The incredible UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ngorongoro Crater was created by the implosion of a volcano. We descend to the crater floor in search of the 'Big 5' and discover the abundance of wildlife including wildebeest, zebras, elephants and hippos, set against a remarkable backdrop of forest-covered crater walls. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park. The abundant wildlife, framed against Mt Kilimanjaro's snow-covered peak, make this park a photographer's delight. This afternoon we'll take a game walk around the camp grounds with an experienced tracker, then visit a local Maasai village school. (B/L/D)

Amboseli National Park - Lake Naivasha

We take an early flight this morning to Nairobi, then drive toward the Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha. A popular stop for British flying boats of the 1930s, it was also the home of Joy Adamson, author of "Born Free". Its rich heritage and idyllic scenery make it the perfect place to relax, enjoy lunch and visit the house containing paintings and artefacts as well as memorabilia from the "Born Free" film. We'll also enjoy a cruise on the lake and walking tour of Crescent Island. (B/L/D)

Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru is our next destination. One of the Great Rift Valley's soda lakes, it's famous for its diverse birdlife and rhino population.Special Experience: We'll participate in a tree-planting ceremony at our lodge.Later this afternoon we'll take an afternoon game drive in this beautiful park, (B/L/D)

‘Karibu' to Kenya and its capital, Nairobi. Less than 100 years ago, there was a river in an empty wilderness where Nairobi now stands. Despite health hazards and the ever-present danger from wild animals, Nairobi was established by 1907 and quickly grew to become the largest city between Cairo and Johannesburg. This evening we'll enjoy a group welcome dinner. (D)

Today we'll visit The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, run by Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick, which rescues and rehabilitates orphaned elephants and rhinos from ivory and horn poachers. We'll then enjoy a visit to the Giraffe Centre and get up close and personal with these majestic creatures from the raised platforms. Later we'll enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden, followed by a visit to the adjoining Museum. (B/L)

Nairobi - Mt Kilimanjaro - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast we fly to Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant migration, picturesque baobab trees and tree-climbing lions. We'll head out on our first game drive later this afternoon before dinner at the lodge. (B/L/D)

This morning we depart for the sweeping plains of the heritage-listed Serengeti, looking for wildlife along the way. En route we'll stop to visit Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world. Serengeti National Park is famous for its annual migration, when some 6 million hooves pound the open plains in search of fresh grazing land. We'll encounter more of the local wildlife on an afternoon game drive in this amazing park. (B/L/D)

The landscape is characterised by vast rolling plains which we will explore on morning and afternoon game drives, looking for big cats, gazelles and zebras. The plains are dotted with rocky kopjes where lions often laze the day away and cheetah can often be seen sitting atop old termite mountains scanning the landscape for their next meal. (B/L/D)
