Vancouver
Welcome to Vancouver! Your Tour Director is on hand late this afternoon to answer any questions.
2
Vancouver
This morning, an included city tour highlights STANLEY PARK, Chinatown, the harbour, beaches, and more. The rest of the day is at leisure; your Tour Director can suggest ways to further explore the city. Maybe take a water taxi to Granville Island with outdoor markets, street musicians, and waterfront cafes. Or, visit historic Gastown with its steam-powered clock.
3
Vancouver - Kelowna
Our journey begins in British Columbia's fertile valleys and continues through rich mountain forests to Lake Okanagan. Travel along the lake to the resort city of Kelowna, attractively set on the lake shore and surrounded by orchards and vineyards. Sample local wines on the included WINERY TOUR.
4
Kelowna - Glacier National Park - Yoho National Park - Banff National Park
Motor north through the Okanagan Valley, famous for its peaches and vineyards. Climb up 4,379-foot (1334 metre) high Rogers Pass in GLACIER NATIONAL PARK. Take a break at the pass, perfect for photos of the rugged mountains, glaciers, and waterfalls. Enter YOHO NATIONAL PARK and scale Kicking Horse Pass at 5,421 feet (1652 metres). Reach BANFF NATIONAL PARK, gateway to the majestic Canadian Rockies. An orientation tour includes Banff's unspoiled beauty.
5
Banff National Park
Banff is one of Canada's favourite year-round resorts, and home to 53 species of mammals. The most commonly seen are deer and big horn sheep. If the timing is right, you may spot black bears, grizzly, or wolves. Your Tour Director will also have suggestions for an optional helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies.
6
Banff National Park - Lake Louise - Columbia Icefield - Jasper National Park
First, to Lake Louise, its turquoise waters a perfect natural mirror that reflects the mountains and glaciers. Precipitous gorges, snowcapped summits, and lakes of exquisite blues and greens come into view as the motorcoach continues northward into JASPER NATIONAL PARK. A highlight today is a stop at the COLUMBIA ICEFIELD to ride the Ice Explorer that travels on ice that's 750 feet (230 metres) thick. This afternoon, join our optional float trip down the Athabasca River. Enjoy an orientation tour of Jasper townsite upon arrival.
7
Jasper National Park
Today, join our optional excursion to Maligne Lake and Spirit Island, and embark on a narrated cruise. The balance of the day is free to enjoy everything Jasper has to offer-from quaint shops to meandering wildlife.
8
Jasper National Park - Mount Robson - Sun Peaks
Leave Jasper and follow the Fraser River to the base of Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, peaking at 12,972 feet (3954 metres). Continue following the Yellowhead Highway south along the North Thompson River-a route pioneered by fur trappers. Overnight at the Sun Peaks mountain resort.
9
Sun Peaks - Lillooet - Whistler
Head south, following the once treacherous Cariboo Wagon Trail. Via Lillooet, "Mile 0 of the Gold Rush Route," your motorcoach will follow the shores of Seton and Duffey Lakes with a late-afternoon arrival in Whistler.
10
Whistler
Spend the day in the alpine resort of Whistler, nestled at the base of breathtaking Blackcomb Mountain. Enjoy free time to explore many sites of the 2010 Winter Olympics held here. You may decide to join one of many optional excursions, including a flightseeing excursion by floatplane over the glaciated peaks, or a gondola ride between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains- the perfect bear-spotting vantage point.

The trip was wonderful. Our guide Vedrana was excellent, very knowledgeable and went beyond her duties to make sure everything ran smoothly. We were very happy with the location of our hotels right in the heart of all the action. The hotels were very clean and all had beautiful comfortable beds and thick towels. We have travelled with more expensive tours and found this trip was much better. Value and hotel location. The coach was brand new and the driver excellent. Would recommend this tour. Georgie did an excellent job with our booking. No hassles, will book with Global Journeys again.

We met up with our tour guide Sue and driver Keith (who had worked together before) in Vancouver. Sue's knowledge and Keith's very good driving skills and knowledge of the area we were travelling made our 13 day tour exceptional. The other guests on our trip were all in good spirits and we all got along, mostly due to the way Sue and Keith interacted. The accommodation was great for a lower costing trip, the inclusions were good and we learnt so much about Canada and the Rockies. I would recommend this Cosmos trip to anyone wanting a good all round experience. Breakfast was not included, to keep costs down. My only suggestion to Cosmos would be to add an additional charge for breakfast if one desired. Some of the driving days made it a very early start to get outside to purchase breakfast.

Booking with Global Journeys is always a pleasure. No question is left unanswered. We got our travel documents in good time. Madeline could not have been more helpful. We have used Global Journeys before and will use them again in the future.

I had a wonderful time on the 13 day tour of Vancouver, the Rocky and Blackcomb Mountains with our tour guide Sharon Sawatzsky. The Canadians are blessed with such a beautiful and picturesque country. The mountain scenes are majestic, magnificent and marvellous. Also, the Canadians take such a pride in the country with the cities and towns, an abundance of floral displays in the form of gardens, and floral boxes and hanging baskets galore. The chain-saw sculptures were also something to admire too! The icing on the tour was the visit to the Butchart Gardens, Victoria. I really went for it and got almost everything covered in 1 1/2 hours as well as the gift shop, only realising later that I missed the Mediterranean Garden. But, never mind. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

There is only one minor criticism and that was an overload of commentary from the tour guide towards the finish. However, I understand that with that kind of 'everyman for himself tour', the bus is the only time she could get us together.

I was most impressed with the COSMOS tour. I went for almost everything on the additional excursions except for the trip to Grouse Mountain, which was cancelled for the 24th July, the Tree Trek Canopy Tour as there was a clash with the Zip Trek Bear Tour and the Peak2Peak Gondola Tour, which for me changed to the Gondola excursion up to the mountains as the Peak2Peak was out of order. I also did not do the Panoramic Seaplane Tour in Victoria as I was very busy with the Marine Wildlife tour and Whale Watching and the Harbour Boat Cruise in the evening as well as shopping for a new suitcase as the lock broke on mine early in the trip. All up I spent $1,480 on excursions.

The tour was great value for money. It included all accommodation costs and transport during the tour, including transfers to optional excursions. Our bags were handled to and from the coach which made the whole experience easy. We traveled during spring and we had expected to see the beautiful blue lakes. We were too early in the season to see these as they were still frozen, however this still made the scenery spectacular and the bonus was that there weren't any queues anywhere. We will be returning and completing the tour in autumn in a few years so that we see everything in a different season. It was fabulous.

This was an excellent tour with superb scenery throughtout the whole time. Two night stays in all the resorts was appreciated. Our tour guide Sharon was very good. She was very knowledgeable and helpful and friendly and added to the trip immensely. Only downside was that no meals were provided at all which added to the cost. Even breakfast each day would have been better. But overall you won’t be disappointed.
