineyard and dinner in Fixin, Les Baux & Olive Mill and Pont du Gard ), that allowed us to savour the true French country lifestyle. This experience was enhanced by the knowledge and attention to detail of our tour guide, along with the safe driving of our bus driver. This was our second Insight Tour, and we will continue to travel with them.

The Tours was very good, Michael our guide was fantastic, very passionate about his job, and could answer all questions thrown at him - The sights we saw were amazing (it would have been nice to have had a bit more time in Nice to allow for some personal time, it say 2 nights but we didn't arrive until after 5Pm the first day. We were also disappointed we didn't visit the casino in Monte Carlo as advertised. These are small negatives but for the cost of the trip we were happy with what we experienced.
