Tracy Arm & Juneau

This narrow, 41-kilometre-long (26-mile) fjord is another of Alaska's most dramatic glacier settings. The lush rainforest recedes to reveal a stunning canyon of bare rock. The panorama of 2-kilometre (7,000-foot) mountain peaks and nearly vertical rock cliffs is astounding. Waterfalls appear at every turn. Icebergs make their way to the sea in all sorts of wondrous shapes. And tucked away at the end of this remarkable waterway are two very active reminders of the Ice Age-the twin Sawyer Glaciers, which calve icebergs into the jade-coloured inland sea. Kittiwakes, mountain goats, and seals are a common sight. Whales and bears may even make an appearance in this magical place. Visit one of the most remote capital cities - Juneau. Accessible only by air and water, Juneau is located at the base of two towering mountains in the heart of Alaska's Inside Passage, and is home to a rich Gold Rush history, Native culture, wildlife, and a wealth of natural wonders. Shop for gold nuggets, visit the stately Governor's Mansion, saunter through the swinging doors of the historic Red Dog Saloon, or visit mighty Mendenhall Glacier, an impressive river of ice that is 19 kilometres (12 miles) long and 2.4 kilometres (1.5 miles) wide. (B/L/D)
15

Skagway

Once a major port for gold prospectors who passed through en route to the Yukon, today you can still ride the antique White Pass & Yukon Route narrow-gauge railway up past Deadhorse Gulch to see what it was like ages ago. Step back in time as you stroll the wooden sidewalks of the town, preserved as a U.S. National Historic Park. (B/L/D)
16

This Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site protects a unique ecosystem in an ever-changing glacial landscape. 18

“Rocky Mountineer overrated.”

Rocky Mountaineer overrated. Food OK, nothing special, in retrospect we would have been happy with a road trip with same scenery. Of course that is a personal thought. Hotels excellent. Pace good. Included meals nothing special. Guide and driver superb. Coach always clean. Would travel with Globus family again, but feel Cosmos better value. Happy with Global Journeys as always.

“Canada & Alaska”

So much is said about the beauty of Canada and Alaska. Well, its true. The Canadian Rockies are fantastic, and seeing them by train and then coach was spectacular. Add to that a very good tour guide and coach driver along with the pleasant and experienced rocky mountaineer staff you have a great holiday. Our tour group was also fantastic, and we got along really well for a group of 20+.

“Great Holiday”

Wow what a great trip! Having not been on a guided tour before I found the Globus staff to be helpful and friendly. As we traveled with another couple i requested we be placed together. Not only was our accommodation close to each other through each step but also our Rocky Mountaineer seats were side by side which made this spectacular excursion wonderful. Spectacular train journey and gold leaf was excellent. Staff were beyond excellent. Food superb! Alcohol generous!

Our bus tour guide Darcy was humble, knowledgeable and helpful, along with our bus driver Gunther we couldn't have asked for more fun bus journey. Spotting heaps of wildlife along the way it was never any trouble to stop for enough time so “everyone” could get a pic. All overnight accommodation was outstanding and could not have asked for better and again food was outstanding . Our only disappointment was there was never enough time at each overnight stop to explore the area.

Cruising on the Volendam was all we thought and more, sensational! Being our first cruise we loved the relaxed feel of the ship and I think it should be said that the gala nights on this ship in particular is nothing special. It's nice that everyone is dressed up but tuxedo and cocktail dress are not needed. The friendliness of the staff and the food, we could not fault. Awesome scenery not to be missed, we've ticked our bucket list.

“Wonderful spirits and views of Canada and Alaska”

Epic train trip (service, comfort, host and staff best we have seen). Great but necessary "all go" Globus tour and leader. Very good relaxing cruise to finish. Wonderful views and country. Transfers to and from airport and waterfront on the Canada line sky train are unbeatable in time, efficiency and cost. Vancouver does it well.
