Hobart – Strahan
This morning you head west to New Norfolk and the magnificent Mt. Field National Park. Tasmania's oldest National Park is the location of the spectacular three-tiered waterfall, Russell Falls, which is surrounded by towering swamp gums. Take the winding journey up to Lake St. Clair and travel through Queenstown, along the rainforest bordered road of the World Heritage protected Franklin- Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, and on to coastal Strahan. Stay: Strahan Village, Strahan (B/D)
3
Gordon River Cruise – Cradle Mountain
A spectacular Gordon River Cruise, where the wilderness comes to the water's edge, is the highlight of today. You'll be awestruck by the beauty of the dark waters, stained amber by buttongrass tannins, reflecting the untouched wilderness. Stop at Sarah Island for insight into Tasmania's lesser known convict history, the Macquarie Harbour Penal Settlement. See Hell's Gate and Heritage Landing, site of the 2,000 year old Huon Pine. Pass the towns of Rosebery and Tullah as you travel to your hotel on the outskirts of sensational Cradle Mountain National Park. Stay: Cradle Mountain Hotel (B/L/D)
4
Cradle Mountain – Smithton
This morning it's time to explore the inspiring beauty of Cradle Mountain National Park. We'll take you to gorgeous Dove Lake for spectacular views of Cradle Mountain – make sure the camera's charged, this is a scenic highlight, and the air – there's none fresher! You may spot Bennetts wallabies, echidnas and pademelons grazing through the alpine heathlands. Picture rolling green hills and Friesian cows – this afternoon you'll think you're in a butter commercial as you make your way past Table Cape, home of tulips, for views of Bass Strait and coastline. Picturesque Stanley is in your sights as you head west with a view of 'the Nut' and a chance to explore. Your final destination is Smithton. Stay: Tall Timbers, Smithton (B/D)
5

6
Launceston
This morning travel to Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre through the rolling hills and vineyards of the Tamar Valley. Beaconsfield Mine has a long rich gold mining history. Your expert guide will bring to life the mine's extraordinary past and tell you of incredible engineering feats, the town's heritage and the dramatic events of the 2006 rock fall and mine rescue. After having time to explore Cataract Gorge, this afternoon is free for you to explore Launceston. (B)

Launceston - Bicheno
Bridestowe Lavender Estate is your first stop today. Bridestowe has been growing lavender since 1922 when a London perfumer planted lavender seeds from the French Alps on his family estate which he named after his wife's birthplace in England. Try some of Bridestowe's lavender products and treat yourself to their famous lavender ice-cream! Later make a stop at the Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, planted in honour of fallen WWI soldiers. After your lunch time stop at St Helens, follow the picturesque East Coast south to Bicheno. This evening you may like to take an optional tour to see Bicheno's wild penguin colony as they emerge from the ocean for the night, or even take a tour to see Tassie Devils. Stay: Beachfront at Bicheno (B/D)
8
Bicheno - Hobart
Get your camera ready for the spectacular and breathtaking – Freycinet National Park. You'll take a walk that will unveil astonishing views across brilliant blue water, forest and golden beach. Port Arthur
Explore Port Arthur Historic Site today. Cross Eaglehawk Neck to the Tasman Peninsula and enjoy a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a fascinating guided walk of Port Arthur's infamous convict prison. You'll have time to wander the site at your leisure before you leave. See rugged sea cliffs from Pirate's Bay Lookout, and feast your eyes on the amazing vistas of Tasman's Arch, Devil's Kitchen and the Blowhole on the drive back to Hobart. This evening celebrate your holiday with your fellow travellers at a Farewell Dinner at one of Hobart's favourite restaurants. (B/FD)

Our trip to Tasmania was extremely well organised and certainly met our expectations. The guide Caroline was very informative and very attentive to all the group. Despite the group being very large (50 people) there were no problems at all and everyone got on very well. The accommodation was excellent and we had no complaints there. The itinerary was well thought out and it was a good time to go. The weather was pleasant with no rain, despite it being very cloudy. The only disappointment was we didn't have enough time at Port Arthur. We would have liked more time to explore all the buildings. Other than that we're very happy.

Global Journeys and AAT Kings made my Tasmanian Wonders tour absolutely worry free. Madeline from Global Journeys organised this tour for me so well. From my arrival to departure I had no worries. The trip was great and we were blessed with beautiful weather.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful on this tour. We got on with each other so well. Our Travel Director Carolyn had a wealth of knowledge and understanding about Tasmanian history and she was very helpful. Tom our coach driver was excellent in all areas of his expertise and very helpful as well. I left with so much knowledge and understanding of Tasmania. I will visit Tasmania in the near future soon. I would recommend this tour to anyone who loves travelling and learning about cultures, people and scenic views.

I enjoyed every minute of this tour. I have already booked another tour to Europe with Global Journeys. Thank you to Global Journeys and AAT Kings for the best tour I have ever had!!

Great trip. Well organised and easy to just sit back and enjoy. Carolyn, our tour director, shared interesting stories and background information on the areas we visited while Tom, our coach driver, was professional, courteous and got us safely from one destination to another. The itinerary was well planned and gave us a great taste of Tasmania. Would definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic time travelling around Tasmania with AAT Kings. Everything was so well organised, with a very informative travel director and great driver. Made our trip worry free and very enjoyable. Made lots of friends who we will definitely catch up with again. Great accommodation throughout and our friendly travel director would often include an extra stop at a lookout or interesting site if we were running on time. Loved Tasmania, particularly the west coast and central highlands. Cradle Mountain was the highlight!

Had a wonderful tour around Tasmania in November, the roadsides were covered in wild flowers, the weather was ideal and the coach tour staff were excellent at keeping us informed about the local history. This tour visited spectacular rainforests and tourist attractions that suited the type of tour we were looking for. The accommodation and meals supplied were all excellent with special dietary requirements catered for. I would recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Tasmania.
