We take a morning sightseeing tour of the city and its impressive 900-year-old Upper Town. We see the churches of St Mark's and St Catherine's and visit the Cathedral, the tallest building in Croatia. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the cobblestone streets at your own pace and admire its old-world graciousness and friendly, lively energy before tonight's group welcome dinner. (B/D)
4 Zagreb - Sarajevo
Today we cross the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina and make our way to the historic capital, Sarajevo. A vibrant city full of history and a Turkish heritage, it is often called the ‘Jerusalem of Europe'. (B)
We'll explore Sarajevo on a sightseeing tour this morning. Highlights include the buzzing Turkish bazaar, ‘Bas Carsija', the Husref Bay's Mosque and the Gavrilo Princip Museum. (B) Special Experience: Discover the culinary delights of Sarajevo on a gourmet walking tour. Enjoy a degustation of Bosnian cheeses and smoked meats, as well as a traditional cooked meal at a local restaurant. Relax in a typical tavern and try two types of homemade rakija.
6 Sarajevo - Mostar - Dubrovnik
We venture south to Mostar, where its famous Ottoman bridge, bustling gold alley and the numerous millhouse restaurants lining the banks of the river set an enchanting scene. Later this afternoon we continue to beautiful Dubrovnik, set against a backdrop of the shimmering Adriatic Sea. (B)
Dubrovnik is one of the most photographed towns on the Mediterranean. This morning we enjoy a walking tour of this historic walled city. Sights will include the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando's Column, Rector's Palace and the Franciscan Monastery. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. 8 Kotor Excursion
We spend the day touring the tiny country of Montenegro. Admire the beauty of the Dalmatian coast as we drive along the rugged Bay of Kotor, dotted with charming little villages. (B)
9 Dubrovnik - Hvar
Today we head north along the spectacular coast to Hvar Island. Take in the views from the panoramic road on the island as we journey to Hvar town. Enjoy the evening at leisure. (B)
10 Hvar - Split
See the highlights of this beautiful island on a walking tour this morning, where we enjoy spectacular views from the Hvar Fortress, a medieval castle dating back to before 500BC. We then have a delicious lunch in Vrisnik before catching a ferry to Croatia's second-largest city, Split (B/L)
We tour the historic city centre of Split today, which is built around the remains of the world's most impressive Roman monument - the Diocletian's Palace. (B)
12 Split - Trogir - Plitvice Lakes
Today we stop in the town of Trogir, where artists from around the world gather to paint. This afternoon we travel to stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park. These 16 terraced lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey and blue. (B/D) Special Experience: Stay overnight right inside the national park, and only 400m from the highest waterfall.

This morning we explore the spectacular lower lake section on a guided walking tour that will showcase its magnificent turquoise lakes, waterfalls and cascades. 14 Plitvice Lakes - Opatija
We travel to the imperial resort town of Opatija. Famous for its grand spa hotels and superb location on the beautiful bay of Kvarner, it is often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. We'll take an orientation tour on arrival to learn about its splendid past. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
15 Istrian Peninsula Excursion
Enjoy a full-day excursion along the beautiful, heart-shaped Istrian Peninsula. Visit Eufrasius Basilica at Poreč, the Roman Amphitheatre in Pula and the charming fishing port of Rovinj. (B)
16 Opatija - Postojna - Bled
Today we visit the incredible Postojna Cave, with more than 20km of passages, galleries and chambers. We ride an electric train through the caves discovering two-million-year-old stalagmite and stalactite formations. This afternoon we continue north to fairytale Lake Bled. (B)
The region around Bled is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Set amongst stunning mountain peaks and brimming with forests and greenery, waterfalls and streams, it is characterised by the iconic church steeple that perches atop a tiny island in the middle of the lake. Here we enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour including a visit to Bled Castle, before we visit the lake valley of Bohinj. (B) Special Experience: Visit the Alpine Dairy Farming Museum, learn about life of herdsmen in an authentic environment and taste the locally produced cheeses.
Optional Walking Discovery: Explore the lush greenery and tranquil waters of Vintgar Gorge this morning. Don't forget your camera, the scenery will take your breath away! Learn more Special Experience: Visit the traditional Gingerbread Museum to learn the history of this honey-bread and make your very own gingerbread heart, a symbol of love and passion. We continue to be immersed in history as we enjoy traditional Slovenian fare for dinner at the museum's adjoining restaurant. (B/D)
19 Bled - Ljubljana - Zagreb
This morning we depart for the picturesque Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. Take a sightseeing tour here, then get the opportunity to meet a local at the Old Yugoslavia Museum. See Ljubljana from a different angle on a boat ride along the Ljubljanica River. We then head to the picturesque Arboretum Botanical Gardens. Tonight we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner. (B/D)
