Are you planning your honeymoon to Europe? Or just looking forward to spending time with your partner away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Europe is an ideal destination to experience together, full of sumptuous food, history, scenery and culture. For those who share common interests you can revel in them together. If you don’t? No worries! Europe’s diversity means there is something for everyone, so you can both get the most out of your holiday.

Taking a tour is the perfect way to travel Europe as a couple. It means neither of you has to drive, there will be no heated arguments about the right directions to follow along the narrow streets, and no one is responsible for doing all the planning (particularly if you have just finished organising your wedding!). Someone else can take care of the logistics while you spend time making memories and sharing once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Here are some great Europe tours for couples.

Insight Vacations – 16 Day Country Roads of France

When you are travelling with your partner you want time to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. This tour has a blend of free time as well as plenty of two and three-night stays and relaxed starts so you won’t feel rushed. Enjoy wine tastings and traditional cuisine in Burgundy and a free day in Dijon to do as you please. Have time to yourselves to enjoy lunch amidst the mesmerising canals and bridges of lakeside Annecy and delight in a farm-to-table experience with local produce and wine in Chambéry.

Relax in the French Riviera or join an optional excursion before whiling away an evening at a table for two at a charming bistro in Nice. Satisfy a mix of interests as you indulge in the aromas of a perfumery, admire churches and cathedrals, and hit the Grand Prix circuit in Monaco. Spend three nights in Avignon to see the sights and enjoy a full day to yourselves to wander the streets or venture further afield.

Wind through medieval towns and stunning valleys on your way to the City of Love. Spend two nights in Paris taking in the highlights with your new touring friends, split into smaller groups to uncover the traditional side of Paris with a local foodie, and spend time under the twinkling city lights just the two of you.

Trafalgar – 10 Day Greek Island Hopper

Ahhh the Greek Islands… how dreamy! What’s more romantic than watching the sun set over the whitewashed buildings and azure water of the Santorini coastline? This at leisure tour is the perfect way to enjoy the best Athens has to offer, as well as three-night stays on Mykonos and Santorini. The longer stays and slower pace mean you spend less time on the move, and more time getting to experience these Cycladic gems in depth together.

Start and finish your tour on the mainland, where Athens showcases the ancient relics of the Acropolis and its modern buzz reverberates along cobbled streets. Three nights on Mykonos presents plenty of opportunity to explore on your own terms, with two full free days to try some traditional cuisine in a local taverna, meander the laneways, or enjoy the views from the windmill-lined hillsides. You’ll find it easy to get around with an orientation provided by your guide on the first day and their expertise on hand during your stay.

Santorini next – and it lives up to all the hype! Choose to soak in the glistening water, or just soak up the atmosphere. Spend your free time drinking in breathtaking views from the quaint towns that call the volcanic cliffs home, laze on the colourful sand beaches, browse the boutiques, visit a local winery, and get your fill of fresh seafood before heading back to the mainland (and reality!). It’s never easy to say goodbye to Greece, so just say see you later. There is always next time!
