Tour Description
This is one of our most popular holidays visiting all the Northern capitals: Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki. Plus we add a three-night stay in St. Petersburg. For the overnight Baltic Sea crossing from Stockholm to Helsinki we have first-class two-berth cabins. Special features are charming Tivoli Gardens (open mid-April to mid-September), magnificent Frogner Park, and, above all, the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. A welcome dinner in Copenhagen and a farewell dinner in St. Petersburg are included, and a full day at leisure in Helsinki allows the possibility to join an optional excursion to Tallinn, capital of Estonia. Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide features the Church of Our Savior and the Stock Exchange on the way to Christiansborg Palace, where you visit the elegant ROYAL RECEPTION ROOMS. Drive past the National Museum and the Royal Theater, stop for pictures of Amalienborg Palace with its lovely flower gardens and of the wistful LITTLE MERMAID. Afternoon at leisure, optional excursions are available. Tonight, visit TIVOLI GARDENS (mid-April to mid-Sept.), the city's colourful amusement park. (B)

Copenhagen - Gothenburg, Sweden - Oslo, Norway.
At Elsinore, board your FERRY for Helsingborg, then, drive to Gothenburg, Sweden's thriving second-largest city, and admire its beautiful parks, botanical gardens, and well-kept canals during your orientation tour. In the afternoon, continue along the Skagerrak coastline to Norway. Evening arrival in Oslo. (B/D)

Norway's capital is a study in farsighted urban planning, seeking growth in harmony with nature. Your Local Guide will take you to the National Theater, Parliament, and the Royal Palace. Oslo - Stockholm, Sweden.
Trace the King's Road, an ancient trade link between the northern capitals connecting Oslo, Stockholm, Turku, Helsinki, and St. Petersburg. Cross the Swedish border to scenic Varmland, beautifully described in Selma Lagerlof's Saga of Gosta Berling, on the way to Karlstad on Lake Vanern. Pass the ancient garrison town of Orebro and modern Eskilstuna, known for its stainless steel, and proceed to Stockholm. (B)

Stockholm.
Stockholm, scene of Stieg Larsson's Milennium, is settled on 14 islands between Lake Malar and the Baltic Sea. Your included morning sightseeing with a Local Guide features the Royal Palace, Riddarholm Church, and the festive blue and gold chambers in the CITY HALL, where the annual Nobel Prize banquet is held. Later, you may wish to join an optional excursion to the Wasa Ship Museum. (B)

Founded by Peter the Great, construction began in 1703 and the city eventually spread over 100 islands linked by 700 bridges. It suffered severe damage during World War II, when a cruel 900-day siege claimed nearly a million victims. Start with the Winter Palace complex. Formerly the residence of the czars, it is now home of the world-famous HERMITAGE MUSEUM with celebrated works by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, and the major French impressionists. Next, drive along elegant Nevsky Prospect and admire ST.ISAAC'S CATHEDRAL with its gilded dome and marble columns. (B)

Travel documents, including any paper tickets or e-ticket itineraries and other information, are sent approximately two to three weeks prior to departure from your home country, provided full payment has been received.
The average number of people on a Globus tour is 38, and we limit the number of tour members on our tours to a maximum of 44. This ensures smaller groups giving you more space, comfort and legroom. However our Platinum Collection tours carry a maximum of 40 passengers.
If there is ever a time you'll appreciate choosing Globus, it's when you board our luxury coaches. In Europe for instance, we limit our group size to just 44 people with the average group size being 38, this means fewer seats providing extra legroom for greater comfort. Your tour director will accompany you from the start to the end of your tour, educating you on the places and the history of the destination. Both Tour Director and Local Guides have a passion for travel, people and the destination and look forward to sharing their passion with you. If you chose to book either a "pre" or "post" - vacation extension, please note that your Tour Director may not escort you during this part of your vacation. However, in such cases, a Local Host will be available should you require any assistance.
It is customary worldwide to pay tips to Tour Directors and Drivers on all international vacations and these are not included in your quote. The option to prepay these tips prior to departure is possible however. Please ask your consultant to include this in your quote. You will receive Gratuity vouchers with your travel documents and all you need to do is give this to the Tour Director and driver or Cruise Director and ship's crew at the end of the vacation.

Globus uses the Eurostar for all channel crossing from London to Europe. The Eurostar takes you from the heart of London to the centre of Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes or Brussels in around 2 hours, while other operators will travel all day using coach, ferry and coach. With Globus you effective get an extra half day to explore in each direction.
Unlike other tour operators Globus has 50 hosts located at the airport and in each of our London hotels, so you only have to walk to the lobby not half way across London for assistance. Your host is there to help you with all your questions on London, they will provide you with maps, directions and a wide range of tours to ensure you see the best of London. Whether it be a city orientation tour, or dinner and a West End show your host will provide you with all the information and assistance you require.
Globus do not take reservations on a "share" basis. Sidestep the single room supplement by travelling with a friend if you can.

Airport Transfer Information
Globus tour members may reserve our airport transfer service at AU$ 25 per person one way on the tour start and end date of the tour (Excluding tours during the London Olympics, contact us for details) and are available for flights arriving/departing, within the following times.
