Itinerary

Arrive in Casablanca, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.

This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Stay: Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca (D)

Your sightseeing begins with a fascinating guided city tour of Casablanca, taking in many famous sights including the Hassan II Mosque. This exquisite mosque is the largest in Africa and is home to Morocco's tallest structure, the 210-metre-high minaret.

Later, travel to Rabat, where you will enjoy a brief orientation before continuing to Fez. Stay Three Nights: Fez, Hotel Sahrai or similar (B/D)

A sightseeing tour of Fez takes you to the Karaouiyine, an imposing mosque that houses a university considered to be one of the world's oldest, founded in the mid 9th century. Then see the Bou Inania Madersa, a majestic 14th-century religious college with elaborately carved walls. Discover the local side of Fez, with its souks, potters and ceramists showcasing their talents. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore before dinner at a local restaurant tonight. (B/D)

Today will be spent exploring the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, Morocco's best-preserved archaeological site. Declared a World Heritage site in 1997, only about half of the 40-hectare site has been excavated. Enjoy lunch at a local winery and return to Fez later for an evening at leisure. (B/L/D)

Travel to Erfoud via the mountains and the cedar woods of the middle Atlas. Along the way, stop in the town of Midelt. After crossing the Ziz Valley, arrive in Erfoud. Stay: Erfoud, Hotel Chergui (B/D)

This morning, visit a ghost town that once boasted imposing fortifications, before continuing to a nearby village to visit the local school. Enjoy lunch, then transfer by 4WD to your luxury desert camp in the Merzouga Dunes, perfectly situated away from the crowds in the Erg Chebbi Desert. Stay: Merzouga Dunes, Private Desert Camp, staying in luxury tents (B/L/D)

Signature Experiences:
  • Head out on a camel ride through the Merzouga Dunes.

Farewell the desert and head back by 4WD to Erfoud, before re-boarding your coach for Ouarzazate. Along the way, stop for lunch at stunning Todra Gorge, a canyon in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains.

Afterwards, cross the Dades Valley, with hundreds of kasbahs lining the landscapes.

Later, arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will check into your hotel, which is inspired by traditional architecture. Stay: Ouarzazate, Hotel Le Berbere Palace (B/L/D)

Take a guided tour of Ouarzazate and visit a film museum, Taourirt Kasbah and the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.

Afterwards, traverse the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass to Marrakesh, absorbing panoramic vistas along the way at an elevation of up to 2,260 metres. A few minutes from the souks and Jemaa El-Fna square, your hotel in Marrakesh offers a peaceful haven among the vibrant bustle of the city.

This evening, enjoy a cooking class. Stay Three Nights: Marrakesh, Hotel Les Jardins De La Koutoubia (B/D)

Today you will head to the relaxed coastal city of Essaouira, which has retained its traditional culture and character. Discover the palm-fringed streets of the fortified medina, as well as lanes teeming with boutiques and art galleries, luring you in with a scent of exotic spices in the air.

Afterwards, visit a local winery for a tasting. (D)

Discover Marrakesh in greater depth today, starting with a guided exploration of the city.

Afterwards, head into the labyrinth of the Marrakesh souks.

Later, visit Bahia Palace (meaning brilliance), as well as the exceptional Majorelle Gardens, created by the renowned French painter Jacques Majorelle and since restored by Pierre Berge and Yves Saint Laurent.
