We venture south to Wadi Rum, one of the most stunning desertscapes in the world. We'll enjoy an exciting jeep tour, guided by local Bedouin tribesmen. Later we'll take a camel ride through the uniquely shaped mountains and see traces of ancient civilisations in the many carved inscriptions found throughout the area. We'll spend the night in a Bedouin style desert camp underneath a blanket of stars. (B/D)

This morning we explore Muscat, starting at the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. We'll then visit the lively Muttrah Souq, thought to be one of the oldest marketplaces in the Arab world. We'll see the Sultan's Palace and finish at Bait Al Zubair Museum, home to a beautifully curated display of Omani culture and history. (B/D)

Muscat - Ras Al Hadd
Travelling by 4WD along the spectacular coastline, we'll stop to visit the fishing village of Qurayyat. In Wadi Shab we'll enjoy a short hike to discover the beautiful waterfalls and turquoise pools nestled between stone cliffs. This afternoon we'll reach the Ras al Jinz Scientific Research Centre on the easternmost point of the Arabian Peninsula. An important nesting site for the green sea turtle, each year 30,000 turtles come here to lay their eggs. Tonight we'll venture down to the beach to see the nesting area. (B/L/D)

Ras Al Hadd - Wahiba Sands
Today we'll discover enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid, where you'll be able to swim in the incredible emerald pools. In the afternoon we'll head inland to the vast desert of Wahiba Sands. Travelling off-road by 4WD/ we'll explore the mesmerising landscape of endless dunes and witness a breathtaking sunset. Tonight we'll sleep under a blanket of stars in a basic Bedouin desert campsite. (B/D)

Wake to the sun rising over the desert. Special Experiences: Visit a Bedouin house and experience the warm Omani hospitality with a cup of kahwa (Arabic coffee) & dates.We'll then leave the desert behind and discover the old abandoned mercantile village of Al Mansfah on our way to the town of Nizwa. Here we'll visit its round fort and the Silver Souq, renowned for its handcrafted jewellery. (B/D)

Special Experiences: An early start to visit Nizwa's unique goat market and experience more of the genuine old Omani culture and traditions.We'll then stop for a photo at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed mudbrick fort of Bahla, and then tour the beautifully decorated interior of Jabrin Fort. We'll also enjoy a traditional Omani lunch at the picturesque village of Misfat Al Abrein, where time seems to have stood still. We travel to majestic Jebel Shams (‘Mountain of Sun'), Oman's highest point, via the remote towns of Al Hamra and Wadi Ghul. We'll venture up to the ‘Grand Canyon of Oman' and meet some of the local weavers selling their wares as we walk along the canyon rim. (B/D)

Jebel Shams - Al Hoota Caves - Muscat
After some time to relax this morning we'll depart for Muscat, stopping at the Al Hoota Caves. Estimated to be more than 2 million years old, this great example of a karst cave system is home to spectacular stalagmite and stalactite formations, as well as the blind cave fish. (B)

Batinah Excursion
Today we discover the stunning Batinah Coast north of Muscat. We'll explore the villages of Seeb and Nakhl and enjoy a picnic lunch near the hot springs of Al Thowarah. Special Experiences: Enjoy a magical sunset on board an Omani dhow cruise this evening. Admire the grand homes and palaces that dot the coastline near Muscat and watch as the sun disappears behind the mountains.We'll then enjoy a group farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B/L/D)
